The place was not quite as empty as it had been the last time Seleana had been here. This time, a lot of the Shielmaidens were around and working out in the rings for their respective independent dates that were coming up soon. Milling about the area and watching one ring were the club’s co-sgt-at-arms, tag team partners Chiaki “Chi Chi” Sanada and Jane “Hammer” Harper. Inside the ring was Chi Chi’s young cousin, Ichika Sanada, her friend Hiroko Sakurai, Toshiko Tanaka and club prospect Yukari Kojima, the four seemingly working on working as tag teams in front of the multi-time tag teams champions, Chi Chi and Hammer.

In another ring stand full patches, Gina “Spitfire” Cassiano, Yumi “Zero” Kojima, Alessia “Hellcat” Drakos and Amelia “Mustang” Holt, collectively known as the Warbirds, also working on their tag team chemistry together. Watching on with them is Seleana and Diamond’s step-daughter, club prospect Brittany “B-Brat” Williams alongside her fellow prospect, Dawn “D-Dub” Warren.

As the two women who were there as family connections, Seleana Zdunich and Alexandra “Diamond” Caldwell continue scanning the scene as they walk towards their daughter-in-law, Club VP, Haylie Jo “Halo” Annis, they watch as Full Patch and recent rookie wrestler Ravenna “Cuervo” Rojas completeness her Hindu squats to get herself ready for another session in the ring herself.   

Haylie Jo "Halo" Annis: : Hey, Mama Sel, Mama Alex…

As Halo nods to her mothers-in-law, Seleana and Diamond both nod back, happy to see her.

Seleana Zdunich: HayJo.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: HayJo.

Halo grins.

Haylie Jo "Halo" Annis: : Y’all need to simulate an opponent?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: Mine will nto be as tall as you.

Halo nods.

Haylie Jo "Halo" Annis: : I got it, I’ll be right back with Rocket.

Halo heads off in search of the person she just mentioned while Seleana an Diamond start stretching out. 

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: Where is this week?

Seleana Zdunich: Tucson.

Diamond nods.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: And your opponent is?

Seleana Zdunich: Georgia Robertson.

Diamond frowns.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: Did they not just announce you were in a match at the pay-per-view with her?

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, her and Arianna Angelos.

Diamond shakes her head.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: Does that mean you’ll be back here next week working two of them to get ready for that?

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, probably multiple times since we have the open week before the big show.

Diamond considers this.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: How much history do you have with these girls?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: I have wrestled them both. They have both been victorious before. I am certain I will be reminded of this repeatedly as if it is the first time it was ever said.

Diamond nods slowly.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: You’re not worried about that?

Seleana shakes her head.

Seleana Zdunich: Everyone says it. I have heard that every match I have ever had in every company I have ever been in. It did matter if it was LAW, SCW, WWA, WWR, CEW under any name it used, every time I had a match, it was always pointed out that my career was less than desirable.

Diamond reacts to that list as if she’s smelled something horrid.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: I remember WWR. Isn’t WWA where you, Zenna and Chrys were a trio together?

Seleana nods, brightening up immediately.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, we were trios champions together.

Diamond smiles back.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: Looks like you enjoyed it.

Seleana nods her agreement.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, it was good. I miss that company.

Diamond hugs her wife comfortingly.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: Well we’ll have to make sure you’re ready for this one.

Seleana smiles.

Seleana Zdunich: Tack, Alex.

The two kiss, ready to go as Halo returns with her quarry, full patch Riki “Rocket” Metcalf.

Haylie Jo "Halo" Annis: : Y’all ready?

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, let us do this.

Thirteen-year-old Aurora Zdunich was confused. The young girl tended to ask questions quite often and now she had more to ask. On this occasion, as in many times previous, she walks into the living room to find her mother, Seleana Zdunich as the adult woman sits on the couch checking things on her phone.

Aurora Zdunich: Mommy?

Looking up from her phone as she sits on the couch, Seleana nods to her daughter.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja?

Aurora sits down next to her mother.

Aurora Zdunich: Why don’t you work in the same places as Mommy Christina and Mommy Alex?

Seleana shrugs as if it’s nothing serious.

Seleana Zdunich: I have before.

Aurora nods slowly.

Aurora Zdunich: But… you don’t now?

Seleana shrugs sight;y.

Seleana Zdunich: I do, but we cannot be a team in SCW currently.

Aurora frowns confusion.

Aurora Zdunich: Why not?

Seleana sighs slightly, the sadness evident in her eyes even as she tries to hide it.

Z: Because SCW does not utilize tag teams of the same gender on a regular basis and do not allow them to challenge for championships at all anymore.

Again, Aurora frowns in confusion.

Aurora Zdunich: Why?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: I do not know. The company was structured that way when I was brought in and I did not ask because it was not my business to question their practices. Christina wanted me there so I was brought in and allowed employment following the closure of Ladies All-Star Wrestling. Christina seemed pleased enough with that at the time that the Hollywood Angels were not spoken of again for several years.

Nodding, Aurora cocks her head interrogatively.

Aurora Zdunich: What about the other ones?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: One of them, they do not work there, the other I am just a manager for Christina.

Aurora just stares at her.

Aurora Zdunich: Why not both?

Seleana Zdunich: Alexandra usually has somebody else managing and we have never discussed me taking their position.

Aurora frowns yet again.

Aurora Zdunich: Do you want to?

Seleana sits back on the couch, seemingly taken aback by the question.

Seleana Zdunich: Manage Alexandra?

Aurora nods and Seleana shrugs. 

Seleana Zdunich: I do not think about such things. I never wanted to manage but then Christina asked me to so I did. We have discussed being a team called the Hollywood Angels many times. She even promised me we would be years ago but we have not yet. The opportunity has not arisen since L.A.W. ceased operations.

She sighs heavily.

Seleana Zdunich: I would love to team with either of them but I do not think either of them wants to. They do not like tag teams as much as they like standing on their own two feet. Alexandra is reestablishing herself again and Christina has never needed my help to do so.

Aurora nods.

Aurora Zdunich: You’re all badasses, Mommy!

Seleana can’t help but smile at her daughter’s enthusiasm.

Seleana Zdunich: You like watching us, ja?

She nods.

Aurora Zdunich: I can’t wait to see you all in your next matches!

She pauses.

Aurora Zdunich: But I ave one more question.

Selena nods to her encouragingly.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja?  What is it?

Aurora looks her mother dead in the eyes.

Aurora Zdunich: Why do you say “Välkommen till djungeln” when you talk to the camera?

Seleana smiles slightly, shrugging her shoulders as if the answer is simple and obvious.

Seleana Zdunich: Because I am called the cat and I play with a lioness for fun.

Aurora nods.

Aurora Zdunich: That phrase is Swedish, right?

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja.

Aurora continues to focus on her mother, hanging on every word.

Aurora Zdunich: What does it mean?

Seleana smiles at her daughter’s curiosity.

Seleana Zdunich: Welcome to the jungle. It works with me playing with Sarabi, ja?

Aurora smiles, nodding her agreement.

Aurora Zdunich: Sarabi is pretty.

Seleana smiles back at her daughter, nodding her agreement.

Seleana Zdunich: She is, ja.

Aurora embraces her mother.

Aurora Zdunich: So are you, Mommy!

Seleana hugs her back tightly.

Seleana Zdunich: You are beautiful as well, Little One.

Aurora smiles as she clings to her mother.

Aurora Zdunich: I love you, Mommy.

Seleana Zdunich: Jag älskar dig också!

The camera opens upon Seleana Zdunich standing in the driveway as she waits to get into her car and head off to the airport for her weekend bookings.

Seleana Zdunich: Here we come, main event, ja?

