All-Star Roxi #18
« on: May 08, 2020, 11:56:55 PM »
 {The scene opens inside Roxi and Keira’s home, where the duo, having had the week off previously, lounges in their home as there is a light rain outside but strangely some thunder and lightning. Nate sits on Elizabeth’s lap, playing on his tablet until he himself hears the thunder.}

Nate – That was big thunder, huh Gramma.

Elizabeth – Oh yeah. Looks like more rain coming.

Nate – Is the rain from… the sky?

Elizabeth – Yes. Lots of water in the clouds.

Nate – Ohh… Is it a good day today?

Elizabeth – A good day? I think it’s a good day.

Nate – But’s bad outside.

Elizabeth – Well, yes. It’s pretty nasty out there. But, nobody’s outside, so it’s okay.

Nate – Okay.

{Nate goes back to his tablet as Elizabeth kisses him on top of the head. Roxi and Keira are laying on the couch, both looking at their phones, despite the television being on.}

Roxi – So?

Keira – So?

Roxi – What ‘cha got?

Keira – I don’t know. Our options are kind of limited.

Roxi –You gotta have something in mind.

Keira – I mean… if things stay the way they are… It’s really not there. I’m gonna say… tag.

Roxi – Ooh… I like that. But who?

Keira – Maybe they’ll just throw ‘em together or something.

Roxi – Nah… I’m gonna say… Salco.

Keira – For who?

{Elizabeth looks over and is curious as to what the two are doing.}

Elizabeth – What in the world are you two talking about?

Roxi – Opponents for next week.

Keira – I don’t want Salco!

Roxi – They could give you Vargas again.

{Keira visibly shudders.}

Keira – No.

Roxi – Oh, it can’t be that bad.

Keira – I’m done with her. I need someone new. When is Amy Marshall coming back?

Roxi – I suppose that’s up to her.

Keira – I think she just needs some convincing.

{Keira winks and raises her eyebrows up and down. Roxi just rolls her eyes.}

Roxi – Get your mind out of the gutter.

Keira – A girl can dream.

Roxi – Let’s just be realistic.

Keira – I still say it won’t be Salco.

Roxi – So… what do you think?

Keira – I’m gonna go with… Evie for you.

Roxi – What? Evie? No way.

Keira – They can make it happen.

{There is a buzz for Roxi’s phone and she checks it.}

Roxi – Card is out.

Keira – Here we go.

{Roxi continues to look the card, but makes a confused face.}

Roxi – Hmmm…

Keira – Well? What is it?

Roxi – You have…

Keira – Amy Marshall!

{Keira sits up and crosses her fingers, & closing her eyes.}

Roxi – The week off.

{Keira frowns and curls her lip, snapping her fingers.}

Keira – Dang it. Well… who do you have?

Roxi – … Kate.

Keira – Like… Kate Steele?

Roxi – Yes. For the Internet championship.

{Keira cocks her head to the side, standing up and pacing.}
Elizabeth – Is that bad?

Keira – No it’s…. it’s something.

Roxi – You know what the means then.

Keira – I do. You beat Kate, and it’s you… and me.

Roxi – Indeed. I’m… I’m not sure how to feel about this.

{Roxi puts her phone down and thinks to herself for a moment.}

Keira – What’s there to think about? It’s a title match. You need to go out there and win the title. Simple as that.

Roxi – But… then we have to wrestle each other.

Keira – So?

Roxi – I mean… you worked hard to win that contender’s match and everything. I just… I feel like this is lose-lose.

Keira – It’s not. It’s a chance to finally find out some things.

Roxi – You’re not getting the bigger picture here. Look, facing you, it’s never easy, and I don’t enjoy it when we have to fight against each other. Maybe it’s like that for you, but not me.

{Keira stops and puts her hands on her hips and sighs.}

Keira – Roxi, I want you to succeed. That’s how we work. I want you to beat Kate Steele. I want to have a moment with you, in the ring even if we are opposite sides. You don’t need to consider doing this for me. I need to show everyone that I can stand on my own. That’s what this has been about for me!

Roxi – I know that, I feel like I’m taking this from you.

Keira – My shot, was earned. I’m facing the champion at Into The Void. Whether it’s Kate Steele, or you. I have what I want. Just a chance.

Roxi – Are you sure?

Keira – If you don’t give it all you’ve got on my account and you lose to Kate Steele without really trying, you’re not helping anybody. And you know that.

Roxi – …

Keira – You. KNOW. That.

{Roxi finally nods in agreement with her wife.}

Roxi – No, you’re right.  Thanks. I needed that.

