The Talk at 30000 feet…

Timeline:  Three days after Summer XXXTreme

The sound of the fasten seat belt sign being dimmed can barely be heard over the soft hum of people talking and the stewardesses moving down the aisle of the Quantas flight on its way to Los Angeles from Brisbane.  Sitting in one of the front seats of business class and dressed in a pair of designer capris and a summery rose pink tee, Cyn Marlowe lifts a full glass of wine to eye level and with a smile, swirls the ruby liquid before bringing it to her lips.  Beside her, Sam Marlowe in a worn pair of jeans and new Sam Marlowe tee slumps into her seat, shrugging slightly as she tries to get comfortable for the long flight ahead of her.  As she lets her eyes drift closed, her attention is grabbed by the voice of her sister floating across the seat.

Cynthia ~Cyn~ Marlowe:    Well we have seen that you have continued your very strong losing streak because you made the mistake of being a good girl and not capitalizing on the fact that you should do whatever was necessary to win.   Your opponent definitely knew how to do that.

Sam sighs as she moves in the seat, turning slightly to her sister and raises only a slender eyebrow.  Cyn continues to watch the liquid in her glass and ignores the glare that Sam is leveling at her.  Warming to her subject, she continues to speak.

Cynthia ~Cyn~ Marlowe:    Now we seriously need to discuss the fact that you really need me at ringside.  I am not going to take no for an answer because seriously little sister you need the help.  We both know that Mother and Daddy would want to see me help you…

Sam says nothing else although to look at her, you can almost hear her inner voice speaking outloud.

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe Inner Voice:    Oh my god Cyn, would you please stop ranting at me.  We so do not know that Daddy would not want you helping me.  And seriously if you keep this up I swear I am going to lose it here on the plane and let you have it for the past ten years’ worth of abuse you have put me through.

Cyn’s voice slowly fades as she realizes that Sam is ignoring what she is saying.  Turning to her younger sister, Cyn brings her hand to the lap of Sam and pats it lightly.

Cynthia ~Cyn~ Marlowe:    Oh Sammiwich, I am soooo sorry.  I just want what is best for you and I want you to win in the worse way.  And I feel I would be so much better able to do that when I come with you to the ring.  I know that you are able to take care of yourself but I want to HELP you win Sammi.

Letting a huff of exasperation escapes from the slumped bombshell as she hangs her head and brings a hand up to rub at her temple.  Cyn smirks as she ducks her own head behind the hand of Sam.

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe:    I get that you want to help Cyn, I really do but I have to do this on my own like I keep saying.  How can I be Sam Marlowe, SCW Bombshell and not Cyn Marlowe’s little sister if I let you fight my battles.  Besides Cyn, it was only my third match and I almost won.  The last two matches…

Cynthia ~Cyn~ Marlowe:    Were losses!

Cyn interrupts her sister then brings her hand up to her lips, mouthing the word sorry but not looking very apologetic.  Sam shakes her head as she once again sighs.  Cyn motions for her to continue talking then actions zipping her lips, locking them and tossing the key.

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe:   As I was saying, I am getting better and I just had the bad luck to be put up against a couple of people that were just a bit better, no biggie.  I mean I can’t expect to win every match I am in.  But I am sure that I won’t be losing all of them either.  I have the next couple of weeks off where I can relax and train and get ready for my first match after the supercard.

With that, Sam moves her seat to recline and tucks her right foot under her left leg as she faces her sister.  Cyn is smiling sadly as she slowly shakes her head.  Seeing that, Sam gets to her feet and opens the overhead compartment and pulls out her purse and begins to paw her way through it looking for something.  Cyn gives her a curious look.

Cynthia ~Cyn~ Marlowe:    What are you looking for Sammi?

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe:   I’ve developed a bit of a headache and think that I am just going to take some Tylenol and then settle down for a bit of a nap.