She nods knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: The SCW Internet Championship against Tempest and Mercedes Vargas and I know some will say we do not deserve this because there was no match to declare anyone a contender but it was publicly voted on. Mercedes and I split the vote so we were both given the opportunity.

Looking down at her feet, she nods to herself again.

Seleana Zdunich: I have battle both of them before.

A small smile crosses her face though no actual joy seems to really be behind it.

Seleana Zdunich: Mercedes is a woman that some call hasbeen. They think she is no longer capable of the accolades she has already accumulated.

Seleana shakes her head.

Seleana Zdunich: Those people are either lying to themselves or are simply too stupid to recognize that Mercedes has lost none of her potency. Now she simply has experience to add to her talent and abilities. Her skills are as they were despite what Juliana DiMaria likes to say of people like Mercedes.

Again, Seleana shakes her head in disgust.

Seleana Zdunich: Mercedes now has a target on her that people like Julianna simply cannot understand, ja?

She nods, a look of anger bordering on obsessive hatred crossing over her entire being.

Seleana Zdunich: Mercedes has been so good for so long that every opponent takes facing her an opportunity that they must take hold of like no other. They act as if it is a championship to be won in and of itself. The fact that Mercedes still wins more often than not is a testament to her skills, her tenacity and her ability to adapt to the changing challenges and difficulties she faces as the book on her gets longer and deeper. Many have read this book and yet still she ads new chapters that some do not see coming.

She places a hand against her chest, patting herself lightly.

Seleana Zdunich: I take facing Mercedes as both a serious challenge and a badge of honor. There is nothing easy about it and I know that whether I win or lose I will feel it after. There is no denying this.

Her hand falls away but her gaze remains steadfast.

Seleana Zdunich: Mercedes is a tough competitor to test myself against.

Her hand slashes through the shot as if brushing off any thought to the contrary.

Seleana Zdunich: She makes all of us have to step up just to escape injury, much less wish to escape with a victory.

A small smirk momentarily washes over her face.

Seleana Zdunich: Julianna wishes she could say the same for herself.

She shakes her head again, disgust evident all over her face as she does so.

Seleana Zdunich: And that brings us to the defending champion, Tempest.

She stops right where she is and looks directly into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: Tempest is a primordial force…

A nod reinforces the point.

Seleana Zdunich: She is THE force.  That irresistible force looks to smash us against the Immovable Object and leave no doubt in any minds that she is the champion she was always meant to be.

Seleana nods grimly.

Seleana Zdunich: That has always been who she is.

She nods in acknowledgement.

Seleana Zdunich: What she is.

Her right fist lands against her left palm.

Seleana Zdunich: She is a beast of a champion that will always be a threat to smash anyone that steps in front of her and this time, there are two of us to step in front of her. Mercedes and I will step up to her and we will show that we will not be bullied. If Tempest defeats us, she will be showing the world that she is the best they should write songs about.

Going quiet, Seleana cocks her head slightly to the right.

Seleana Zdunich: I am ready for this challenge. I am ready for this fight. I have never won this championship and I will fight hard as for it because I know I have to.

She nods firmly.

Seleana Zdunich: I have to fight just to survive and I know Mercedes and Tempest will do the same. We will fight until we can fight no more and then we will force ourselves to fight some more because if we do not, we will not be able to live with ourselves anymore.

She nods and points to herself in the chest.

Seleana Zdunich: I will fight to show the lion can overcome whatever the fox and the crocodile can do! You wish to come at me?

She nods fiercely.

Putting in the work.

Many people talk about it, some even do it. This was one of many things that Seleana Zdunich looked to do. It didn’t always work, but it meant she stayed in the game more than anyone tended to give her credit for. As she sits down on a bench next to the equipment in the gym, her daughter-in-law, Haylie Jo “Halo” Annis

Seleana Zdunich: We are good now, ja?

Halo shrugs.

Halo: How far do you wanna push it?

Seleana ponders this question for a second.

Seleana Zdunich: Who do we have?

Halo grins.

Halo: As practice? Depends on what you wanna practice. We got Me, Ames, Mama Chrys, Mama Alex, Goldi, Tory, Katya, you remember Lassindra from WWR?

Seleana nods affirmatively.

Halo: She’s a prospect that could help. D-Dub, B-Brat, Yukari, the rookie Yukari’s been tryin to talk to coming in, Ichika, Zero, Jane, Chi Chi…

Seleana frowns in confusion.

Seleana Zdunich: Ichika runs with you?

Halo shakes her head.

Halo: Just trains, she lives with Jane and Chi Chi. Yukari and her have a friend that talks about comin’ in too named Hiroko Sakurai. Supposedly she kicks really well and wants to learn to get away from relying on that so much.

She pauses.

Halo: I’d say Cuervo too but she needs work herself and if she keeps listening to Coneja…

Seleana frowns at the name causing Halo to pause apologetically.

Halo: Sorry, Sofia…

Seleana nods knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, Sofia is a problem. She is going down a bad path.

Halo sighs, nodding her agreement.

Halo: Yeah…

She looks down and then sighs again.

Halo: I don’t know how we managed to avoid some of the shit that should have started. She got sideways with Cheech and I saw another president wade in and with her being a Carbajal, that’s…

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, family can be a problem.

She looks down sadly.

Seleana Zdunich: So, who is a bigger one?

Halo grins.

Halo: Tory and Lass. If you wanna see if you can match strength or deal with it, that’s who you go to. They’re even bigger than me, Mama Alex and Ames. If you want speed, ain’t nobody has that more than Goldi and Cheech.

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Are any of them comparable size to Bobbie, Lexus or F.M.?

Halo nods.

Halo: I believe Lass is like that team. Tory is brawn-wise. I could make a call for Dozer from Kill Devil Hills and the couple of towers they got in Jersey, Koloss and Dvořák, I think their names are. I’d say that Titaness chick from New Orleans, but I think she lives in Salem and is a little busy with her own schedule.

Seleana nods slowly.

Seleana Zdunich: No Bobbie?

Halo shrugs.

Halo: That woman seems to be rather unique that way.

Seleana nods knowingly, sadly.

Seleana Zdunich: I will just give it a go.

Halo shrugs.

Halo: Alrighty, we’ll see what we can do, Mama Sel.

Seleana smiles at her daughter-in-law.

The camera opens upon an audio studio set-up like a radio station with a table that has four microphones ready for people to take part in the discussion to be had. Sitting at the two spots on the one side are two caucasian guys dressed in jeans and t-shirts, an African-American man sits in a side room behind a big board, a microphone in front of him as well.  In the spot on the other side of the table sits Seleana Zdunich, almost looking like she was dressed for a job interview. Suddenly, the man off by himself nods and hits a button to start the proceedings.

Voice 1: Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo…yo…YO!  This is D-Lo and I’m here with your hosts, Matt and Mark Peace, the Peacemakers Podcast! Mark? Matt? Take it away!

The camera switches from being on D-Lo to Matt and Mark Peace.

Matt Peace: Thank you, D-Lo and welcome to the Peacemakers Podcast with the Peacemakers! 

Mark Peace: And today’s special guest is a woman who has been a champion for multiple companies and is about to challenge for the SCW Bombshell Roulette Championship in a triple threat match with Champion Bobbie Dahl and Hall of Famer Mercedes Vargas, Seleana Zdunich!

Matt Peace: Seleana, welcome to the Podcast!

Seleana nods, smiling broadly.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, tack. Thank you for having me.

Matt Peace: So let’s start this off with and get your relationship out of the way…

Mark Peace: Do we really wanna do that?

Matt Peace: You know everybody listening or watching is gonna be thinking these things.

D-Lo chuckles.

D-Lo: Yo, everybody always wanna know where da white women at!

Seleana shakes her head as the Peacemakers just look at their producer.