{Roxi stands up herself, hugging Keira and turning to her mother as she speaks.}

Elizabeth – Say… isn’t that… what’s her name…you went to school with her…

{Roxi turns back to the television that her mother is pointing at. She sees Heather on the screen, standing next to a younger man. They appear to be at a press conference.}

Roxi – Heather.

{Elizabeth snaps her fingers.}

Elizabeth – Yes, that’s it.

Keira – What’s she up to now?

{Keira’s eyes narrow as she turns, a frown on her face.}

Roxi – Turn it up.

{Heather is speaking as Keira turns up the volume.}

Heather – Introduce, our new CEO, here at Hamilton Dynamics, Warren Williams.

{Heather steps away from the microphone amid the applause, allowing Warren to step up to the podium. He adjusts the microphone level and clears his throat.}

Warren – Good evening everyone. This is a truly historic day in Hamilton Dynamics. I know that, things haven’t been all sunshine and rainbows over the past few years. Some things are downright ugly when it comes to Hamilton. We have gotten a black eye and violated the trust of the public in the eyes of many. Instead of focusing on you, the consumer and the working class people of this great state, and indeed this country, we got involved in projects that were not helpful, and lead to an obvious and perhaps somewhat warranted, bad reputation. Seen as some evil corporation. But, I can assure you, we will be doing our best to regain that trust and to erase any doubts of who we are, and what we’re here to do. I know, those in the “super” community, those who protect our streets from the obscene threats are not our strongest allies. But I think we can make that our first priorities. So, with that, as my first act of being the new CEO, I would like to send a formal invitation, to the two superheroes who feel they have been most harmed by us. Lady Bedlam, and Lady Kat, to join us for a discussion about the future.

{Roxi looks at Keira and then back at the TV before turning it off.}

Keira – This is new.

Roxi – Unexpected too. I couldn’t imagine Heather ever selling off her father’s company.

Keira – This has to be some kind of trick. There’s no way she’s giving it up.

Elizabeth – I think they should at least be given a chance.

Keira – I don’t think you know Heather that well Mrs. Johnson.

Elizabeth – She went to school with Roxi, Sure she had money, and she flaunted it. But at least she got into the family business and not something where she wasted her time.

Keira – Yeah… about that…

Roxi – Heather is just as stuck up as she was back then. Nothing has changed. But this is… this is something new.

Keira – I don’t like it.

Elizabeth – Well… I wonder if the invitation will be accepted.

Keira – Wait…

{Keira holds up a finger as her stomach rumbles.}

Keira – Can we eat first?!

Roxi – You’re unbelievable.

{Roxi grabs the remote and turns the TV back onto the news. The press conference has concluded. As Roxi turns to watch it. Keira and Elizabeth head into the kitchen to try and figure something to eat along with Nate. Roxi continues to watch, and notices that Heather is wide-eyed and looks lost, as if she cannot believe where she is. Roxi arches a brow as the scene fades.}

{The scene now shifts to the Hamilton Dynamics building, where Roxi and Keira, dressed in costume, cautiously approach the front gate. They looks around extremely suspicious, looking for anything out of the ordinary.}

Keira – This has trap written all over it.

Roxi – I don’t’ like it any more than you do.

Keira – Nothing seems to be hiding though, cant’ sense any energy outside of what’s in front of us.

Roxi – Just keep your eyes open.

{The two slowly walk up to the gate, and the security guard steps out of the booth, approaching with his flashlight.}

Security Guard – Can I help – Oh, it’s Lady Bedlam and Lady Kat. I’ll go ahead and let them know you’re here.

{The guard walks back into his shack, and calls up to inform both Warren and Heather that the Heroes are there. Soon enough, the gate opens, and Warren and Heather themselves, come down, unguarded, Warren with a smile on his face.}

Warren – Ah, I’m so glad you two could make it. Please, won’t you come with us? We have much to discuss.

{Roxi and Keira walk with Warren and Heather, still looking around for the trap to be sprung. There is nothing of note the entire walk to the elevators, and no words in the elevators. The group walks to the CEO office where Warren sits down at the desk, and Heather stands to his side.}

Warren – Won’t you please, have a seat?

{The two sit down eyeing Warren, though he has a warm smile as he folds his hands, and clearing his throat.}

Warren – Can I get you anything? Coffee? Water?

Roxi – No.

Keira – Just get to the point. We all know that this company would like to destroy us. It hasn’t been two weeks since something from here attacked me, or threatened the whole city.

