“Now THIS is a blast from the past!”
« on: April 13, 2018, 10:22:57 PM »
It was official, SCW had returned and brought back the Blast from the Past Tournament with it and naturally a good majority of their roster returned to the fed on a moment’s notice including Caleb Storms, the youngster has been doing very well for himself in Honor Wrestling since SCW’S closure in January but it didn’t take him long to sign back up for the company and for the Blast from the Past Tournament (after a little prodding from Katie) and his first match back in SCW had been made official.

It was a match between rookies and veterans as Caleb was teaming with Sam Marlowe who had managed to win back the Roulette Championship before it closed and newcomer Nick Steen and Raynin of the Fallen, Caleb was out to do one thing, win his first match back and make it past the first round of the tournament but clearly Nick and Raynin had other ideas but can Caleb and Sam win their first match back and go on to the next round.

Well, that didn’t take long.

Truth be told, I had a feeling SCW would come back eventually but I had no idea that it would be just three months after Full Circle hit the air! Hell, I proposed to Katie thinking that I would never get a chance to go through with my original plan of saving it until I won the world title but here I am three months later in Las Vegas for the rebooted SCW and my first ever Blast from the Past Match as I’m teaming with Sam Marlowe to take on Nick Steen and Raynin.

And I’ve got news for them, if their expecting the same Caleb from SCW’s dying months, well I’ve kept busy since SCW’s closure.

Okay, to be specific I’ve been keeping busy since before the official closure as I joined up with Honor Wrestling before 2017 ended and had my debut literally a few days after Christmas, if this was a couple of years ago I’d be pissed about working so close to the holidays but I’m estranged from my family anyway so its not like it mattered and I got to experience New Years in Spain which was fun to say the least.

But more importantly, I’ve been improving my game since SCW closed and I have a few new tricks up my sleeve.

I’ve heard some people wondering if I’ll be able to keep up with Sam but to be honest I’m more worried about Nick Steen being able to keep up with Raynin! The guy still lives with his mother for fucks sake and I’m pretty sure that he could pass for a YouTuber I subscribe to as well!

The bad news, or good news depending on how you look at it, is that the YouTuber he could pass for is a gaming YouTuber!

“SCW’s back and we’re back in Vegas.” Katie commented before she took a sip from her drink, to commemorate our return to Vegas/the return of SCW we have returned to the metal bar in Vegas that served as our usual hang out spot in Vegas the Friday before a Climax Control, then again, I’m not usually taping a promo on Fridays but what can I say? Time flew away from me! “Feels just like yesterday that you dragged me out in front of a live crowd and asked me to Marry you!”

“It worked, didn’t it?” I asked, and Katie grinned before holding up her engagement ring and I did likewise. “I’m just glad that Samuel McPherson didn’t return with SCW, last thing I need is a restart to that feud on top of the rebooted SCW and my duties in Honor Wrestling.”

“Hey, it was your idea to wrestle for both companies, I’m not sure how we’re ever going to get any private time because of that decision but still!” Katie protested, and I grinned before taking a sip from my drink as the title track from the legendary At the Gates album Slaughter of the Soul started to play in the background. “I was the one who suggested terminating the Honor Wrestling contract and focusing on Sin City but nope! You had to work for both companies.”

“That wouldn’t have worked anyway, when I signed my contract with Honor Wrestling it came it was a no compete cause.” I responded as I shook my head. “Basically, if I leave the company I can’t work for a fed with a TV deal/website for thirty days, and I don’t think Sin City Wrestling’s lacking for either of those things.” I added, and Katie frowned in response. “And besides, with how well I’ve been doing in Honor Wrestling since I made my debut I wouldn’t want to leave anyway!”

“Yeah, I guess I can’t argue with that.” Katie admitted as the song changed to Refuse/Resist by Sepultura. “Shifting the topic back to Sin City, thoughts on the new kid?”

“What? Nick Steen? He calls himself the wasted youth but from I’ve seen he must’ve been wasted when he looked at himself in the mirror and went “Yes! This is the perfect body for a wrestler! Off to wrestling school mom!”.” I responded whilst doing my best impression of Nick’s voice and Katie nearly spat out her drink at my impression. “I thought it was weird when SCW hired a homeless woman last year but a guy who still lives with his mom and does his promos from her bathroom? Yeah, that might just top it!”

“And if he’s anything like Alice Knight he’ll end up being one of the most likeable guys on the roster, only without Christian’s credit card.” Katie responded, and I laughed thinking of all the porn I would’ve brought with Christian’s credit card if I was the age Nick appeared to be. “Still, SCW must be high on him if they signed him despite him being less experienced than you!”

“I have a years’ worth of experience as a wrestler under my belt, Nick? I’ll be surprised if he has a month’s worth of experience!” I responded, and Katie giggled, we continued talking for a bit from that moment on until I remembered that I had a promo to do. “SCW may be back but I still have a job to do.” I stated as I stood up.

“Shame shit, different fed.” Katie responded with a shrug and I grinned in response. “I’ll send you a text if anything happens whilst your outside.”

“I don’t think much will happen outside of that drunkard over there getting kicked out.” I responded as I pointed him out and Katie grinned in response, I exited the bar and found a nice quiet spot and, after chucking when Katie texted me offering a bet on how quickly the drunkard would get kicked out at the rate he was going I got started on my promo.

“When SCW closed I figured there’d be at least two/three years before it rose from the ashes at most, what I didn’t expect was SCW coming back whilst the corpse was still fresh! Yes folks, SCW is back and has brought back the Blast from the Past Tournament and yours truly has signed up for his first Blast from the Past Tournament and you could say that I got the luck of the draw when they held that draw on Twitter the other week, why? Because my partner is the last ever SCW Bombshell Roulette Champion Sam Marlowe and we’re facing the newcomer Nick Steen and Raynin of the Fallen! This is going to be fun!”

And first up is Nick.

“Look, I get that Nick’s in good shape but which wrestling school took one look at a skinny half Asian teenager and went “yeah, we can train him to be a wrestler, what’s the worse that can happen?” now granted I didn’t have an athletic build when I first started out either but I still took the business seriously enough to not conduct promos from my dad’s bathroom on a camcorder, seriously were any cameramen sent to this kid’s house?! And if yes, did they get turned away by his mom? Regardless I’m glad that SCW had the wherewithal to give me an easy first round opponent!”

Sam on the other hand……

“On one hand, I’m excited to see Sam and Raynin duke it out as that is one of my dream matches, on the other hand I’m teaming with Sam for this tournament and I’m worried about how she’ll fare against Raynin but she was able to hold on to that title for a long time before Cadence Carter’s series of matches with her so I’m sure that the current SCW Bombshell Roulette Champion will do well, I hope, if not I can always pick up the slack against Nick!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“Now THIS is a Blast from the Past! At least that’s what I’d say if me and Nick were teaming with literally anyone else in the tournament, but I digress! SCW’s back and everyone’s determined to make an impact but none more so than me because I lost my last SCW match and I need to bounce back big time and what do you know? This tournament provides the perfect platform for just that but in the meantime Nick and Raynin had better brace themselves because there’s a storm brewing, otherwise they’ll get blown away by “The Metal Storm” Caleb Storms and Sam Marlowe!”

I returned to the bar just as the drunkard was thrown out as the scene fades.