Matt Peace: You tryin’ to make her think we work for T-Will now?

Mark Peace: Didn’t Teddy Warren used to say that too?

Matt shrugs.

Matt Peace: I don’t know, I think he tried a different flavor.

Mark Peace: This is true.

Matt Peace: So, let us ask you, straight up…

Mark Peace: You really wanna call something about her relationship “straight?”

Matt shrugs again.

Matt Peace: It’s weird enough as it is, so, we might as well.

Mark Peace: Alright.

Matt Peace: So, Seleana, the question on everyone’s mind with you is always, how in the hell can you stand being married to Crystal Hilton?

Mark nods pointedly.

Mark Peace: Well, that was definitely to the point…if a little tactless.

Seleana smiles sweetly back at them.

Seleana Zdunich: It is simple. I am not married to Crystal Hilton. Crystal Hilton is a persona that is put on for professional purposes, not unlike how you call yourselves the Peacemakers. You are Matt Peace and Mark Peace. I am married to Christina Zdunich.

Matt nods.

Matt Peace: What’s the difference?

Seleana Zdunich: Crystal Hilton is a character that Christina plays. Crystal is the side that Christina displays in public for professional purposes in movies, music and wrestling. Christina is the real woman, the real human being. She has real… is the word… foibles?

Matt and Mark both nod in unison.

Seleana Zdunich: Foibles. We all have them, ja?

Again, Matt and Mark nod in unison.

Seleana Zdunich: I have them, Alex has them, Christina has them, we all do.

Matt Peace: Alex is Diamond Caldwell, right?

Mark Peace: She’s a current champion herself, right? So is Crystal?

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, they both are and I am so proud of them both!

Matt Peace: And now you have the chance to join them and make it a golden family?

Mark Peace: That’d be a helluva thing for the family.

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, it would.

Matt Peace: So how do you see this match you’re gonna have?

Mark Peace: What kind of match is it?

Matt Peace: Where is it?

Seleana Zdunich: It is a triple threat and it is in the Blue Arena in Loveland, Colorado.

Mark Peace: Yeah, but what kind of match is it?

Matt Peace: Roulette Rules say you don’t find out until the match starts, right?

Mark Peace: Seriously?

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, this is the truth.

Matt Peace: So how do you feel about it?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: I have dealt with this before. I was Bombshell Roulette Champion from twenty-first June, 2020 until twenty-seventh September 2020. Mercedes is a four-time Bombshells Roulette Champion champion and Bobbie has been champion for just under one month’s time. We are all capable of winning this match.

Matt Peace: So it’s been four years since you were champion?

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja.

Mark Peace: No wonder that Julianna DiMaria said what she said.

Seleana glares at Mark.

Seleana Zdunich: She does not know what she is talking about. She talks about things that are not true or are outdated. She makes hens out of feathers. Bobbie is just starting to find her way. Mercedes has nothing to prove to anyone as she has won many championships. I have won multiple championships and now the three of us have the opportunity to prove that we all have what it takes. Julianna talks about nothing. We will show that her division is still strong.

Matt Peace: Shouldn’t she want you to do that?

Mark Peace: Doesn’t it make her look better if the division as a whole is more than just a blackhole of nothingness?

Seleana nods her agreement.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, but she is not paying attention to her own thing. Bobbie is a physically dominant competitor that is a threat to anyone she gets in the ring with. Mercedes is a veteran competitor who is a threat to anyone she gets into the ring with on her skills, guile, and craftiness. I am ready to take on any test, any chance to prove myself and my skills.

Matt Peace: You don’t think you have yet?

Seleana Zdunich: I have but you always need to prove yourself again. Julianna will find this is true of her as well. Bobbie, Mercedes and I will step into the ring in whatever circumstances they throw at us and we will tear each other apart.

Mark Peace: Is is true that you play with lions for fun?

Seleana smiles brightly.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, her name is Sarabi and I raised her as a baby in Orana Park in Christchurch. 

Matt Peace: You raised a lion?

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja.

Mark Peace: You raised a lion and you play with her for fun?

Seleana chuckles.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja.

Matt Peace: You are a crazy and interesting woman, Miss Zdunich.

Seleana smiles.

Seleana Zdunich: Tack.

Mark Peace: So when is this match?

Seleana Zdunich: Sunday, fourteenth, January, the Bombshells Roulette Championship against Bobbie Dahl and Mercedes Vargas. We will do this, ja?

Matt Peace: Sure sounds like it.

That was how long it took to make the trip from Las Vegas to Primm, Nevada as it sat on the border between Nevada and California. That was how long the trip would take Seleana Zdunich on Sunday to drive to her match with Bobbie Dahl and how long it would take to drive back after to get ready for her daughter’s thirteenth birthday. The birthday was on Tuesday and little Aurora had still not made any requests.

Seleana Zdunich: What do you want for your birthday?

Seleana smiles, trying to offer her safety, security and stability inside the living room of the apartment she was allowed to share during her cancer treatments with her biological mother, Angelica Martinez, before

Seleana Zdunich: We can do whatever you want, ja?

Aurora shakes her head.

Aurora Zdunich: I…

Sensing difficulties, Seleana nods slowly.

Seleana Zdunich: It is ok, you can say, It will be alright.

Aurora shakes her head. Seleana frowns in confusion.

Seleana Zdunich: What is it, älskling?

Aurora looks away, tears in her eyes.

Aurora Zdunich: I…

Seleana nods to her. Aurora slowly looks back into her mother’s eyes.

Aurora Zdunich: I want Mommy to come home.

A look of surprise comes over Seleana’s face. This was not what she anticipated at all. Her mouth opens slowly, trying to find the words.

Seleana Zdunich: Jag…

Aurora nods as if he knew the answer was going to be negative.

Aurora Zdunich: I know… you can’t because Mommy started drinking again.

Seleana stares at Aurora in shock.

Seleana Zdunich: You… know?

Aurora nods.

Seleana Zdunich: How?

Aurora goes quiet, tears streaming down her face.

Aurora Zdunich: Juliet was over at our house. We were in-game and we heard a crash in the kitchen. We went down there and Mommy ws in the middle of a bunch of empty bottles and he’d broken one…

Aurora looks away in shame and guilt.

Aurora Zdunich: She begged us not to tell anyone. Promised to buy us a bunch of stuff we knew we’d never see.

Seleana nods and then takes the girl into her arms.

Seleana Zdunich: I am sorry you had to see that. I was trying to protect you from it.

She sighs heavily.

Seleana Zdunich: I fail.

Seleana kisses the top of the little girl’s head.

Seleana Zdunich: She is in New York. She take apartment there for football.  Zenna visit, take her to a meeting. Been to more than one now. Aunt Li visit too.

Aurora nods slowly before looking at her mother.

Aurora Zdunich: Will they come see us?

Knowing the league plays its games on Tuesdays, Seleana can only hope the answer she gives is good enough.

Seleana Zdunich: I will ask. They might have to come early depending on football.

Aurora nods and collapses into mother’s chest again.

Aurora Zdunich: Is Mommy Alex coming?

Seleana nods quickly, a smile coming to her face.

Seleana Zdunich: Of course, she promised she would. Alex will be here whenever we ask her to be.

Aurora nods into her mother’s chest.

Aurora Zdunich: When is your next match?

Seleana barely moves.

Seleana Zdunich: Sunday, in Primm. It is a quick drive. You come with me?

Aurora looks up at her mother in shock.

Aurora Zdunich: I can?

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: If you wish, of course. You can choose to remain here with Freja and Lucy or you can accompany me to Primm.

Aurora squeezes her tightly, her joy shining through the tears.

Aurora Zdunich: I love you, Mommy!

Seleana kisses the top of her head again as tears start rolling down her own face.