Warren – And that is what we would like to talk to you about. You see, we’re eager to change the perception at Hamilton Dynamics. Especially yours. Isn’t that right Heather?

Heather – Yes.

Warren – The whole deal with sending things out to kill you and harness your energies… We’re not some supervillain evil corporation.

Keira – Yes, you are.

Warren – Please, please let me finish. We’re trying to erase all that. From this point forward, we’re no longer in this business.

Roxi – I believe it when I see it.

Warren – I implore you to just give us a chance.

Roxi – Fine. One. And only one.

Keira – I don’t think so.

Warren – It’s all we ask. Perhaps you would just… think about, reconsider.

{Keira sighs.}

Keira – Fine. Like LB said… one chance.

Warren – Excellent. Now, Heather, would you like to say something?

{Heather steps forward.}

Heather – I don’t like either one of you.

Warren – Heather, come now, these are our guests. Don’t you at least want to apologize for the past?

{Heather sighs and grits her teeth.}

Heather – He’s right. I am sorry about… trying to kill you both. I let the power go to my head and everything. I was… I was wrong about you guys. You do… some great work and keep the city safe. We’re aiming to work alongside you instead of against you.

{Keira eyes Heather suspiciously.}

Keira – I don’t buy that for a minute.  You’ve been aiming to kill me for years.

Heather – And that stops today.

{Keira turns her head, arching a brow.}

Keira – Oh really?

Heather – Yes.  Really.

Warren – We are in the process of making a lot of changes. I’m sure you both saw the building, and how it’s now more like an office. This is just the beginning of our changes. We just want to be sure that you both know, and will see the strides we are making in order to really make that change. All we ask for is a chance.

Roxi – You have your chance. But you’re on the thinnest of ice. This is the only time we will tell you. You cross us, and you will never recover from the bad press.

Warren – Point taken, point taken.

Heather – We are being honest.

{Roxi notices that whenever Heather speaks, her eyes dart around the room. She turns back to Warren.}

Roxi – I have questions of my own.

Warren – Sure… I’ll be happy to answer them.

Roxi – Who… who even are you?

Warren – My name is Warren Williams. I was born in Long Island and –

Keira – She doesn’t need your life story. The more important question is how you ended up buying out Heather.

Warren – I mean, that’s fairly simple. I came to her with money and an offer.

Roxi – And she sold it to you, just like that?

Warren – Yes, I’m not quite sure what you were expecting in this?

Roxi – The why part. That’s the important part. This business has been in Heather’s family for decades. And now she just up and sells it out of the blue?

Warren – Heather? Would you like to explain.

Heather – It was obvious that from the past, we made a lot of mistakes with me a the helm. I don’t have any kids or anything so… we needed to rebrand. And Warren here stepped in.

Keira – I think we’ve heard enough.

Roxi – Heather… let me ask you if I can.

Heather – What?

Roxi – Do you still want to kill us?

Heather – …

{Heather looks around nervously, and Warren simply gestures towards her.}

Heather – No.

Roxi – Really?

Heather – Yes.

Keira – Bull.

Warren – Ladies, you heard it from her. I would think that answers that question, don’t you.

{Roxi and Keira look at each other and sigh. Warren nods and adjusts his tie.}

Warren – Now… to show you that we are serious. We do have one thing for you.

Keira – I knew it.

Warren – I’m sure you will find this most interesting. Maybe it will serve as proof. That we are serious.

{Warren pushes his intercom and speaks.}

Warren – Melody, bring it in.

Melody – Right away.

{After a few seconds a giant crate is wheeled into the room. Roxi and Keira naturally stand up and take up a defensive stance. The crate is opened, and what looks like a human with a faceless mask lays unmoving.}

Keira – I told you!

Roxi – What is it?

{Warren stands up and looks at the person in the box, placing his hands in his pockets as he turns to Heather.}

Warren – This… is the last attempt Heather was going to use to try and destroy you. Heather, why don’t you explain it?

{Heather walks forward, looking at both Roxi and Keira as she speaks.}

Heather – It’s called CopyCat. It was designed to learn your movements and your fighting techniques so it could use them against you. And learn about every single transformation you have and increase it’s own strength to match. We spent millions trying to perfect it.

Roxi – And…

Heather – And… it works. It works exactly as it’s supposed to.

{Heather grabs a controller from the crate and turns the machine on. The faceless mask is penetrated by glowing red eyes as the machine moves forward.}

CopyCat – Analyzing, Lady Bedlam…. Analysis complete. Analyzing… Lady Kat…. Analysis complete.

