23rd June 2013 – Into the Void IIThe scene fades in to the sight of the Recreation, Intramural, and Athletics Complex on the University of San Diego campus. Many of the fans had arrived there early to capture a glimpse of their favourite SCW performers, this would be the night where Sin City Wrestling performed their second annual ‘Into the Void’ supershow, some had already seen the announce team, ring crew and some wrestlers arrive ahead of the show. The sound of a Heavily revved engine can be heard, a Black Classic Dodge Charger R/T passes the crowd followed by a heavily moded Harley Davidson motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle is wearing black boots, denim jeans with a white t-shirt and leather vest jacket, his head has a bandana covering his blond hair and a pair of sunglasses, the crowd acknowledge the driver as he raises one hand up towards them as being Landon Axel. The Dodge Charger pulls up into the allocated parking places, killing the engine and stepping out to a huge cheer, wearing pretty much the exact same clothes but no bandana or glasses and having a cigarette in mouth is Ethan Brody. Landon pulls up beside Ethan with a huge smile on his face.
Landon Axel: I told you driving would be worthwhile!
Ethan takes a long drag of his cigarette before dropping it on the floor and stubbing it out, Ethan extends his hand out and moves his fingers up, Landon oblivious to his as he switches his engine off before turning to see Ethan’s hand motion.
Landon Axel: Oh come on!
Ethan continues to do the hand gesture, Landon looks in shock, stepping off his bike and readjusts himself.
Landon Axel: Look, I think it was a solid draw at least, if not that I’d have to call into judgement your unsporting conduct of cutting me up! That should null and void our wager at least!
Ethan glares at Landon who tries to smile, a little reluctant as he let out a sigh, reaching into his jean pocket.
Landon Axel: Fine.. you win.
Landon pulls out a couple dollar bills and slaps them into Ethan’s gloved hand, he glances down to see what he’d given him, Landon is about to turn around but Brody nudges him.
Landon Axel: Alright, alright. I hope you realise that this is my vending machine money you’re taking!
Ethan Brody: I’ll live.
Landon pulls out some more dollar bills and gives them to his partner, checking the amount before satisfyingly placing it into his own pocket, Axel grabs his bag out whilst Brody does the same. The two are about to walk off before Landon stops, placing a hand on Brody’s bicep, Ethan stops reluctantly and looks at his partner.
Landon Axel: Shouldn’t we acknowledge the fans, give them a signature or two, after all it is their Into the Void show?
Ethan Brody: If you feel the need to do that, clear your conscience, fine. Do it. But I want to prepare for our encounter with Sinful Obsession, Gabriel and Despayre. No distractions and I might even ask for my own personal space away from you!
Landon looks a bit shocked.
Landon Axel: Why do you need to be away from me for? I’m your partner, Ethan, surely we need to be coherent, I won’t be a distraction or distracted..
Landon looks down at the ground
Landon Axel: ..Oo a quarter!
Ethan sighs and continues to walk into the wrestler’s entrance of the Recreation, Intramural, and Athletics Complex. Landon walks over towards the queue of fans, running down the line giving high fives before taking the time out to sign a few autographs. Ethan walks through the hallway leading towards the wrestlers changing area, finding the piece of A4 paper stuck to a door that reads ‘Guns For Hire’, Ethan pushes the door aside and steps into the small room, placing his bag down on the chair and begins to pace around the room. Enjoying the peace and quiet before their huge encounter with the longest reigning tag team champions in SCW history, not only that but they’d be facing Ben Jordan and Mickey Carroll for the ACW Tag Team Championships too, possibly a huge month for the Guns For Hire since their defection from the NWA. A knock at the door sounded which caused Ethan to stop pacing. A man wearing an SCW shirt peers around the door, holding a telephone close to his shoulder, he looks slightly concerned as he stares at the intimidating stature of Ethan Brody.
SCW Employee: Mister Brody, there is a call for you, he said it’s personal and very urgent.
Ethan nods as the employee extends his arm out and hands Brody the telephone, the employee steps out of the room leaving Ethan slightly perplexed, he lifts the phone up to his ear and listens to see if he could work out who it was before speaking.
Ethan Brody: This is Ethan Brody, who is this?