The camera opens upon Seleana Zdunich standing in the parking lot looking over towards the lights of the Las Vegas Strip.

Seleana Zdunich: Bobbie Dahl…

She nods slowly, turning her attention away from the Strip and towards the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: I know some will think I should be disappointed that you are not Roxi but…

Shrugging quickly, Seleana shakes her head in the negative.

Seleana Zdunich: Bobbie, you are a unique talent with so much ability it is unsettling where you are now. You should have destroyed people you face. You are so much bigger and physically imposing than most of us…

Looking away, Seleana shakes her head yet again in shock at how Bobbie’s matches go.

Seleana Zdunich: You should be laying waste to people.

She looks back to the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: And you do.

A small smile comes across her face.

Seleana Zdunich: You tend to beat the hell out of your opponents, ja? 

She nods knowingly, pointedly as if grudgingly acknowledging a point.

Seleana Zdunich: And that brings us to why many will feel I should be disappointed…

She starts going down the list of accomplishments.

Seleana Zdunich: Roxi has been Bombshell World Champion five times. She has been Bombshell Roulette Champion. She has been Bombshell Internet Champion three times including being the second one ever.

She looks up and nods.

Seleana Zdunich: You… have not.   

Seleana allows herself a snicker.

Seleana Zdunich: Roxi is an SCW Hall of Famer…

She shrugs matter-of-factly.

Seleana Zdunich: Neither of us are.

The smile fades.

Seleana Zdunich: A win against Roxi would be very meaningful but it would not immediately vault me up to the top.

She shakes her head.

Seleana Zdunich: I’ve been to the top. I have been Bombshell World Champion. I have been Bombshell Roulette Champion. There is no one win that will vault me to the next level because zI am always denigrated for what my wife did before. She is a Hall of Famer herself and yet…

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: So, here we are, Bobbie. We will stand on the border between California and Nevada for this show and match just as we stand on the border between being seen as just good and being a member of the elite seen as greatness.

Her gaze changes to a determined glare.

Seleana Zdunich: I am under no illusions that I will change all the minds about me but you have time, Bobbie.

She nods slightly.

Seleana Zdunich: You have the time, the ability and if you have the hunger…

She nods pointedly again.

Seleana Zdunich: You can do it.

She steps back and swings her arm out wide.

Seleana Zdunich: For now, we must be content in this moment to go out there and lay everything we have on that border and do all we can to shove ourselves into the category we all strive for. I am ready, Bobbie… are you?

She reaches out and motions at Bobbe to meet her.

Seleana Zdunich: Let us find out together, ja?

This was the day that had always been dreaded. Ever since the revelations in 2020 had led to the formation of the SRT and Seleana, Christina and Alexandra as a romantic unit, there had been a constant worry that it couldn’t last propagated by repeated mistakes being made and the history of those mistakes. Christina had left once already, as had Alexandra and both had returned relatively quickly.

But the seed was not only planted, it was taking root.

Now the day had arrived, Alexandra “Diamond” Caldwell had packed up her stuff and taken her leave. Seleana Zdunich sits on her bed and shakes her head in shock, sadness and a million other feelings all at once.

This is not how this was supposed to go.

What made it all the more shocking was how undramatic it was. There was no screaming row or yelling fight. There was almost nothing at all that would seemingly explain a break-up aside from Alexandra breaking the news that she was leaving and not coming back. There had then been a discussion with twelve-year-old Aurora with Alexandra going out of her way to assure Aurora that this was not her fault and that their relationship would not be ending with this move.

Now an hour later, Seleana sits on the bed she shares with her wife, silence falling all around the room as she sits there staring at the window in disbelief.

Alexandra… was gone.

Christina had gone downstairs almost immediately while Aurora had been led to her bedroom by Selena’s cousin, Freja Lindström, and Freja’s girlfriend, Lucy Osman. Left alone in her room, Seleana can only sit there, waiting for the next shoe to drop. Suddenly, the silence is shattered by a small voice from the doorway.

Aurora Zdunich: Mommy?   

Seleana turns her attention to her daughter and smiles for her.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja?

Aurora’s face shows a child suddenly feeling her world coming down and coming apart all on top of her all at once.

Aurora Zdunich: Is Mommy Christina gonna leave too?

Selena stands and walks over to the twelve-year-old, kneeling down to lower herself to Aurora’s  eye level.

Seleana Zdunich: No, Älskling, no one else is leaving.

Aurora looks down, seemingly ashamed to even be worried about things.

Aurora Zdunich: I…

Selena exhales heavily.

Seleana Zdunich: Älskling, it is alright, ja?

Aurora starts to nod but slowly changes to shaking her head as tears start rolling down her face.

Aurora Zdunich: Why doesn’t she want me anymore?

Seleana takes Aurora into her arms as the girl starts sobbing inconsolably, looking much smaller and younger than her twelve years. Seleana hugs her daughter, speaking slowly, low and in a soothing tone.

Seleana Zdunich: This is not your fault. Mommy Alex is having a go at finding herself. She is not abandoning us and definitely not abandoning you. We love you and we are not giving you up.

Aurora lifts her head up, looking her mother in the eye, years still streaming down.

Aurora Zdunich: Is this gonna make Mommy Christina drink more?

Seleana looks the girl in the eye again.

Seleana Zdunich: I cannot make that promise. Mommy Christina is a recovering addict, like Moster Zenna and Moster Linnéa. They cannot make promises about that.

Aurora Zdunich: Is she going to leave too?

Seleana kisses the small girl’s forehead.

Seleana Zdunich: She does not intend to. Neither do I.

Aurora’s bottom jaw vibrates as she looks at her mother in desperation.

Aurora Zdunich: Is she drinking bad now?

Seleana shakes her head.

Seleana Zdunich: I do not know. I hope she does not but I cannot say what he will do.

Pausing, Seleana smiles again for her daughter. 

Seleana Zdunich: I have a match in San Francisco on Sunday against Georgia Robertson. You would like to come with me?

Aurora’s eyes go wide.

Aurora Zdunich: You mean it?

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, Freja will as well. Lucy will return to Las Vegas and we could return there as well after the match. Freja will wish to see how her Lucy’s new job goes, ja?

Aurora nods slowly and Seleana embraces her again.

Seleana Zdunich: Jag älskar dig älskling.

Aurora hugs her mother.

Aurora Zdunich: I love you too, Mommy!

Aurora hurries off and Seleana remains on her knees in the hallway just outside her bedroom.

Seleana Zdunich: Jag älskar dig älskling…

Tears start to fill the Swedish woman’s eyes.

Seleana Zdunich: Jag saknar dig redan, Alexandra.

She slowly stands up and goes back into the bedroom, sitting down on the bed, singing quietly to herself.

A chime sounds to signal a call coming in.

Seleana rolls off the bed and grabs her phone to quickly answer her familial wake up call. A beaming twelve-year-old face greets her.

Aurora Zdunich: Hi, Mommy!  Did I do it right?

Seleana Zdunich nods, making sure to show both approval and pride in her little girl as she does so.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, tack!

Aurora’s smile, already broad and bright, somehow increases in intensity at her mother’s answer. This had worried the young woman as it had seemed important to her mother for this trip especially without either of her wives, Christina “Crystal Hilton” Zdunich or Alexandra “Diamond” Caldwell, on the trip with her.

Aurora Zdunich: Happy wake up call, Mommy!

Seleana smiles at her daughter as she is joined by Diamond.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: She’s been awake for two hours just waiting to make this call for you. Somebody was excited to help!

Seleana laughs as Aurora shrugs.

Aurora Zdunich: Mommy needed my help!

Diamond nods knowingly.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: And you did great!

A third face joins them on the screen.