Heather – Now, it is ready to figth you.

Roxi – Great.

Keira – We’re ready for whatever you want to throw at us, Heather. I knew this whole thing was a joke!

{The Copycat begins to assume a fighting stance similar to Keira’s}

CopyCat – Ka….Me…

{Keira’s eyes widen.}

Keira – What?....

CopyCat – Ha…. Me…

{Heather takes the controller and pushes another button and the CopyCat shuts down, the energy dissipating that it had created. Keira looks at Roxi with a mixture of shock and relief.}

Heather – It is my greatest creation. I know… it would have destroyed the both of you.

Keira – So what’s stopping you?

Heather – Nothing.

{Heather hits the button again and now the CopyCat mimics Roxi’s fighting stance. It dashes around the room at lightning speed, much like Roxi would do in a fight attempting to use speed to her advantage. It stops and readies to throw a punch, but Heather again hit the button and the CopyCat shuts down.}

Heather – It is the perfect fighting machine.

Roxi – So what gives?

{Warren simply walks up to the CopyCat and takes a pen from his pocket. He jabs it into the CopyCats neck, piecing the rubber exterior, and causes the Copycat to short circuit and collapse to the ground. Sparks and fizzing noises escape the machine.}

Warren – We wanted to prove to you that this whole thing, is on the up and up. No tricks, no cute games. The CopyCat is officially out of commission.

Roxi – How do we know that?

Warren – As you can see, this was taken offline. Heather?

{Heather pushes the button, but the CopyCat does not respond. Warren reaches down and into the back of the machine, and pulls out large crystalized power supply.}

Warren – Here.

{Warren walks to the window of the office, and opens it. He motions to Roxi.}

Warren – Pull.

{Warren tosses the power supply into the air, and Roxi blasts it with a shot of energy. The power supply explodes.}

Warren – Satisfied?

Roxi – Not really.

Warren – We will do everything we can to win you over, this is going to be a huge change. A change for the better. The CopyCat was one of a kind. That power crystal, cost millions to develop. We don’t have that kind of money anymore.

Keira – You could have a warehouse full of them.

Warren – According to Heather, we would have only needed one. And now it has been destroyed.
Heather – It’s… gone.

Warren – This was for the best, Heather. You know that, right?

Heather – Yes. Yes it was for the better. I know that.

Roxi – Well… this little… discussion was very… interesting to say the least.

Warren – We assure you, we will change your mind.

Roxi – Somehow, I doubt that. But… you’ve taken a step.

Keira – More like a tip-toe.

Warren – Very well, we will continue to work at making the change necessary.

Roxi – We’ll be going now.

{Roxi and Keira leave the room, and continue to eye everything suspiciously. Once they make it outside, away from anyone listening, they gather their thoughts.}

Roxi – Well… what did you think?

Keira – It’s all crap. Heather is lying through her teeth, and this Warren guy sounds sleazy. I don’t buy it for a second.

Roxi – Something is off about this whole thing.

Keira – I’m telling you this is all a set up.

Roxi – That part may be true. But they did destroy that thing, and it only took seconds for that thing to copy and learn all about us.  I mean, without a second of hesitation too.

Keira – That thing was freaky… It knew my move right away!

Roxi – I know. It’s why it’s so odd that they would destroy it just like that.

Keira – It was odd. I mean…Heather said she spent Millions on that thing. And she didn’t even lift a finger when he took it out, or when you destroyed the power supply.

Roxi – I know, and that’s what worries me more than anything.

Keira – There’s no way that this is legit. No way at all.

Roxi – It’s not that, it’s Heather. Her whole demeanor…

Keira – She did seem a bit… off.

Roxi – She was so… subdued. And did you notice her eyes?

Keira – I tried not to look at her.

Roxi – This is way more than it seems. I’ll give it a shot, but at the same time… there’s something going on, and I don’t like it.

{Roxi and Keira fly away as the scene fades.}

{The next day, Roxi takes a visit to see her old friend, Amy Jo Smyth. She knocks on the door, and soon enough AJ, answers, a surgical mask over her face, and smoke billowing from her front door.}

Roxi – Do I even want to ask?

Amy Jo Smyth – You’re here. So obviously, you need some science, and that’s my shit!

Roxi – I don’t need that kind of science.

Amy Jo Smyth – Oh… we all need that kind of Science! Come!

Roxi – Whatever happened to hello?

Amy Jo Smyth – Hello. Hi. How are ya? Good to see you. Wash you fucking hands!

