“Prelude to High Stakes!”
« on: September 27, 2019, 09:32:51 PM »
Caleb ultimately came up short in his quest to become a two time SCW Mixed Tag Team Champion after Jessie was pinned by Emmie Ward but as the Paradise Lost Tour took the SCW roster to the Greek island of Andros both he and Jessie were in action again, this time on opposite ends of the card in singles competition and this week Caleb was taking on one of the competitors in the Fatal Four Way at High Stakes Stephan Callaway!

Stephan had made his debut two weeks ago defeating Alex Rush in singles competition and impressed Mark Ward so much that he was added to the Fatal Four Way Mark was setting up for High Stakes, this match was going to act as a prelude of sorts to the Fatal Four Way Match featuring the two youngest competitors (that we know off) in the match and Stephan was coming into the match with an impressive track record of title reigns outside of SCW but can he cut the mustard against Caleb? Or was he nominated for Future Star of the Year award too early.

Some people get all the luck.

I am off course referring to Jessie’s title shot on Sunday but in all honesty. I wish her well and I think that the Bombshells crapping all over her (and Jack Asher) are just being assholes but that’s my take at least, besides I’ve got my own matches to worry about this week on Climax Control and at High Stakes and what a coincidence, one of the men I’m facing at High Stakes happens to be my opponent, Stephan Callaway got into this match by beating Alex Rush on his debut and I’m serving as his first real test.

At least he’s not as unlucky as Malachi and getting Fenris as his first opponent!

Off course I have other things on my mind, I am up for two awards in the year end awards this year (Best Feud vs. Fenris and Match off the Year for the Lion’s Den Match against Fenris, there’s a sick joke in that I just know it) and Stephan is also up for an award, namely Future Star of the Year award even though he’s only been employed by the company for two weeks.

I would ask if SCW is seriously that low on new talent but then again, Bella Madison and Andrea Hermendez are also up for the award and have been around for just as long, difference is they have wins over Hall of Famers and Stephan has a win over Alex Rush.

“When the TripAdvisor review said that most of the ship was gone thanks to the storms, it wasn’t kidding.” Katie commented breaking my train of thought as I looked up. “But at least the beech is beautiful.”

“I know right? Maybe we should come back here later and do some sunbathing.” I suggested and Katie grinned apparently loving the idea, the fact that it was a beautiful day certainly helped matters. “By the way, where’s the rest of the tour group?”

“Hmmm?” Katie asked before looking up and realizing that the tour group had already left. “Don’t suppose they do Uber here in Andros, do they?”

“I know it’s available over in Athens but that’s six hours away.” I responded as I shook my head, fortunately for us I spotted the number for a local taxi company and (after asking one of the few hotel receptionists who spoke fluent English to translate it for me to be sure) I added the number to my phone. “Shouldn’t be that hard to call a cab, right?”

“Give me the phone.” Katie responded as she held her hand out. “I have an aunt who’s Greek, remember? I’m not exactly fluent in the language but I know enough to make calling for a cab a lot easier.”

“Either way, we are not living this down when we return to the hotel.” I joked getting a laugh out of Katie before I handed her my phone. “Just don’t look at the Google app.” I added semi-jokingly and Katie shook her head.

“If you’ve been looking at porn again, your sleeping on the couch for the entirety of the next Supercard Cycle.” Katie warned me before checking the Google app and giving me a knowing look when she realized that I  was joking. “You want to get your promo started whilst I’m on the phone Caleb? Or do you want to wait a bit?”

“I’ve got a bit of time left but I did watch Stephan’s promo before we headed out.” I responded as I checked the time on my watch and Katie dialed the number for the cab company. “He kept his promo short and sweet so maybe I can do the same.”

“Either way I’m sure you’ll beat him on Sunday.” Katie responded before turning her attention away from me to conduct her call, I couldn’t tell if her Greek was good or not but for now that was background noise as I got ready to do my promo.

“Sun, Sea, Sand and wrestling, for many wrestling fans attending shows on this tour this is a dream come true but this Sunday the beautiful views will be the last thing on my mind as I get set to take on Stephan Callaway in singles competition in a match that could be considered a prelude to High Stakes considering that we are competing in the Fatal Four Way against Jake Raab and the mystery opponent! Well there’s one thing that isn’t a mystery in this match and that’s the fact that I’m going to win.”

Simple as that.

“I do want to address one thing you said in your promo Stephan, where are all the guys who just wrestle and what is with all the wannabe rock stars? Well for starters I was in a local band back home in Syracuse, New York  before I left that band to join SCW but that’s beside the point, I might be a metalhead Stephan but I’m a guy who just wants to wrestle as well, I just so happen to be a fan of metal on top of that and this Sunday you’ll learn the consequences of not taking me seriously!”

And speaking of not being taken seriously.

“But I will give you credit for winning your debut match, not a lot of people manage to pull that off in SCW, that said your debut match was against Alex Rush, nothing against Alex Rush but I’m pretty sure my wife can kick his ass and she’s not a trained wrestler, nor has she ever had an interest in sports in general outside of wrestling, what I’m saying is Stephan is that to get noticed, you’re going to have to beat someone with credentials and your not getting the win over me!”

In the singles match or the Fatal Four Way.

“And before someone on twitter asks, “what credentials”, one time Mixed Tag Team and Roulette Champion, thank you very much! Granted those reigns didn’t last long but I still have better credentials than Alex Rush and we’ll see on Sunday if you can hold your own against someone who can actually win a match! And I can already hear the wrestlers on Twitter laughing their asses off, so I’ll just leave that there!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“Between us Stephan, we’re the youngest guys in the Fatal Four Way that have already been announced but this Sunday we’ll find out who the better man is, spoiler alert: it’s me! And as for you Stephan, you had better brace yourself because there is a storm brewing, otherwise you’ll be blown away by “The Metal Storm” Caleb Storms, also you misses the s at the end of my surname and that has been bugging me since I watched your promo so you’ve got that to worry about as well.”

Katie called me over as the cab driver pulled up as the scene fades.