Christina "Crystal Hilton" Zdunich: She really was excited!

Seleana snickers again.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, she would be for you and Alex as well.

Crystal nods.

Christina "Crystal Hilton" Zdunich: I know.

She and Diamond hug Aurora.

Christina "Crystal Hilton" Zdunich: Monday?

Seleana shakes her head. 

Seleana Zdunich: The match is on Sunday, then we go to Rio. I do not think I return until after Violent Conduct in Mexico.   

Aurora’s eyes light up.

Aurora Zdunich: Isn’t your family from there, Mommy?

Crystal nods.

Christina "Crystal Hilton" Zdunich: My father’s family is, yes.

Aurora claps excitedly.

Aurora Zdunich: Can we go?

Diamond can't help but smile at the little girl’s exuberance. Crystal looks to Seleana, unsure of how to answer this. Seleana simply smiles back at all of them.

Seleana Zdunich: If you want, it is alright with me.

Crystal frowns, worried.

Christina "Crystal Hilton" Zdunich: Are you sure? I mean, this could be a title match for you and do you really want me in the building for it? I…

Before he can finish, Seleana raises a hand to slow her down.

Seleana Zdunich: Calmate, Estrellita, calmate…

Diamond smiles knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: I love you, Stjärna, of course I would want you and our family there if that happens. I do not care what others will think or say about it. It is not for them, ja? It is for us and any chance we get to be together and show our daughter your father’s homeland is special.

Diamond nods, again, knowingly.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: Told you she’d be cool with it.

Aurora cocks her head lightly.

Aurora Zdunich: You did?

Diamond nods to the little one.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: Christina was worried that you would ask and Sel wouldn’t want her there. I told her she was worrying for nothing, that there was no way Sel would say no.

She holds out her hand towards the computer camera on them.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: So… yeah, I told her so.

Crystal nods, looking slightly embarrassed.

Christina "Crystal Hilton" Zdunich: You’d think I’d have learned by now…

Before anybody else can answer, Aurora looks up at her mother and shakes her head.

Aurora Zdunich: Mommy, no! None of that! You’re the Burning Rose! Mommy’s Dat Girl! None of this, “I’m horrible” stuff!

She clamps on and hugs Crystal tightly, lovingly, Diamond following suit almost immediately as well as Seleana smiles on from her hotel room.

Aurora Zdunich: We love you, Mommy!

Diamond kisses the top of Crystal’s head.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: She’s right.

Seleana smiles even more than before.

Seleana Zdunich: She does this often, ja?

Diamond and Crystal both nod in response.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: She does, bless her.

Christina "Crystal Hilton" Zdunich: She does and I love her for it.

Aurora shrugs.

Aurora Zdunich: Mommy needs to hear it!

Seleana smiles proudly.

Seleana Zdunich: Tack for saying so.

Diamond chuckles.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: Oh, come on Sel, let’s not kid ourselves about who taught her that!

Crystal nods her agreement with Diamond’s assessment but Seleana shakes her head slightly.

Seleana Zdunich: I did not have to, she already did it. I just encouraged and reinforced it, ja?

Diamond smiles knowingly even as Crystal starts to say something but thinks better of it and stops herself. Aurora simply smiles.

Aurora Zdunich: I love you, Mommy! Who is in the match you’re fighting on Sunday?

Seleana Zdunich: Bea Barnhart and Alexandra Callaway, whoever wins challenges for the Roulette Championship in Mexico.

Both Diamond and Crystal exhale heavily at the second name.

Christina "Crystal Hilton" Zdunich: Bea’s one thing…but Callaway?

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: She is a hateful thing.

Seleana nods sadly yet knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, I know.

Now, it’s Aurora’s turn to frown slightly for the first time since the call started.

Aurora Zdunich: Mommy, why does that lady hate you?

Seleana frowns at her daughter in confusion and slight worry. This was not a question he was prepared for. 

Seleana Zdunich: Älskling? I do not know what we are talking about.

Aurora just looks dead into the camera.

Aurora Zdunich: Alexandra Callaway. Wasn’t she part of the Queens of Chaos? Didn’t they help us?

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja…

She nods a second time.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja.

Aurora looks between all three of her mothers.

Aurora Zdunich: Then I don’t understand, why?

Diamond and Crystal both sit back slightly, visibly uncomfortable even as Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: Some people change, Älskling, ja? I do not know why, but it happens.

Aurora nods slowly.

Aurora Zdunich: I hope you kick her ass, Mommy!

Diamond and Crystal both smile proudly. Seleana nods to the camera knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: Who taught her that, I wonder?

Diamond and Crystal both grin.

Christina "Crystal Hilton" Zdunich: She’s a smart one.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-Zdunich: Very!

Seleana nods her agreement.

Seleana Zdunich: It’s true. I love you!

The camera opens upon Seleana Zdunich sitting on the bed, ready to look into the camera right off.

Seleana Zdunich: This morning, my daughter asked me a question.

She pauses, allowing her gaze to drift towards the floor and her shoes.

Seleana Zdunich: I admit, I was not prepared for the question.

Staring at her feet, Seleana inhales deeply, slowly letting the breath out after.

Seleana Zdunich: I do not enjoy speaking with my daughter about such things. It is not something I wish to instill…

She looks up into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: Bea Barnhart we have danced this way before. As I have said many times before, you have all the tools. You can physically handle anything thrown at you. You can battle with anyone. You have won tag team championship gold here. You have proven you can be a threat if you set your mind to things.

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: But that is what tends to be the problem, ja?

She nods knowingly, almost pointedly.

Seleana Zdunich: You do not set your mind to things. You lose the battle in the grey.

She points to her head.

Seleana Zdunich: You know all the moves, you know how to nominally fight but you do not put things together the way it is required if you want to stand on your own two feet and prove the world wrong about you!

Sitting forward slightly, her hands fold in front of her, her wrists resting atop her thighs.

Seleana Zdunich: I feel for you because much the same has been said about me and my wife, especially here in Sin City Wrestling. Many cannot help themselves but go to that almost like a crutch against me. They attempt to beat me over the head as if that crutch is actually a club that should splatter me and break me like a berserker on a rampage on the battlefield or a large worker wielding a sledgehammer against weakened and rotting wood.

She shakes her head, almost pleading.

Seleana Zdunich: It does not have to be that way, Bea, I am living proof.

She waves her hand through the shot.

Seleana Zdunich: Many a time someone has come at me like that and found their club is a child’s plaything that will not do the damage they envisioned.

A small, wry smile crosses her face.

Seleana Zdunich: Indeed, we are both about to see one with Alexandra Callaway…

She nods, the smile fading as she glares into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: You were the question I was not prepared for this morning, Alexandra.

She draws in a sharp breath.

Seleana Zdunich: My little girl asked me why you hated me and I had no reply for her because there should not be an answer. We have never had much of an occasion to interact. But..

She pauses slightly, anger festering underneath her words like an acid ready to start eating at anything in its path. 

Seleana Zdunich: My wives have.

She almost allows herself a mirthless chuckle.

Seleana Zdunich: And I know you hate Christina because…

She shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: Most do. They think she is overly entitled and overly assured of herself bordering on the kind of arrogance that one should have.

Again, Seleana almost laughs mirthlessly.

Seleana Zdunich: You can relate, ja?

She nods knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: You started a group in the company where you work with both Christina and my Alexandra that is called Legacies that is based on all of you being second generation wrestlers who think that just makes you better than everyone else. 

Seleana stands and motions as if someone else is standing next to her.

Seleana Zdunich: Lana Corvin says so much when she calls it “The Corvin Way.” Jamie Austin and Otto Nova both seem to have been gifted this thought process as well and there you stand at the front of that group because…

She shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: You are older than them and in wrestling terms, just old?