Voice at the end of the Phone: Major General Ethan Brody, this is the Royal Army Medical Corp’s chief Medical Officer, Matthew Todd, It is with grave duty that I inform you that Lieutenant-General Arthur Nathaniel Brody has passed away.
Ethan Brody looks in utter shock.
Voice at the end of the Phone: My thoughts are with you, Major General, there was nothing we could do to save his life.
RAMC’s Chief Medical Officer continues to talk but his words are muffled as all Ethan can hear is the sound of his heart, Brody slumps down on top of his bag and lowers the phone as his entire body become numb through shock. The SCW Employee knocks the door again and enters, he sees the shocked state of the wrestler and asks if he had finished with the phone, Ethan doesn’t even acknowledge or hear his request as the employee takes the phone from his limp hand and makes his exit. Only a few minutes pass as the door swings open and an overexcited Landon Axel steps in with a beaming smile on his face.
Landon Axel: You can feel the excitement, Ethan, the crowd is really ready for tonight and the electricity flowing is... AHHHHH... INCREDIBLE!
Landon chucks his back down, completely oblivious that his partner is in complete shock, usually Brody is cold towards him so it didn’t make any difference if he answered or not.
Landon Axel: I know the challenge of Sinful Obsession is going to be vast, but if a make-shift team of that dwarf enigma Lucian Frost and Kain can do it, what says we can’t defeat them and push on towards the Tag Team Championships! Hell we’re going to end the reign of Ben Jordan and Mickey in Atlantic Championship Wrestling soon enough and become...
He turns to face Ethan and his excited face drops
Landon Axel: ...What’s up?
Ethan Brody: Lieutenant-General Arthur Brody has passed away.
Landon shrugs his shoulders with a perplexing look to his face
Ethan Brody: My father.
Landon Axel: Oh I’m so sorry, Ethan
Ethan leans his head back and stands up, blowing his cheeks out and exhaling slowly, Landon looks at his partner with concern as Ethan looks at Axel.
Ethan Brody: I’m going to honour my work commitments but I’m going to evaluate my career.
Landon concern turns to shock.
Landon Axel: I know this is hard but don’t throw away your career!
Ethan planes a hand on Landon’s shoulder
Landon Axel: You can’t!
Ethan Brody: I’ll see you out there.
Ethan pats the shoulder of Landon and walks out of the locker room, Landon spins around and rushes to the door, yanking it open to see his partner walks down the hallway. The urge to shout out after him was great but he chose not to be selfish and allow the man who lost his father time to reflect. A sinking feeling in his stomach began as he knew they weren’t going to win here tonight, nor the chance to be ACW Tag Team Champions, the chance he so eagerly wanted to be SCW & ACW Tag Champions is slowly crumbling away.
Landon looks around for Gabriel, but Gabriel is already on his feet and charging towards Landon, jumping in the air and taking him down with a one handed bulldog. Gabriel gets up and looks at Despayre, reaching out his hand and tagging in his partner. Despayre enters the ring to cheers as Gabriel directs traffic. Gabriel points to the top rope and Despayre starts to climb. Gabriel lifts Axel's legs and locks him in a sharpshooter, rolling him over. Despayre reaches the top and dives off, nailing Landon with a legdrop across the head. Gabriel breaks the sharpshooter and Despayre rolls Landon over, going for the cover and Jasmine St John drops to count.

Simone: I think the tag team champions will be looking over their shoulders. Ethan Brody tried to show heart throughout the contest, Landon Axel was tagged in and was lamb to the slaughter at the hands of Despayre and Gabriel, the Guns For Hire Lost the match to Sinful Obsession and was the last time they’d appear in an SCW ring. Fades Away to Black.
6th August 2013 – Cambridge City Cemetary, Cambridge. United KingdomThe scene fades in on a grey filled sky, a small aircraft had just taken off from a nearby airport, the distant sound of the passing traffic can be heard as Ethan Brody stands perfectly still. Wearing his Army suit with his honours sewn on, his elderly mother sitting in a wheelchair with her carer standing behind, a lot of his fathers close friends, army comrades and representatives of the current Army standing to Ethans Right. Standing before them perched above a shallow grave is a coffin, draped over it is the Union Jack Flag with Ethan’s fathers Army Cap placed on top, the minister stands just in front of the holding the holy bible as he looks around at the people attending the funeral. Ethan cannot take his eyes off the coffin before him, it is hard to contemplate that the man who raised him and cared for him was in there, although his spirit has gone the cadaver remains and deep inside he cannot bear to say goodbye.
