Issue #27

I have no excuses. I didn't do what I needed to do. I slacked off. I went soft. I lost the edge I needed. Because of that, I lost the Bombshell's title. I lost the title that meant a lot to me, I lost when really, I should have won.

But more importantly than all of that: I let all of you down.

I wanted to continue to show the world that I was not only worthy of being a hero, but a champion. And despite setting a record for the longest title reign in the companies history, I still feel like a failure. I feel like there was still so much more for me to accomplish, so much more for me to do, so much more for me to prove, and I couldn't get the job done. I let that title and the reign go to my head  a little. I let my guard down for one match, and it cost me everything.

But, as I said on twitter, the only thing to do now, is get the Bombshell title back. When you fall down off your horse, you have to get right back on and ride. It doesn't matter how many times you get knocked down, it's how many times you get up. So, I'm going to pick myself up, and then, I'm going to go and earn my rematch against Gothika, and I'm going to win the title back. Because I owe it to all of you. I owe it to myself. Because I know I can be stronger and faster, heck, I know I can be better. But a few weeks ago, I wasn't better. Gothika was. And that burns deep. Not that I can't stand competition, but I need to prove to you and to myself, and to Gothika herself that is no, I repeat, NO challenge I cannot overcome.

The challenge this week comes from Amy Marshall and Joanne Canelli. I know Amy well, I tangled with her plenty of times before here in SCW. I know that she's hungry and deserving of a title match. I know she always gives 100% and really makes it difficult for anyone to defeat her with a heck of a fight.

Which is exactly what I want from the bombshell's in general. Don't make it easy for me or anyone else. This division, this place is the best in the world, and although I hate using that particular phrase,  It's the truth. This is where the best women's wrestling is. I was proud to be it's champion, and would very much like to hold that title again. And I know Amy would like to be in that spot as well. Even though this is a tag match, I am fully aware of the implications. If either Amy or Joanne were to win this match, it shoots them right up the ladder. I am still at the top rung, and I cannot afford to get knocked off right now.

Amy, I know exactly how good you are, and I know what it takes to defeat you. I have done it before, and I will do it again. It's nothing against you, or Joanne for that matter. It's the simple fact that I lost the title, and a very much want it back, even if that means I have to go through you. I want your best, I want Joanne's best. Because once I get past you, that's two less challengers for Gothika to have in front of me.  The goal is simple Amy. You can understand it. It's why I'm going to beat you and Joanne.

Speaking of Joanne, I want her to understand something. Do you know how many people have wanted or have asked, or have at some times demanded that they be my "main villain"? It's gotten old, but I understand, you want me to treat you like a person that I really want to get the better of. Or that whole mobster girl thing you have going on for you. I've probably put away relatives of yours time and time again, because well, that's what I do. So in a way, you are getting your wish. I'm treating you like a threat. Because right now, you are. You are on the people who stand between me and the Bombshell's title for the second time. I am going to beat you as well, and maybe, just maybe, the feeling of beating a possible criminal will be so much more satisfying. But that's not the main reason I plan on taking you down. You need to be eliminated from Gothika's contention status. She's all mine Joanne, be it you, or Amy Marshall, the fact remains I'm not going to be denied on Sunday.

As for my partner Emma Rose. I heard a lot of good things, so I will expect good things. I know that you have the ability and the determination, now we have to put that to good use. I am willing to trust you Emma, I'm going to place a lot of faith, and a lot of expectations on you. But that's only because I've heard a lot, but I have not seen much. But I have no doubt that we will make a great team, and I have no doubt that we will emerge victorious.

Step 1 of getting the bombshell's title back, begins now.

[We're in Ted's apartment, and it looks like it's post... coitus. Roxi puts her shirt on,  wearing some boy shorts and playing with her phone. ]

Roxi - Well, that was fun.

Ted - Yeah.

Roxi - You alright?

Ted - Fine.

Roxi - ...Okay.

Ted - Well, I have a lot to do, so...I'll give you a ride home.

Roxi - Are you sure you're alright?

Ted - Yes. I'm fine.

Roxi - Okay...let me get dressed.

Ted - Thanks.

[ Roxi ignores the crass behavior and gets dressed.]

Roxi - So, what's on your agenda today?

Ted - A lot.

Roxi - Like what?

Ted - Business.

Roxi - Ooo...okay...

Ted - I've got a lot of business deals, clown stuff. You know.

Roxi - Oh, right.

Ted - It's nothing big, but it's work, you know.

Roxi - Right. Maybe tomorrow we can have lunch?

Ted - Maybe. It all depends on if I'm working.

Roxi - Oh...right.

[As Roxi continues to dress, she notices an earring on the floor.]

Roxi - Hey, Ted?

Ted - Yeah?

Roxi - Who's...who's earring is this?

Ted - I...I don't know. Are you sure it's not yours?

Roxi - It's not my earring. I don't wear earings.

Ted - Hmm..it may be the cleaning lady.

Roxi - Oh...

Ted - Yeah, she comes by a couple times a week, really nice lady.

Roxi - I'll just...put it on the nightstand.

Ted - Thanks.

[ Unfazed by the random earring, Roxi continues to dress, and soon she is walking towards the door. Then she notices a newer looking televison out of the box. ]

Roxi - Hey...You got a new TV?

Ted - Yeah.

Roxi - This looks pretty expensive.

Ted - It was a gift, from my parents.

Roxi - Oh...

Ted - Yeah. It was my birthday recently.

Roxi - Aww...you didn't tell me.

Ted - It's no big deal. Just another day.

Roxi - You should at least celebrate.

Ted -No, it's fine. Come on.

[ Ted opens the car door for Roxi and they soon are on the road.]

[ A few minutes into the drive...]

Roxi - Do you smell that?