Seleana shrugs again, this time in acknowledgement.

Seleana Zdunich: Not that much older than me but others would not hesitate to use that, ja?

She looks down to her hand as if it has a long list on it.

Seleana Zdunich: You would now list off your accolades as proof that you earned your place at the head of this group however you would do that at the same time as waving off as irrelevant everything all three of my household have accomplished. Christna alone has accomplished enough to bury you and anyone else who would chastise her in her prizes and yet it is still not enough because you say so…

She waves everything else away.

Seleana Zdunich: The same as when others stand against you and you say they are irrelevant and do not matter. It is your favorite stance and is quite telling about you.

She nods to the camera, her eyes staring daggers through it.

Seleana Zdunich: You feel it coming for you, Alexandra. You feel that everyone else in that group is so much younger and coming for people like you and you do not like that your own friends are better than you. You felt this before, ja?

She nods slowly.

Seleana Zdunich: The Queens of Chaos, who you were previously a member of but no longer because you suddenly realized they did not necessarily hold your same beliefs and acted surprised even after they had already proven this was true six months earlier when they helped…

She holds her hands up as if to ask the question before turning them to point to herself.

Seleana Zdunich: Us!

She nods, pointing almost accusingly into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: That is the saddest thing of all about you, Alexander. You are not a child. You are a veteran competitor who should know better but you delude yourself. You delude yourself about Legacies, you deluded yourself for months about the Queens of Chaos and you delude yourself about SCW and me.

She shakes her head, anger starting to radiate from her.

Seleana Zdunich: Lana should have been your call to wake up that she still feels the need to prove herself every time she steps in the ring while you act the same way you and many others say Christina does because you think you should not have to any longer. The Queens of Chaos should have been your call to wake up when you suddenly realized in may that they were not all about hatred and destruction as you are even after they had shown that in December when they helped Christina, my Alexandra, my little girl and me against people who have seen harm done to our daughter in front of the world.

She pauses, looking down at her shoes again, shaking her head.

Seleana Zdunich: How it took you so long to get that memo, I do not know, aside from you simply did not wish to receive it because it played into your worst fear that you have become the old, obsolete and irrelevant being that you call everyone else!

Looking back up into the camera, Seleana steps closer.

Seleana Zdunich: Now you step into the ring with Bea Barnhart and I, two people you will declare beneath you and irrelevant and this should be your call to wake up again, ja?

She nods knowing the answer before she even asked the question.

Seleana Zdunich: Wake up, Alexandra because there is no winning this match for you. Even if you get your hand raised, you will not have really won because you will not get what you want. You will have beaten two people who you think of as not worth your time and irrelevant and thus if your hand is raised, so what? You were supposed to do that. You are the veteran with so much more training and experience so you will have only managed an “as expected” and gained none of that wondrous manna from heaven you crave so much called “relevance.”

A wicked smile comes across her face.

Seleana Zdunich: But if you lose to one of us and we are the irrelevant unworthies beneath your heel that is a woman who is nothing without her husband and a woman who without her wife is just a zookeeper covered in big cat shit, what does that make you?

Seleana nods pointedly one more time.

Seleana Zdunich: You delude yourself in thinking that you know me and what I am made of because of my wives but you fail to realize they are not me and I am not them. Hate me all you want, Alexandra, but you cannot end my wife here. She beat you to that on her own after her name was already inscribed in places that means it lives on forever whether you like it or not and you cannot end me.

Stepping forward, Seleana places both hands on the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: Wake up, Alexandra, your nightmare is upon you. Your bloodline cannot help or save you now!

A camera opens upon Seleana Zdunich sitting on a stool in what looks like an empty room that could be anywhere. Seleana wears a plain white t-shirt and a pair of blue jeans and a vacant frown on her face.

Seleana Zdunich: Is this good?

A voice comes from the other side of the camera.

The Voice: Yeah, you ready to tell the world?

Seleana nods slowly.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja.

The Voice claps happily.

The Voice: Alright, rolling.

Seleana looks into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: What does everyone want to hear?

The Voice ponders this question for a time as Seleana looks on.

The Voice: How about what Brittany’s been doing lately?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: Are we talking about wrestling, football or prospecting with the MC?

The Voice almost seems to laugh at this question.

The Voice: Let’s start with football.

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: It is sad to watch her do what she does there but it is not surprising. She takes after her mother, worships her mother, even when she says she hates her mother. Most times she cannot decide which parent she is really keen to emulate so she vacillates between them. She is so keen to be who she thinks she is supposed to be, so keen to eclipse them and it spills over into everything else at times. In football she had to share ownership of the Detroit team with her brother which was never going to end well, ja?

She nods sadly.

Seleana Zdunich: Asking Brittany to share that was almost asking for trouble. She and Brayden are their parents’ mini-mes in many ways. I love them both dearly but I am not blind and to watch Brittany put a bounty on her own team’s quarterback for no reason and have it be Brayden’s wife, Sofia…

Shaking her head, Seleana looks away from the camera. 

Seleana Zdunich: I know it is not the first time she has done such things. It is why everyone always thinks she is only out for selfish gains and cannot stand it if someone else has what she believes is her spotlight. In  this case, I think she believed she would be a superstar owner like many of your American sports teams have and that the attention would be on her for putting together a great team especially with her own wife as the star receiver and defeating her mother.

She shakes her head again.

Seleana Zdunich: It was not enough for her. Some would even say she emulated the worst traits of her mother in this.

A moment passes before the Voice responds.

The Voice: What about the MC?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: Her wife is in it, as are their other housemates. I would hope she can manage to last out the try-out process but I do not know if that will happen because I do not know if Brittany really wants it and I do not know if she can stop herself from upsetting the other members.

A page can be heard flipping from the direction the Voice is coming as if whoever is speaking is reading bullet points off a notebook.

The Voice: What about the match you recently refereed between your wives?

Seleana’s head droops though she almost seems to be laughing to herself about it.

Seleana Zdunich: I know it was coming…

The Voice: The question or the match situation?

Selena looks up and shrugs

Seleana Zdunich: Both, ja?

She nods resignedly.

Seleana Zdunich: Alex was not feeling like the Diamond anymore. She was not feeling like Dat Girl. Christina could see it too and she know the feeling herself because there are days she does not feel like the Crystal or the Rose. They both feel like imposters. They feel like what people have said to and about me for years except no one says they have Stockholm Syndrome or look like they belong in one of those videos that are made for hostages to beg for help without begging for help. I see who they are, who they can be because they show it to me when no one else can see it. I know sometimes they feel lost and must look for what they are missing. I know they will find it but sometimes they do not believe or see.

She trails off slightly.   

Seleana Zdunich: Christina thought she could do for Alex what I did for her. Why I needed to be there while she made this attempt…?

She shrugs again.

Seleana Zdunich: I do not know. Maybe Christina wanted an audience?

She pauses, thinking of other possible answers.

Seleana Zdunich: Maybe she worried she needed me to stop her if something went wrong? 

Seleana shakes her head.

Seleana Zdunich: I do not know but I know she made sure my name appeared in an altered form on the poster for the first and last time that will ever happen. Alex has never asked me to use her name and I have never asked her if I should or could use it. My name is Seleana Zdunich. I know Christina stopped using my name because she found it difficult to pronounce even after hearing it for several years now. Alex uses my name in certain personal and legal situations. She still needs time and I am happy to give it to her.

The Voice: So Christina’s plan did not work?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: It was never going to. Christina is not me. Alex is not Christina.

Another page flips.

The Voice: So what about this match with Laura Phoenix?

Seleana manages to smile.

Seleana Zdunich: She is a formidable opponent. Talented, skilled, physically gifted, experienced…

Pausing, Seleana goes down a mental list of things about Laura Phoenix.

