“Oh I’ve been waiting for this!”
« on: March 29, 2019, 09:03:14 PM »
It was time for SCW’s annual Blast from the Past Tournament and last week four teams advanced to the quarter finals, namely Amy Santino and Senor Vinnie, Blade Alexander and Alicia Lukas, Travis Levitt and Valentina and Kale Smith and Brittany Williams and this week would see four more teams advance as the opening round continued, one of the first round matches featured three returning wrestlers and one who had been a part of Blast from the Past since its inception as Jessie Salco teamed up with Andrew Garcia to take on Jessie’s old rival Amanda Cortez and her former NXT Teammate Jamie Staggs, will this finally be the year where Jessie wins?

Got to love it when SCW stops in a city that just so happens to be hosting a thrash metal gig the same weekend.

That’s basically what’s happening tomorrow night as Gamma Bomb are playing a venue called Voodoo and we figured “why the hell not” and got ourselves tickets but that’s not the only thing on my mind this weekend, it’s my first match in this year’s Blast from the Past Tournament and well, the title for the tournament is certainly fitting as it features three faces from my past here in SCW, Andrew Garcia returns as my partner after serving as my partner in the 2015 edition of the tournament, my old NXT Running Buddy Jamie Staggs has come out of retirement for the tournament and he will serve as Andrew’s opposition in this match and then there’s my opposition, Amanda Cortez.

Hooo boy, do I have a lot to say about the so called “Tattooed Goddess”, hell if more recent pictures of her are to be believed she’s had all her tattoos removed.

I’m not going to spoil too much because I’m saving that for my promo, though that’s not to say that I’m not preparing for the match because, well, why else would I be at this gym? Stay in shape? Okay, that too but I’m primarily here to prepare for the match, as for whether I’ll win, let me summarize my thoughts on the possibility of Amanda beating me by laughing in your face.

And before anyone brings up the fact that she won our feud back in 2013, that was six years ago and I’m not the same wrestler I was back then, hell I’m not even sure if Amanda still wrestles, I know she’s employed by a place called Kats Foxy Boxing but (I can’t believe I have to point this out) boxing isn’t the same as wrestling and judging from some of the pictures I’ve seen her post on her twitter account, I’m not even sure if it’s a boxing promotion either.

I’ll just say this, this is the rare instance of where I’m in complete agreement with Alicia Lukas.

“Okay, just a few more rounds on the treadmill and I’ll be done.” I muttered to myself as I upped the treadmill’s speed to the highest setting and picked up the pace so that I wouldn’t lose my footing, Shane and Jake were over at the bench press with Jake doing some weights and Shane watching him to make sure nothing went wrong but we were one of the few people in the gym due to how early it was, not that I’m complaining because privacy won’t be hard to find when it comes time to do my promo. “How’s Jake doing?” I asked after I finished on the treadmill and walked over to my husband and step-brother.

“As well as he normally does, rally.” Shane shrugged as Jake continued to press weights. “I’d almost be tempted to up the weights but after what happened last time, I did that I think not.”

“That was because you did it whilst I wasn’t paying attention.” Jake pointed out as he finished on the weights and put them back into place before sitting up. “Still a total dick move by the way.”

“I said I was sorry, didn’t I?” Shane protested and Jake shook his head before taking a sip from his water bottle. “At least we have two things we can look forward to this weekend.”

“Yep, the Gamma Bomb show tomorrow and Climax Control on Sunday.” I nodded in agreement as Jake set down his water bottle. “Wonder if I’ll run into any autograph seekers whilst we’re at the show.”

“Could happen, I mean you had a few when we went to that local metal show in California during the Supercard Break.” Shane shrugged his shoulders in response before realizing something. “Huh, isn’t Bloodstock’s Metal 2 The Masses Tournament going on now?”

“Oh yeah.” I nodded before looking up the Ireland edition on my Facebook wall. “Unfortunately, the next heat is this Sunday, don’t think the bosses will be too happy with us sneaking out of Climax Control to attend a metal show.”

“Sucks but what can you do? Other than kick ass in SCW.” Shane responded with a shrug and I nodded before we finished our workouts, I checked the time on my iPhone and realized that we still had time for lunch and Shane realized it too. “You guys want to grab a bite to eat at the hotel or outside the hotel?” Shane asked and it didn’t take me long to decide or Jake long to agree to eating out as we hadn’t done much of that all week, that left only one thing for me to do. “You want to do your promo whilst we get changed?” Shane asked and I nodded before they walked off leaving me to do my promo.

“I don’t think the Blast from the Past tournament name has ever been more fitting for me as it has in this year’s tournament! Or more specifically, my first match of the tournament! My tag team partner, Andrew Garcia, was my partner for the 2015 edition and my opponents are both names from my past, my old NXT buddy Jamie Staggs and Amanda Cortez, to be honest, I was hoping I’d get Amanda in the first round, why? Well, here’s what I said when I saw this week’s card: “oh I’ve been waiting for this!”.”

No prizes for guessing who I’m starting with.

“Amanda, one of my first major rivals in SCW from way back in 2013, back when only one half of the bosses was a complete and utter asshole, I got into the wrestling business because of strong powerful women that I’d watch on TV, some of whom have been honored in these tournaments and I’m sure the crowd at the SSE Arena will be filled with little girls looking for similar role models, and they will find one, in me as I beat the piss out of a porn star.”

It’s that simple.

“When I finally got around to joining Twitter in 2014 you can imagine my disappointment when I found that a former SCW Bombshell had been posting pornographic pictures of herself and yes Amanda, I am talking about you! I know you aren’t exactly the smartest wrestler around but was porn really the only option open to you when you left the company? And before someone brings it up, yes I did one porn video last year, yes it is out there on the internet for the world to see but I never posted the link or any images from that vid to my Twitter feed and that’s what set my apart from Amanda, that and it was a one time thing, much like Amanda’s participation in this tournament after I eliminate her!”

Next up is Jamie.

“I will say this, I am happy to see Jamie again even if he serves as my opposition, in fact Jamie, remember this?” I asked before holding up my phone and playing “Get Ready for the Smackdown” by Thousand Foot Krunch, NXT’s theme. “Brings back memories, doesn’t it Jamie? We both joined NXT on the same night at the first Summer XXXTreme and, well, not to get sentimental or anything but that night did help cement in my mind that I could make something out of this wrestling career and here I am, seven years on and doing just that, pity that if I don’t pin Amanda Andrew will end up pinning you Jamie.

At that point I awkwardly realized that the song was still playing and paused it.

“We may be old running buddies from NXT but that goes out the window in this match, the only thing that’ll matter is who walks out the winner and goes on to the next round Jamie and as far as I’m concerned? Me and Andrew have our tickets to the next round punched already, as the song goes Jamie “get ready for the smack down” only the smack down will come from Andrew Garcia as we go on to the next round!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up,

“Amanda and Jamie’s chances of winning this match suck more than Amanda does whenever she’s in front of a camera these days because you don’t need to be Nostradamus to see that the clear winners of this match are me and Andrew Garcia as we move on to the next round! This is the “Heavy Metal Angel” Jessie Salco signing off, Amanda, just stick to taking your clothes off for the camera because that seems to be the only thing your good at and I will say that I feel sorry for Jamie because he’s stuck with a useless partner!”

I went off to get changed as the scene fades.