She shakes the small bottle of pills for Cyn to see then tosses them into the seat before grabbing her ipod and headset.  Putting her purse into the compartment again, she grabs the bottle of pills and then moves towards a stewardess.  Once she reaches the lady pushing the cart along the aisle, she politely asks for a small bottle of water with a smile as the stewardess neatly pulls open the cart and pours a small glass of water.  Thanking her, Sam moves back to her seat and then slumps once more against the plush seat after handing her glass to her sister.  Cyn lays her head back as she watches her sister out of the corner of her eye.

Cynthia ~Cyn~ Marlowe:    Once you take those pills we need to sit here and finalize just exactly what it is I am going to do to get my manager’s licence and help you from now on.

Sam opens the pill bottle and shakes it slightly as two small red pills spill into her hand.  Closing her fingers around them, she recaps the pillbottle and tucks it into her lap and reaches for the water her sister is holding out.  Tossing the Tylenol into her mouth, Sam gulps desperately at the water as she starts to gag against the swallowing of the pills.

Cynthia ~Cyn~ Marlowe:    Still have that gag reflex to taking pills huh?

Sam nods as she continues to swallow the water.  Finishing off the glass, she sets it on the tray table in front of her and catches her breath.  Cyn turns to Sam ready to continue her conversation but Sam quickly holds up a hand as she fights to unwind her ipod with only one hand.

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe:    Cyn, I am not really into talking right now.  I just want to get some sleep and this is going to be a long flight.  You might want to relax and get some sleep yourself.

Cynthia ~Cyn~ Marlowe:     Maybe you are right, I should.  While you rest, I think that I am going to do some strategizing.  After all, I do know most of the bombshells in Sin City Wrestling and I can make notes for you for future matches.

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe:    I would really appreciate that Cyn.  We’ll talk later ok?

Sam picks up the earbuds of the ipod and slides them into her ears then picks up the ipod and presses play.  Very faintly the sound of the Thousand Foot Krutch’s “set me on fire” can be heard as the lights in the cabin begin to darken.  The light above Cyn lights up as she pulls out a book from her bag near her feet and a pen.

Cynthia ~Cyn~ Marlowe:     Oh yes Sammiwich, we will be talking later for sure.

Cyn opens the book and uncaps the pen only to turn at the sound of a slight snore from Sam who appears to be asleep.  Growling at her sister, Cyn can be seen writing something in the book.

Timeline: Last week

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe:    Are you trying to kill me?!?

A sweat soaked young redhead leans against a gate in front of a rather large house in an upper scaled neighborhood in Houston.  Idling nearby is a moped that is straddled by Cyn Marlowe who looks cool and relaxed in a summery dress with a floppy hat hiding her red hair.  Sam wipes at her tangled red curls that are plastered to her forehead.  The half tee that is stuck to her form only accentuates her body and the pair of tight denim shorts hug her hips.  The two could not look more like opposites but Cyn manages a smile for her sister.

Cynthia ~Cyn~ Marlowe:    What is a little run for training?  I was right there with you encouraging you all the way.  Now I would call that dedication, not trying to commit murder.  I figured out what it was that was causing you to lose all the time.

Letting her hair fall to cover her reaction, Sam bends over, intent on her shoe as her inner voice begins the familiar rant that seems to be constant when it comes to Cyn and her training methods.

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe Inner voice:   Here we go.  She’s here to help me and all I can think is that she is sooo not helping.  What can I do though, her intentions are good…aren’t they?  Well I guess that I can give her the benefit of the doubt after all, Daddy did say to humor her.

Looking back up, Sam smiles as Cyn returns the smile.

Cynthia ~Cyn~ Marlowe:    By the way, I was checking your email for you, you know like a good manager should and I found out that you will be returning to Climax Control next week in Paraguay or Uruguay or some such country in South America.  Montevideo I think it was.

Cyn waves her hand airily as if dismissing the whole thing.  Sam straightens and with an excited look, moves to grip the handles of the moped.

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe:    Really, cool.  So what is the match I have then?

With a put upon sigh, the smile on Cyn’s face fades a little.
Cynthia ~Cyn~ Marlowe:    You are curtain jerking again little Sammiwich.  Not where I would put you but I am not the ones booking this show.  I guess they just don’t appreciate you like I do.