Seleana Zdunich: She goes about things the right way. She is a credit to the company and a wonderful addition. I cannot wait to step in the ring with her. This will be a good match that will have no bullshit attached to it and I am keen for this!

She pauses again.

Seleana Zdunich: The Phoenix… in Phoenix.

The smile beams off her face.

Seleana Zdunich: It is good, ja?

She nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Are we finished?

Pages flip back.

The Voice: Yeah, we’re good.

Seleana nods as the voice is revealed to be that of Alexandra “Diamond” Caldwell with their wife, Christina, right there with her.

Seleana Zdunich: I still look like hostage victim?

Alex shakes her head as they kiss.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-ZdunichNo, Baby, you don’t.

Christina joins them and kisses them both in kind.

Christina "Crystal Hilton" Zdunich-Caldwell: I love you so much.

Alexandra "Diamond" Caldwell-ZdunichI love you.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, that is me as well…

She reaches over to the camera.

The scene of many a story of ghosts, vampires and other paranormal and/or supernatural activity. The Hoia Forest had so many stories about it, that many a paranormal entertainment show from multiple countries had done episodes about the area.

Seleana Zdunich’s own sister, Zenna Zdunich, had even shot a pilot for such a show in Japan that was based on the producers’ love for video games like Fatal Frame/Project Zero. The show had planned to go places like this in the first season had it gotten picked up but an incident during the filming of said pilot had guaranteed it would never see the light of day in that form and ended Zenna’s career as a present before it had even started.

Now, some fourteen years’ time later, eldest Zdunich Sister and SCW Bombshell Seleana Zdunich was the one visiting this area, camping out in the storied Romanian Hoia Forest just outside Cluj-Napoca because Christian Underwood and Mark Ward enjoyed putting their talent to the test.

This would certainly be some test.

As Seleana looks outside the tent she was using alongside her wife, fellow SCW Bombshell, Christina “Crystal Hilton” Zdunich. She stares at the phone she can use to call home and talk to their twelve year-old daughter Aurora. Aurora was in Los Angeles with her other mommy, the third woman in the relationship with Crystal and Seleana, Alexandra “Diamond” Caldwell. As Seleana activates the proper application, the smiling face of her daughter shines back at her.

Aurora Zdunich: Hi, Mommy!

Seleana smiles back.

Seleana Zdunich: Hej älskling. How are things?

Aurora’s smile brightens at her mother’s words.

Aurora Zdunich: It’s been cool having Mommy Alex home more! She seems so much happier lately, like all the pressure’s off and she can just be Mommy Alex.

Seleana nods knowingly.  The little girl always showed herself to be way more attentive than most gave her credit for.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, she would laugh at what is going on here.

Aurora grins.

Aurora Zdunich: Why’s that? 

Seleana grins.

Seleana Zdunich: Do you remember what I said would happen here?

Aurora nods.

Seleana Zdunich: It is working. I will be keen to tell you when it has all transpired.

The smile on the child’s face brightens again in anticipation.

Aurora Zdunich: When are your matches?

Glancing to the right, Seleana just nods slightly to the phone’s camera.

Seleana Zdunich: Sunday.

Aurora’s eyes light up.

Aurora Zdunich: I can’t wait for you to be back home too!

The Swede looks back to the camera and smiles for her daughter.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja?  First we must get to the matches on Sunday and they could be the kind of stories people tell about this place. Christina has a monster at the end of her story this week and in a way, so do I.

Aurora’s smile fades as confusion sets in.

Aurora Zdunich: Monsters?

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, Christina enters into a match where bad things are encouraged with someone that wishes to do her harm and has since this person’s arrival. I do not know all of the details of the why, simply that this is the monster that had been waiting for Christina to find her way through the maze of evil before her so that it may attempt to devour her.

Aurora shakes her head.

Aurora Zdunich: Mommy won’t let that happen. She is not just someone that gets set-up like a target at a carnival so somebody else can win the prize!

Aurora almost laughs.

Aurora Zdunich: They’re not even good prizes most of the time!  Mommy is better than that and always has been!

She pauses.

Aurora Zdunich: How do you mean you might have one too?

Seleana can’t help but smile.

Seleana Zdunich: It is called the Dream Killer. It waits for us at the end of this journey. It fights with no remorse and likes to toy with those it comes across before it takes them. It waits for three to make their way down to see who solves the riddle and seeks to be the one to slay the Dream Killer.

Aurora

Aurora Zdunich: Oh wow!

Seleana nods

Seleana Zdunich: The Saxon Gypsy from South London comes to test herself as her ancestors did against the Great Heathen Army. She is a great warrior who sometimes gets ahead of herself. When this happens, she leaves herself open to defeat in battle because her own self-assuredness has caused her to be too keen on herself. 

Aurora adjusts to be able to hear better.

Seleana Zdunich: Also in this great maze of Hoia, we have the Phoenix of New York and this firebird seeks to fly freely above all others on its way through the Maze. She lights her own path through the darkness seeking to avoid crashing and being forced to be reborn from the ashes of her previous direction.

Aurora nods, listening intently.

Aurora Zdunich: Who is the third one?

Seleana nods knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: The Viking Cat. She travels as the others do into the Hoia maze to seek the Dream Killer. She travels through the shadows, never allowing the darkness to catch her as she makes her way to the glorious end of the Maze.

Aurora Zdunich: What does the Dream Killer think of the three?

Seleana snickers.

Seleana Zdunich: The Dream Killer is almost insulted both because she believes no one is her equal so how dare anyone seek to challenge her but also that there are not more candidates. She is disappointed that she does not get to take more offers as tribute. The Dream Killer waits like the great nothing that knows it is inevitable. She does not believe it will matter whether the Saxon Gypsy of London, the Phoenix of New York or the Viking Cat is the one who emerges from the Maze for none are worthy of the Dream Killer and none can withstand her scorn and fury. Like all good monsters, she is formidable and confident that nothing can defeat her, especially in her own space.

Aurora Zdunich: But one of them can, right?

Seleana nods.

Seleana Zdunich: All of them can, it is simply a matter of if any can find the proper sequence to have a go at the Dream Killer and not fall into the Dream World and find themselves the victim of their own nightmares. It is what the Dream Killer plays on most and she is very good at it. The Saxon Gypsy of London is resistant to this power, as is the Phoenix of New York and the Viking Cat. The real question is…which of them emerges from the Hoia Maze and does that one emerge in one piece enough to have a go at the Dream Killer for her Great Prize for she holds onto a golden treasure?

Aurora giggles excitedly.

Aurora Zdunich: Oooooh!

Seleana smiles.

Seleana Zdunich: I will call you with more story tomorrow. It is late here.

Aurora can’t smile enough.

Aurora Zdunich: Ok, I love you, Mommy!

Seleana smiles back.

Seleana Zdunich: I love you, älskling.

The workday was coming to an end.

The zoo itself had closed at five, as was standard in the industry, and now the cleaning was taking place. This also meant it was a good time for paperwork to get done especially given that Seleana Zdunich, the woman whose name was on the place, would need to travel to the western end of Canada for the match on Sunday.

Now, as she sits at her desk, just about finished, her daughter-in-law, former SCU competitor Haylie Jo “Halo” Annis, comes walking into the room.   

Seleana Zdunich: HayJo…

Halo nods to her mother-in-law.

Halo: Hay, Mama Sel. how’s it goin’?

Seleana shrugs, laughing.

Seleana Zdunich: There was an incident earlier. A man attempted to liberate some birds however he made the mistake of opening the wrong enclosure and was almost assaulted by Gumbo.

Halo nods slowly.

Halo: I’d expect that Gumbo, ain’t no bird?

Seleana almost laughs.