{AJ grabs Roxi by the land, leading her through the smoke and down into her basement/lab}

Amy Jo Smyth – Now, couple of things here…

{AJ begins to go through her pockets and looking for items. She begins searching for something, until she accidently knocks bottle over. She picks it up and reads what it says.}

Amy Jo Smyth – Ah, here we go, Keira’s pills.

{AJ hands them to Roxi who puts them in her pocket.}

Amy Jo Smyth – She only needs to take one every week. She shouldn’t eat them like they’re candy.

Roxi – It makes her eat like a normal person, it’s fine for me.
Amy Jo Smyth – Feed the poor girl sometimes…

Roxi – I do! I would like to be able afford my house.

Amy Jo Smyth – Didn’t you have it built?

Roxi – It’s an expression.

Amy Jo Smyth – Are you trying to say that Keira would literally eat you out of house and home?

Roxi – You’re making pills to suppress that.

Amy Jo Smyth – …Fair

Roxi – So… what’s with the smoke?

Amy Jo Smyth – Little experiment that didn’t exactly work out. Nothing to worry about.

Roxi – Nothing is ever little, when it comes to your science.

Amy Jo Smyth – You know what they say, shoot for the moon, you’ll wind up in the stars!

Roxi – Can I just…

Amy Jo Smyth – Wait! Hang on…

{AJ goes searching through more drawers and cabinets, before finding two masks, one for Roxi, one for Keira.}

Amy Jo Smyth – I figure you could use these.

Roxi – What’s wrong with the old ones?

Amy Jo Smyth – These have night vision lenses. Could come in handy given how crazy things are.

Roxi – Huh… thanks.

{Roxi takes the masks and pockets them as well.}

Amy Jo Smyth – Now… you’re just in time for the next experiment.

{As if on cue, Roxi’s wrist communicator goes off.}

Roxi – Yeah, gonna have to take a rain check on that, Go ahead Vision.

Vision – Got an odd one for you Rox. A bank robbery.

Roxi – That doesn’t sound odd.

Vision – Except every last dollar was stolen from the bank vault.

Roxi – That’s a lot.

Vision – First National Bank. They think it could be some super villain activity.

Roxi – I’ll be right there.

{Roxi ends the call and turns to AJ.}

Roxi – Sorry AJ, but I gotta run. The whole reason I came over was to ask you to look up something for me.

Amy Jo Smyth – Oh… is that all?

Roxi – That’s it.

Amy Jo Smyth – You know, Google is a thing.

Roxi – A person.

Amy Jo Smyth – Okay…

Roxi – William Warren. He just bought the Hamilton Dynamics company out.

Amy Jo Smyth – Hamilton… Man they make some cool science shit.

Roxi – They make monsters designed to kill Keira and I.

Amy Jo Smyth – It’s the science, not the results. Anyway… didn’t that girl you went to school with run it?

Roxi – Yeah…

Amy Jo Smyth – So what’s up with Warren?

Roxi – That’s what I need to find out.

Amy Jo Smyth – I’ll see what I can do.

Roxi – You’re life saver AJ.

Amy Jo Smyth – I do what I can.

Roxi – And thanks for the briefcase, it came in handy.

Amy Jo Smyth – I told you it would.

{Roxi hugs AJ and quickly departs as the scene fades.}

{Roxi has slipped on her costume, and has teleported to the bank. She enters and the bank itself and sees that everything is bare. She begins to examine the vault along with the forensics team.}

Roxi – Fingerprints?

Team Member – Lots of them. Most likely a lot of them are the branch manager. But we’ll see if anything comes up more than that.

Roxi – No signed of breaking in?

Team Member – No. It’s like all the money was taken out by hand, all the deposit boxes were opened and cleaned out. Along with the cash in the bank. Straight from the vault.

Roxi – Money being traced?

Team Member – That’s gonna be tricky. Money came in from everywhere.

Roxi – There has to be security footage.
Team Member – They’re reviewing it, but so far nothing. Nobody has come into the bank since this whole virus thing started. Everyone banks virtually.

Roxi – Obviously not everybody…. But how do you clean out a bank and no one notices?

Team Member – I think that’s your job.

Roxi – I will have to look at the security footage, but this is… a stumper.

Team Member – No monsters with super human money sucking abilities?

Roxi – Human ones, but they tend to do it behind closed doors out of public view.

Team Member – Fair enough.

Roxi – No one on the street or in the neighborhood saw anything either I bet.

Team Member – They’re canvasing. But you’d need a truck to get everything out of here. And no one saw any sort of vehicle that size parked near the bank to my knowledge.