Minister: Here is a poem, written by Thomas Gray, found amongst Arthurs processions.
Here, freed from pain, secure from misery,
lies a child, the darling of his parents' eyes:
A gentler lamb n'er sported on the plain,
A fairer flower will never bloom again:
Few were the days allotted to his breath;
Now let him sleep in peace his night of death.Ethan breaks his view from the coffin to look down at the ground below, tears roll down his cheeks, biting his bottom lip with all his might as he looks back up and raises his hand up to solute as the coffin slowly gets lowered down into the ground. Ethan’s mother grasps onto his other hand as the carer pushes her wheelchair next to him, she looks up at her son and smiles with pride, she is holding onto a rose and she drops it into the grave. Ethan lowers his arm down as everyone says there goodbyes, he doesn’t leave that position until everyone had gone, he gazes at the tombstone and down into the grave before dropping down to his knees and breaking down in tears.
Landon Axel had been watching the proceedings from afar, being respectful by wearing smart casual get up and his hair waxed back, he stands near his hire car watching his tag partner break down before him. After a little while Ethan gets up and heads down the small mound towards his car, he notices Landon Axel walking towards him, Ethan tries to compose himself as best as possible as Landon extends his hand out in friendship.
Ethan Brody: I’m done..
Ethan shakes his head and brushes passed Landon, jumping into his car and pulling away, Landon stands and watches him pull away with a look of horror on his face. It had been him who got Ethan back into the industry to take on the alliance and ACW, Axel couldn’t predict that this tragedy was going to happen, but he signed a contract with ACW and SCW of being a tag competitor. Essentially by doing this he had halted his career. Guns For Hire, for now, was out of business. Scene fades to black.
24th November 2013 – Axel’s Auto Body Shop, Galveston, Texas.The scene opens to the sound of the telephone ringing, Landon chucks his tool down and rubs his greasy hand on his denim jeans, wiping his forehead with his forearm, Landon walks into the office and picks up the telephone.
Landon Axel: Galveston’s Auto Body Shop, Landon speaking.
Voice at the end of the phone: Hello, is this Landon Axel?
Landon Axel: You’re speaking to him.
Voice at the end of the phone: Usually I do business with Mister Brody but I cannot get a hold of him, I’m a representative of a travelling wrestling production. Basically we go from town to town across the country giving affordable family entertainment. It’s called the All-Stars Tour and we’re wondering if we could possibly get Guns for Hire for a couple of dates?
Landon sighs and perches himself on the desk.
Landon Axel: Usually if the pays right, you can count on us, however due to unforeseen circumstances I’m currently riding solo. I’m free if you wanted…
Voice at the end of the phone: No offence, Mister Axel, but it wouldn’t be right hiring just one half of a team. You’re nothing without Ethan Brody.
Landon Axel: Together we’re a force to be reckoned with, the unlikeliest of duos that can perform as a solid unit, I can cut it on my own you know! It isn’t Ethan Brody plus one or the Ethan Brody tag team! It’s Guns for Hire, I’d like to emphasis the ‘S’! Look thank you for the enquiry but I don’t think the “All-Star’s” can handle me or GFH.
Before the person at the other end could answer, Landon slams the phone down, gazing out of the office door to the work load that awaits him. Landon is about to walk out but he stops, looking at a couple of pictures on the wall of him and Ethan, hanging out at their favourite bar and a recent picture of them competing in ACW. Landon grabs his motorcycle keys and heads out of the auto body shop. Taking a short drive to the local bar, hoping to see Brody’s Dodge Charger but nothing was there, Landon parks up and pushes the door open to step inside. The usual faces greeted Axel but none of them where Ethan. Axel sighs and sits down at the bar, the barman hands him a frosted beer, Landon lifts it up and takes a long swig from the beer.
Barman: Where is your bald headed, limey friend?
Landon Axel: I wish I knew
The barman looks around to see if anyone is looking before sliding a bit of paper across the bar.
Barman: Rumour has it he’s opened up a bar here.