Sam coughs to cover the laughter that was about to bubble up at that comment.

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe:   That’s fine, first match will set the tone of the night and if I have a good opponent, might make it a really good night for me.

Cynthia ~Cyn~ Marlowe:    If you follow my advice Sammi, you will probably beat the metalhead Jessie Salco.  At least they gave you an easy match this week.  Even though she is the leech on Amy Marshall’s rear.

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe:    Wow, Jessie Salco huh?  She’s a former champion and all that so that must mean I am moving up in the rankings.

As always, Cyn is there to make sure her sister didn’t get a big head…

Cynthia ~Cyn~ Marlowe:    Or she’s dropping in them.  Seriously, does the sun shine out of your ass or something.  Nobody can be that much of an optimist!   You need to get your head out of the clouds and concentrate on winning, not complimenting your competition.

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe:    Don’t worry Cyn, I am not going to let the fact that she is a former champion faze me and I am not going to take her lightly.  But right now, I am going back to the house and getting in a hot shower then I am going to relax.  Thanks for taking me out for the run.  I’ll see you later.

Before Cyn can stop her, Sam rushes off towards the house and disappears inside.  Once inside Sam makes her way up the staircase and into a room at the end of the hall.  Walking through it towards the ensuite, Sam begins to peel off her shirt and tosses it on a light turquoise princess chair.  In the ensuite she turns on the shower and lets the water heat up while she looks in the mirror.  Pointing a finger into the mirror, she takes a slow breath.

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe:     Jessie Salco, your first opponent on the road to redemption Sammi.  She is the first to have to face you since your last loss and is probably talking trash about how she is going to beat me and badly.  Good for her.  I know that I should be questioning the fact that I have two losses in a row and what I am going to do about it but all I can think about is the fact that I am loving being a bombshell in SCW and that win or lose I won’t ever think of retiring or running with my tail between my legs.  So what if I win or lose, I have lasted longer than Cyn did.

Sam stops at that comment and stares into the mirror, a slow smile beginning to cross her face.

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe:    That’s right…I have lasted longer than Cyn and I am not giving up.  Thank god for small victories and may it lead to bigger ones.

Steam from the shower begins to fog up the large mirror, hiding the image of Sam who begins to whistle as she strips off her workout clothes.  The shower door is opened which lets more steam into the room to completely envelope Sam who disappears into the shower.

Timeline:  Day before Climax Control in Uruguay

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe:    Jessie Salco, former champion and my opponent this week.  I would love to say that I am ready for you and anything that you care to dish out but the truth is that I am more than ready for you.  I have prepared hard for this match and I am itching for a chance to turn my luck around and put a dubya in the books for this match.  I get that you are a tough competitor but when it comes to me, not many have taken me seriously because they think I am nothing but a loser and if truth be told, yes I have lost a couple of matches but that doesn’t mean I am going to continue to lose matches especially now that I have put my mind to focusing on my career in Sin City Wrestling.  And that is exactly what I am going to do.  I am an SCW Bombshell and that means something to me.  It means I am good enough to face any woman in this company and beat them.  Kind of like how I am going to beat you on Climax Control Jessie.

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe:    Sure you are tough and you have won titles before but you haven’t faced me before and trust me when I say I am an unknown to you.  But that doesn’t say much for me if I fade into the background which is probably where you have already figured out is where I belong.  Surprise, because when I get in that ring on Climax Control, I am coming with a whole new attitude and with it I am going to beat you one two three in the ring.  And when you are looking up into the ring lights and wondering where it was that you went wrong, I will be there to hold my hand out to help you up and to let you know that it was because you took me way too lightly.  This match is going to be like my first, a win.

Samantha ~Sam~ Marlowe:    But as the good girl that I am, I want to wish you good luck Jessie.  I want you to know I am looking forward to this match and testing out my new skills.  And that I couldn’t have asked for a better opponent to beat in my first match after the supercard.  See you Sunday.