Roxi – Well… I’m gonna keep looking, I’ll let you know if I find anything.

Team Member – Same. I didn’t think they’re be anyone capable of taking every dollar out of here…

Roxi – Is there anything left?

Team Member – Only things with sentimental value. Anything of monetary value is gone.

Roxi – So… obviously after money… This is a head scratcher.
Team Member – Well, we’ll see what we can find.

Roxi – Me too.

{Roxi walks out of the vault, and out of the bank, confused about what could have happened, as the scene fades.}

No, wait... I can see what you're trying to do. But I'm not biting, Norm. You're not worth it.
-Spider Man (Peter Parker: Spider-Man Vol 2 46)

Hello SCW,

I come to you this week feeling… bittersweet to be honest. I should be standing here right now being able to say that I put a long standing problem to bed, but I can’t. Yes, I beat Alicia Lukas. I knew that I could, but the fact that Bobbi Dahl stuck her nose in this match because she just can’t stand it when other people are doing things that don’t involve her, she had to go and ruin it. And now, until the next time, I STILL can’t say that I beat Alicia Lukas. And that is one of the most annoying things I have to deal with right now, besides being extremely limited on going outside and doing what I want to do. Being restricted sucks. But when you do train, and prepared as best you can for a huge match, and then someone else comes along and ruins it, all the disappointment hits like a punch in the gut. I had been waiting so long for that, and then poof… all of it, up in smoke.

Eventually, I will get Alicia Lukas in the ring again, and I will beat her, and finally, FINALLY even the score. But for now, all I can do, is wait.

And I can also win another championship.

Now, it’s not the championship I was shooting for after losing at Blaze of Glory, I wanted my crack at Andrea Hernandez to finally get the match that I’m sure will be one for the ages, I do get an opportunity to wrestle for the Internet championship.

And for a little bit there, I was… a little frustrated. Crystal beats my wife and she gets a world championship match. I beat the person everyone was fawning over and labeling at an all-time great, and I seemingly get bumped in front of my wife for a championship match she earned. I get it, she’s got her shot lined up. She’s waiting at Into The Void for whomever walks away the champion. So, for a little bit there, I had to think about the aspect of Team Hero facing each other once again and think about how winning this championship and then facing my wife, who’s worked very hard to get a championship match, and having to turn back her challenge…

Or losing to Kate Steele.

And after a little of thought, I have made my decision.

And Kate Steele is going down.

Where do I even begin here with Kate Steele?

The chameleon for sure.

There’s really a bunch of things I could sit here for a long time on. I could talk about how Kate is also a person who really likes to butt into conversations she is not part of, she wants so much to be in the center of every topic or debate. And even asks random questions when she knows nothing about this subject at hand in an effort to fit in. Kate Steele is really desperate for attention. It’s like she has the attention span of a puppy and really you could dangle a string on front of her and she’d be talking about it for 20 minutes off and on because she’d be distracted by someone else having a conversation about something else that also does not really pertain to her. It is how Kate Steele functions. And the truth is, while she can play a mean guitar, there really is no defending her actions and the honest truth is a lot of things she has to deal with, she has brought on herself. She rambles like a crazy person about things she knows enough about to understand minor details and then acts like an expert. She is the epitome of jack of all trades, master of none. She doesn’t know a lot about any one thing in particular. She gets a lot of things factually wrong in arguments. And all the end of it all, she has this “Aww shucks” look on her face, with the built in excuse of not being American.

Now, I could sit here and say that being from Berkshire shouldn’t make you a Chelsea fan, but what the heck do I know? I could guarantee you that she doesn’t know a single person who plays for Chelsea currently. It’s like she picked the team at random, because someone else liked the team, and she wanted to fit in and so she became a fan of Chelsea. It’s a thing most sports fans do when we’re all like 5 years old, when we grow up watching sports. We settle on our team and we stick with them through thick and thin. We follow them through the ups and downs. But Kate doesn’t even do that. When her team is down, she has moved on. When they’re up, she’s a huge die-hard fan. It’s called being fair-weather. No one likes that kind of fan. Heck, no one really likes that kind of person, but Kate has no only had this role for some time, she has utterly embraced it. Because again, she’s not American so it’s all okay. She can be as ignorant, ill-informed, and un-prepared for anything you want to talk about.