Landon looks slightly confused as his heart skipped a beat, unfolding the paper to read the address, he doesn’t waste anytime finishing his beer before rushing out of the bar. The barman smiles as he picks up the empty beer bottle. Landon leaps onto his motorcycle and heads down the highway in search of his partner.
The journey had been a long one but finally he had found the bar, seeing the classic Dodge Charger symbolic to his partner parked out front, Landon pulls up next to it and is about to walk in when the door flings open and a man is hurled out of it. The man lands with an almighty thud as Ethan Brody walks through the door, glaring at the man who stumbles to his feet and almost runs away, Brody didn’t notice his partner standing there as he turns and enters his establishment. Landon walks in afterwards to hear an unfamiliar song being blasted around the bar.

Ethan Brody: You just going to stand there or you want a drink?
Landon smiles.
Landon Axel: I was going to say turn that music back to that Fox song, kinda catchy wouldn’t you say?
Ethan glares at Landon, who returns the favour by beaming at him, Brody shakes his head as he walks behind the bar.
Landon Axel: I know you said you were done but please reconsider.
Ethan Brody: And why should I do that?
Landon Axel: Because this isn’t you…
Ethan pours a shot of whisky into a glass and downs it
Landon Axel: well, that is you…
Ethan sparks a cigarette up and takes a long intake before blowing the smoke in Landon’s direction.
Landon Axel: Against the law but that is you…
Ethan gives Landon a cold stare.
Landon Axel: Alright, Okay that is you too, but THIS isn’t you! You’re my ass kicking partner, we get hired by weaker men to beat down people, we wrestle and compete as a solid unit. We’re Guns for Hire. I saw that sparkle in your eye when you hurled that guy out, you have still got it Ethan, I plead to the man who reached the semi-finals of king of the deathmatch, I reach to the man who craves success, I beg to the man who I want to see return to wrestling and complete the unfinished business we had in Sin City Wrestling!
Landon watches the reaction of Ethan Brody, listening to every word his partner was saying, taking another drag from his cigarette before stubbing it out on the bar. Landon looks slightly disheartened as it looked like Ethan was going to decline, Brody glances around the bar before looking straight into the eyes of Axel.
Ethan Brody: Let’s do this!
21st December 2013 – Gold Coast Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada The scene fades into the sight of the Guns for Hire, standing inside of the Gold Coast Casino, SCW technicians are setting up the room where Climax Control is going to be staged. Landon is holding a can of energy drink, swigging away as Ethan Brody stands in front of him, looking towards the half built six sided ring.
Ethan Brody: Due to an unexpected turn of events in my life, Guns For Hire had to stop touring Atlantic Championship Wrestling and Sin City Wrestling, I did it with a heavy heart but now is the time for my return.. OUR return. Last week we organised a meeting, a meeting to see if the Guns could return and accomplish what we first set out to do, fortunately for us we got a return deal and we now re-debut against the sinister force that is ‘The Saviours’.
Landon crushes the can, looking left and right shiftily, he drops the can onto the floor and begins to whistle ‘innocently’.
Ethan Brody: I have seen the chaos you have caused the SCW over the past few weeks, ending the career of Max Burke, giving many superstars trips to the local A&E, finally unmasking after the main event to show that Sparrow has returned. You do not know much about me or my partner, Scott, but we know plenty about you. How your Samoan isn’t exactly the most sharpest knife in the draw, putting a simple sentence together is somewhat a struggle, yet his potency in the ring could be considered deadly. But having seen the 2008 BK tournament, where him and his brother failed miserably in the tag match, I don’t fear him nor do I see him as much of a threat but I am not counting my chickens just yet. Your son was born Deaf, I’m presuming he is still mute to the world, if that is the case then this is just for you so you can understand it plain and simply.
Ethan raises his middle finger to the camera.
Ethan Brody: You may have put many of SCW’s finest on high alert but Guns for Hire are returning, we’re not easily intimidated, we may be seen as the first official victims in your first official match but I see this as a wakeup call. You’re no longer hiding behind hoods or doing cloak and dagger stuff, you’re exposed as the people you are and when you step into that six sided ring with myself and Landon, you’re going to see why we’re one of the most dominating Tag Teams this company now processes! The Saviours may have a personal vendetta against the SCW, destroying it’s foundations, but the Saviours will be the ones who’ll need salvation!
Ethan smiles as the scene fades away to black.