Ted - Oh, don't tell me you just..

Roxi -No. I'm being serious. It smells weird.

Ted - It's an old car, they get that smell sometimes. I'll get it cleaned.

Roxi - Yeah...you should.

Ted - I will.

[ Roxi stares at Ted suspiciously.]

Roxi - Ted...

Ted - Yes?

Roxi - Are you still...upset about the marriage thing?

Ted - No. Why?

Roxi - I...I guess it's nothing.

Ted - One day at a time. Remember?

Roxi - Yeah.

[ Her mind seemingly at ease, Roxi eases back into her seat. Soon they pull up at her apartment. Roxi goes to get out of her seat, but is jabbed in the side by something.]

Roxi - Ow...

Ted - Are you okay?

Roxi - Yeah, something poked me.

Ted - Probably a spring. Those cushions are ripped back there.

Roxi - I guess.

[ Roxi looks down at sees what jabbed her: a pair of handcuffs. She pulls them up and dangles them in front of Ted.]

Ted - Whoa.

Roxi - Where did these come from?

Ted - They're trick handcuffs.

Roxi - Trick...handcuffs?

Ted - Yeah, you know, for close-up magic. Really wows the kids.

[ Wide eyed and almost laughing it off, Ted throws up his hands in mock surrender.]

Roxi - *Snickering* Okay. I believe you.

Ted - Well, that's good. I'll see you.

Roxi - Bye.

[ They kiss, and then, Ted drives away. Roxi turns and stops.]

Roxi - You can come out now.

[ From the bushes, Andrea emerges. ]

Andrea - How long...

Roxi - Long enough.

Andrea - I don't know about this Rox.

Roxi - Why? What did you do?

Andrea - Nothing. I just have a suspicion.

Roxi - So do I.

Andrea - You do too?

Roxi - I think he's lying to me.

Andrea - Well duh.

Roxi - Shut up A. I'm serious.

Andrea - You know for a fact?

Roxi - No, but there's something else there. I'm beginning to see it now.

Andrea - So...what do we do? You wanna follow him.

Roxi - No, but I'm going to check something.

Andrea - What's that?

Roxi - He told me it was his birthday recently.

Andrea - So?

Roxi - He told me before his birthday was December.

Andrea - Oooh...the plot thickens.

Roxi - You know, this guy was your pick.

Andrea - You're going to hold me to that aren't you?

Roxi - That you can pick lying jerks? No, I won't hold that against you.

Andrea - Good.

[Roxi is in her apartment, talking to Vision.]

Roxi - Vision, I need you to do something for me.

Vision - Sure.

Roxi - I need you to...look up my boyfriend in the Guild's crime database.

Vision - I can...but..are you sure you want to really know?

Roxi - I need to clear this dark cloud I have over my head. I want to like him, there's something there.

Vision - Alright, I'll check it for you.

Roxi - Ted Cline.

Vision - Checking... huh, that's funny...

Roxi - He's clean?

Vision - Well, sort of. I'm not getting any hits for Ted Cline.

Roxi - Well, that's good, right?

Vision - Yes and no, Let me check other databases...

[ A few anxious moments pass...]

Vision - Nothing. Nothing at all.

Roxi - Well, that's good, right?

Vision - No, Rox, I mean like he doesn't exist.

Roxi - That's weird.

Vision - I know.

Roxi - I don't like this.

[ Andrea, having overheard everything, dashes into the room.]

Andrea - I can help.

Roxi - What are you talking about.

Vision - I got his licence plate.

Roxi - You did?

Vision - I can run with that.

Andrea - Of course I did.

Roxi - I am both stunned, and...relieved Andrea. I don't know whether to hug you, or kill you.

Andrea - You love me.

Vision - Well Rox...do you want to run with it?

[A Beat..]

Roxi - Do it.

Vision - Alright, Angel, give me the number.

Andrea - Putting it in.

Vision - Checking...

Roxi - ...Anything?

Vision - Good...lord..

Roxi - Vision...

Vision - He's..

Roxi - You're scaring me..

Vision - I...I'm sorry Roxi, I really am.

Roxi - How...how bad is it?

Vision - The man has a record a mile long. I'll...I'll send it to you...if you want. But my advice is to call the police. Stay away from this guy Rox, He's bad news.

Roxi - What do you mean? I need to know Vision...

Vision - Rapes. Murders. Kidnapping, Assaults. This...this is unspeakable.

Roxi - This is a joke, isn't it? Just between you two...It's not funny.

Vision - No Rox, it's not a joke. I'm telling you the truth... I'm sorry.

[ Later, Roxi is still in shock over the news.]

Andrea - You...doing okay?

Roxi - How could I have been so stupid?

Andrea - You're not stupid.

Roxi - Andrea, I had sex with that animal. That..horrible, horrible slime..

Andrea - You didn't know.

Roxi - I should have!

Andrea - Maybe, but that's not important.

Roxi - Oh, and what's important?

Andrea - You're safe. I mean, how many times were you alone with him?

Roxi - I...quite a few actually.

Andrea -  But he never did anything.

Roxi - So, maybe this guy isn't my Ted Cline?

Andrea - Well, according to Vision, Cline isn't his last name. It's Cromwell. But... Maybe he's...reformed.

Roxi - Or a really good liar.

Andrea - Either way. You can forget about him now.

Roxi - How can I forget? He was so nice to me. He was great. He was so caring, loving...how could he be such an animal?

Andrea - People sometimes aren't who you think they are.

Roxi - I don't know anymore. I need to see him.. talk to him.

Andrea - What? Are you out of your mind! Who knows what he's capable of.

Roxi - I can't just not see him anymore,.

Andrea - Yes. You sure can, and you will.

Roxi - Are you going to treat me like a child now?

Andrea - Yeap. And you're grounded.