You would think she would have heard of Google by now, and used to actually look things up on the internet, for a discussion on the internet, but you would be wrong. Kate Steele has no used for you internet or your information. Why do the work yourself when you can just ask somebody to do it for you? It really shouldn’t be that hard to look up information, but sadly, the world is full of disinformation as well. Still, just look this things up. You don’t want to be like Kate Steele and enter conversations or discussions with a severe lack of knowledge. You don’t want to go into a battle of wits unarmed, as they say.

It is this kind of thinking that has led Kate to become a chameleon. Easily sliding into any situation and knowing just enough to get by, so that someone says, “yeah, that’s right” and then she’s in. And then when it is no longer useful to her, she will ditch it. Like, do you guys all remember when Kate Steele was an MMA expert? As a person who has practiced and learned Judo and Jiu-jitsu, it’s offensive when someone who doesn’t know the history, or have the respect for the art and just thinks that it looks cool, so they are going to do it.  She’s doing more submissions now to further fit into that category. And then… it just kind of stopped. Speaking of submissions, does Kate even remember why her finishing moves are called what they’re called? Why is there a “Shipwrecked?” Why is there a “Siren’s song?” Are we really talking about Greek Mythology with Kate Steele? Was Kate Steele a pirate at some point in her life? It’s actually a bit impressive that Kate has managed to remember these things and apply them to her career at various points and then just drop them like a bad habit when another new thing comes along. It’s amazing and infuriating at the same time. And it’s not like this is a new thing. This is pure Kate Steele. This is who she is, and what she does. She’s been doing this for a long, long time. And it has no signs of ending any time soon.

I mean, remember when Kate Steele was “lil’ miss…” whatever the word is that fits? Remember that? Where is it now? No longer applicable. Where is the emo band shirt-wearing Kate Steele? Gone. Why? Oh, Amy Marshall and Jessie Salco are Metal and Punk? Kate Steele must be a part of it too. Does Kate know anything about either? Who cares?! It’s a chance to fit in. In America, and really, everywhere around the world, when you do these types of things, because they are popular, and then you ditch them when something new comes along you know what you are? You’re a poser. You’re a wannabe, and it has become a dangerous weapon in the hands of Kate Steele. She might as well put on red Yankee fitted hat and start singing that she did it all for the nookie. It’s is a dangerous trend that people think that it’s okay to not know anything, and acceptable to just not educate yourself if you actually want to know something.

I guess the new things now is an obsession with Jem. A TV show that Kate knew nothing about because it was on TV before she was even alive. I’m not saying that you can’t appreciate something that was around before you, but the way she does it is so disingenuous. We all know that deep down Kate doesn’t really CARE about Jem, it’s a means to an end. She wouldn’t watch the show willingly, she didn’t happen on it by looking through youtube or something like that. Someone else mentioned Jem and THAT is when Kate jumped on the bandwagon.  I’m sure, after this runs it’s course, Kate will not remember anything about Jem because everything in Kate’s life at this point, is interchangeable.

She’s a living, breathing Mr. Potato head.

We can pull off arms, legs, the nose, and replace them and make Kate up any way we like, and it won’t matter. Kate will find a way to just roll with it. If it means Kate gets the attention she wants, then it’s all worth it. I mean let’s just look at Kate playing the role of “Diamond” for Teddy Steele. First, we’re supposed to believe that Teddy managed to get 3 women to… be with him, I guess? And then Kate is all angry at this and it turns out that she is the “diamond” of the group. Because Teddy and Kate are in love? I guess. The whole thing was convoluted, but Kate is okay with that, because it gave her something to do. Something new to flaunt as an ability.

First, the only woman who actually tolerates Teddy is Kate. So, I don’t know how it was supposed to be anyone else, but Kate. The 2 or 3 other women, were obviously paid, by Kate, in order to drive Kate herself crazy and make her jealous.

And then my wife and Belinda brought all of that to a screeching halt. And then…

We’re back to just Kate, like nothing happened. Like this wasn’t a giant turn on the hamster wheel so she could get a kick out of it.

This just goes on and on until somebody puts an end to it, or says something to Kate, and then poof, it’s gone, like it never happened. Only Kate would think it’s okay to try to play both sides when there was that riff with Griffin and Teddy.  It is amazing how smoothly she can just lie to everyone and play them against each other and then when it’s all said and done. Kate still wants to be friends with Griffin and still wants to be with Teddy. A dude who couldn’t be more whipped if he was in an aerosol can with “Reddi” on the front. And then at the end of the day, all of it means nothing to Kate Steele. No words, no actions, nothing means anything to Kate, because she’s already moved on to the next thing to appropriate. Another group to try and assimilate into. You are not cool if you do these things ladies and gentlemen. If you do, I suggest you please stop seeing someone like Kate Steele to model your life or career after. It’s only going to lead to bad things and lack of social awareness. And we all need to be better than that.

