Climax Control Archives / Disappointment

 “Sheep.”

Ace smirks. The camera opens on a close up of the grizzled veteran. Just him, sitting in a brown leather chair in front of a black back drop. A grey suit adorns the Mega Heel, white dress shirt under his sports jacket, the few top buttons left open, most of which is covered by his graying beard.

“When will Ace Hart decide to care about Sin City Wrestling. That’s the question rolling around the city. Not, wow, Ace has a lot of rust, how could he lose too the people he’s lost too. Not, wow, age has finally caught up with one of the most feared competitors to grace the squared circle. No, it’s when is Ace going to care. When is Ace going to look at us. Crying and bitching on Twitter about how Ace is busy with another company, how DARE he sign back up with the place he’s called home for 20 years. How DARE he be busy with a company that craps out stars better than Sin City. How dare I.”

Ace’s smirk starts to fade. His eyes, a dangerous look.

“You see, most places, most people would’ve just assumed that I couldn’t cut it anymore. But, you all know better, don’t you. You know damn well that Ace Hart hasn’t started piling up the bodies in SCW, because Ace hasn’t cared too. That’s the message I’m getting out of Las Vegas. Well, at least you know your places, but I have to say. For a company that is as ‘respected' and ‘historical' as SCW, chasing my assistants on Twitter crying about my lack of… interest… is very unbecoming. Quite desperate. For a company of such… stature…”

He utters the last line that drips with sarcasm, the arrogant smirk returning.

“Yeah, I came to Sin City Wrestling to climb out of the shadows, shake off some ring rust, and climb back to the top of wrestling. Then the landscape changed. It always does. Other things became more important. That’s the way the world works. That’s the way business works. Welcome to American Capitalism children, I’m sorry it’s been such a hard lesson for you. I’m sorry daddy’s attention has been elsewhere. But please, try and calm down. You fear of inadequacy is showing. It’s pathetic. Ty West, the young man has a bright future. I’d apologize for just showing up and going through the motions, but quite frankly you didn’t deserve much more than that. Don’t complain kid, at least I rolled into town and gave you the rub.”

Ace drums his fingers on the leather armrest of his chair.

“At that would’ve been fine. I’m a man of my word, I’d continue to fly into town and walk out to the ring to do business. I signed on the dotted line, you haven’t heard a complaint from me. You got to have one of the best names in the business walk out there and put people over, give young stars or Underground transfer a little rub for their trouble. What more could SCW want? Pretty easy money in my mind, but you got greedy. You got bitchy, like a sullen whore who doesn’t get paid enough for the job she herself entered into. Crying that I won’t look your way. Well, it worked SCW, I looked your way. Your arm waving, your begging, I’m looking. This weeks it’s, some kind of king? Some kids name I couldn’t care to learn because I won’t bother to remember. His name doesn’t matter because he doesn’t matter. He doesn’t matter, because this place doesn’t matter. Not anymore. Someone said I came to SCW to use it’s name to bring back my own company. Can I ask you… Who from SCW have I taken a look at? Besides the jealous bitching the finally got relayed to me from one of the owners. The only man who seems to have any dignity is Mark Ward, his little partner in crime must be the bottom of the two, because he sure does bitch like the woman of the relationship.”

Ace sighs.

“You know, I did plan on coming here and giving you the best I had to offer. My intentions were pure, although I’m not sure why what has transpired would make any of you anything but happy. I came to clear your roster, to use your young stars as the foundation of rebuilding my name until I moved on to somewhere bigger. Yes I planned to use SCW, but not to promote some other business, please. You were my warm up round. After all, here I am, a veteran, a MAN, standing among insolent little children. Your roster is like a bad high school soap opera. Not a forward thinking one of the bunch. The horde of douchebaggery seen on Twitter was enough to disinterest me. I wanted REAL competition against serious competitors. Not children. So, at Climax Control, I’ll walk out to the ring and do the business against whatever competition you have to offer. I’ll do the job, and I’ll do it without complaint, which is more than I can say for all of you. This company has buried itself in my eyes, just by clawing for my attention. Are things really that dire? For your pathetic, dying little company. You wanted my attention? You wanted me to look your way SCW? I’m looking.”

Ace looks dead eye into the camera.

“All I see, is a disappointment. But, I took out ten minutes of time, just for all of you.”

Ace sits back in his chair and looks at the camera, visibly annoyed.

“Satisfied?”

End.