I’ve sat here and I’ve thought about all this, and as infuriating as it is, Kate Steele somehow manages to be constantly in, or around championship matches and into contention. She’s just there. Look at most of these multi-woman matches for contendership and championship opportunities. You will find Kate Steele’s name all over them. You will see Kate Steele in the thick of things for championships all the time. And this has given Kate the idea that she doesn’t need to have any sort of firm beliefs or values. Nothing she has done or said has changed anything about her getting opportunities. Just ride whatever wave that happens and then bam, you’ll get something eventually. And this has also given her the idea that she can hang her hat on these things as a testament to her skill in the ring.

Kate has a lot of championships in her history. She was the first LAW champion. Now, granted, the only reason she has that is because 3 of the final four of a tournament quit, and she won it by default, but she still won it. But through manipulation and doing what she felt she needed to do, she has been in or around championship matches. Cozy up to management, sure. Kate will do it. Stab friends or allies in the back? That’s all Kate. And no matter what in the end just shrug and say sorry? Kate will 100% do that.

I know that Kate… doesn’t do well with bullying and she struggled with that for a long, long time. I feel like one right now for saying the things I’m saying, but the fact is, it’s the truth. She has annoyed and angered more people with her behavior and at what point do we let it go and stop trying to talk sense into Kate because she can believe it to be bullying? At one point do we sit here and say that we “shouldn’t say those things” about Kate Steele. Kate knows all of this is true about her. Kate knows I’m not saying anything to make her feel bad or upset on purpose. I just tell the truth. I call everyone on their B.S. especially when it has a history as rich as hers. Sometimes, things just have to be said.

But you know what Kate Steele is really, really good at, above all else?

Escaping.

Kate is really good at just getting out of a situation and emerging pretty much unscathed. It’s like she is some kind of savant who can just walk into any match and walk away smelling like roses. She can just walk into any match and walk out a champion. It’s almost uncanny the way she just more or less stumbles her way into these things. I know this from my own experience.

Right before I left to enjoy the first year of my son’s life and to be there for him, I had a chance to win the Roulette championship, and complete the grand slam, and become the 2nd person in history to ever do so. I had the title in my grasp, a straight-jacket match and my opponent, the defending champion Kate Steele. I could just feel that overwhelming feeling of winning the championship and making history. I was practically blinded by it, I could feel it, taste it, feel it, and touch it, every sense of every sense was tuned to that one moment. All I had to do was beat Kate Steele in a straight-jacket match and it was mine.

And thanks to her husband interfering, Kate Steele beat me. And I don’t know if I ever felt a bigger sense of disappointment until Summer XXXtreme last year. I had let myself down. I didn’t get the job done. I failed at making something I knew I could make happen, happen. And for a long time, it was what I felt was my greatest failure. Because I knew I was better than Kate Steele and she escaped.  She got away with a win that should have been mine.

So that makes this, all the upcoming title match all the more important to me.

Because you want to know what happened a couple of weeks later? Veronica Taylor, of all people, beat Kate Steele and she became the Roulette champion. Veronica Taylor succeeded where I failed. And that’s such an absurd statement that I have to live with. Sure, I beat Veronica and eventually got what I was after. But there was Kate Steele, having escaped me, only to lose to someone who isn’t on the level of either Kate or myself. What did she do, that I didn’t? It bugs me to this day.

I cannot, and will not allow that to happen again. I just can’t. I cannot allow Kate Steele to escape without having beaten her in the ring and not have to deal with outside interference, or some fluke nonsense that I should have been able to overcome. I didn’t do that last time and it cost me at the very least a title defense as Roulette champion and fully explore what I could have done with that championship.

But, I don’t have to worry about some weird stipulation anymore. This is for the Internet championship. A championship that is near and dear to me, because it bugs me that I didn’t become the first Internet champion. Just the second one. Just couldn’t catch a break at some points in my career it seems. And now, the opportunity has come to make up for that. And while it’s true that winning the championship led to what became the feud of the year with Amy Marshall, It didn’t end the way I wanted it to.

Now, all of that, can at least, start to be rectified.

This time, Kate Steele will not escape. She will be beaten, and I will become a 3 time Internet champion. That’s something that has to be done. I cannot falter at this point. I need to beat Kate Steele to prove a point not only to Kate, but to myself. I am challenging myself. I need to be better.

And on Sunday, I will be.

See you soon, Keira.