Seleana Zdunich: Gumbo is an alligator from Louisiana.

Halo: Dayamn!

Seleana nods knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, it would not have been a good start to Blast From The Past weekend.

She pauses and then nods almost playfully.

Seleana Zdunich: Well, the first one.

Halo nods in response.

Halo: Did y’all have to scrape him up with a spatula or was Gumbo nice enough to just make him disappear and then clean up after himself?

Seleana snickers.

Seleana Zdunich: Razorback and Dirt were able to rescue and then eject him. Dirt has been babying Gumbo all afternoon because of this. He is worried that Gumbo was not keen to have a stranger in his home. Razorback made calls to check into this man. He is afraid to find out he had ties to something else. 

Halo frowns.

Halo: Afraid?

Seleana Zdunich: If the man was from San Diego, or example.

Halo ponders this for a second and then shakes her head dismissively.

HJHA I don’t think that Family would be interested in birds in Los Angeles.

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: I do not know what any of them are interested in but if Razorback is keen to ring some others up to find out who this man is…

Halo nods understandingly.

Halo: Yeh, I spose that’s not a crazy ass idea at all. Though, this seems more like them eco-terror whackos than anything else.

Seleana nods in agreement.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja, I agree on that.

Halo nods, shrugging in the chair she’s currently occupying as she does so.

Halo: So who all is gonna be in Canada for that show?

Seleana sits back in her chair to think on this.

Seleana Zdunich: I think Christina and maybe Chavy.

Halo almost breaks out laughing.

Halo: I still can’t believe she started dating Teddy.

She pauses, slapping the armrest on the chair. 

Halo: Hell, I can’t believe both Chavez Sisters are dating a Warren.

Again, Halo pauses, this time to nod in acknowledgement.

Halo: Granted, D-Dub’s a sweetheart but Teddy?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: It is funny that he now dates the sister of the one who made sure he lost in battle for a company, ja?

Halo snickers.

Halo: Yeah, that is pretty damn funny. How long has he liked guys too?
 
Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: I do not know. I never ask, it was not my business. He was never of interest to me and I hope I was never of interest to him.

Halo: Does Chavy know you still don't like him?

Seleana nods pointedly.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja. 

Halo starts chuckling again.

Halo: Well, as long as it’s cool with y’all…

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: Chavy is, how you say, grown?

Halo smirks knowingly.

Halo: Yeah, she’s a grown ass woman and can fuck whatever she feels like.

Seleana nods pointedly again.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja.

Halo shakes her head. 

Halo: Did she have to pick….that?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: They say the same for us, ja?

Taken aback, Halo stares at her mother-in-law in near shock that she would say such a thing about their respective wives. After a further second though, Halo is forced to nod in agreement.

Halo: Yeah, I spose they do… especially you, what with the #FreeSeleana stuff and all.

Seleana nods knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: Maybe Teddy shows Chavy a different side that only she see. It happens with Christina.

Halo: B-Brat too.

Seleana nods as she stands up.

Seleana Zdunich: Ja… let us go check on Dirt and Gumbo…

Halo grins and stands up as well.

Halo: I’m keen!

Seleana nods and leads the younger woman out of the office.

The camera opens upon Seleana Zdunich standing in the driveway of the home she shares with her wives, Crystal and Diamond, a rather large light illuminating the area so that everyone can see the tall blonde Swede in her blue jeans, Peter Vaughn t-shirt and black Nikes.  She glances down at the shirt and grins.

Seleana Zdunich: I am a Peter Vaughn for this, ja?

She shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: I am partnered with a man who has a long CV, Ja?

She nods to the shirt again.

Seleana Zdunich: He has won many championships and done very well in a very short amount of time here in SCW.

Looking at the image on her chest, Seleaa can’t help but giggle to herself.

Seleana Zdunich: It is funny that they team the janitor with the zookeeper. We both deal with filth others would not dream of touching. We both find serenity in simple jobs that others likely look down upon but would have problems if that job did not get done.

Seleana Looks up to the camera and nods knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: It is what makes him a Saviour, ja?

She shrugs slightly.

Seleana Zdunich: I know that is not why he is called that but it is the real reason, ja? Peter has spent his life saving others from things they did not wish to have to deal with. Now, he will team with me against his fellow Saviour “Godly” Ken Davison and the woman who won the Blast From The Past Tournament in 2018, Courtney Pierce.

She nods to herself as she looks down to her feet. 

Seleana Zdunich: This will not be an easy battle.

She shakes her head.

Seleana Zdunich: They never are but this one will be especially challenging. Courtney knows what it takes to win this whole thing and Ken’s CV is longer than Peter’s and even includes multiple halls of fame.

She nods to herself as if she knows exactly what’s coming next.

Seleana Zdunich: He has also won the SCW World Championship here twice already. No one would be surprised if he achieved another reign.

Exhaling heavily, Seleana continues to stare at her feet.

Seleana Zdunich: This will be my second time in the Blast From The Past, the winners both get shots at their respective World Championships.

She nods nervously to herself.

Seleana Zdunich: I have climbed that mountain before and climbed back up to get another shot at it as well.

She looks up into the camera.

Seleana Zdunich: No one thought I could do it the first time and no one thought I would ever get back.

She steps forward and points to herself.

Seleana Zdunich: I did it. I climbed to the top and now I have the chance to do it again if I can work well with Peter Vaughn. 

She jabs at her own chest again.

Seleana Zdunich: I need this chance. I need it more than anything else I have ever taken the chance at.

Seleana nods to herself knowingly.

Seleana Zdunich: I need this to prove to myself that I can do it. I need this to prove to myself that I can go out there and hold up my end against the very best.

She nods grimly.

Seleana Zdunich: Some would call Courtney and I flashes in the pan, ja?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: Then let us shine together and we show everybody watching that the four of us are the lights that everyone else wishes they were! Peter, you and I can do this and we will walk to that ring ready for anything!

She nods one more time.

Seleana Zdunich: It is time to blast off!

Seleana Zdunich: : This will not be pleasant.

As she stares at the screen, her daughter-in-law, Haylie Jo “Halo” Annis comes walking in the door.

Halo: What won't be pleasant, Mama Sel?

Seleana Zdunich: : My next opponent in SCW.

Halo nods slowly.

Halo: Who is it?

Seleana looks up from her screen.

Seleana Zdunich: : Kim Pain.

Halo frowns.

Halo: She lives up to her name don’t she?

Seleana allows herself a small nod.

Seleana Zdunich: : Ja, she seems keen to do so quite often. She is quite capable.

Halo walks over and looks at the screen.

Halo: Yeah, spose she is. So what are you gonna do?

Seleana shrugs.

Seleana Zdunich: : Stand in.

Halo stares at her mother-in-law for a second before just simply nodding in response.

Halo: Yeah, I spose that is the thing to do, ain’t it?

Seleana looks up, surprise and confusion on her face.

Seleana Zdunich: : You do not agree?

Halo shrugs.

Halo: Hey, I know I’d wanna punch hr in the mouth and let it rock with her but…

Seleana nods slowly.

Seleana Zdunich: : But I am not that…

Halo looks away, suddenly feeling slightly embarrassed for having said out loud what she just said.

Halo: I…

Seleana nods slowly.

Seleana Zdunich: : No, it is alright. You are right, I am not that person but I have not needed to be. I am the Cat and I do what I do.

Halo smiles in relief.

Halo: Damn right, y’all are, Mama Sel!

Seleana smiles back at Halo’s reaction.

Seleana Zdunich: : I know you mean no harm when you say that. I have heard it many times and I do not hold it against anyone who say it, especially you, Chickie.  I love you, HayJo.

Halo blushes.

Halo: I love you too, Mama Sel.

Seleana looks back to her screen.

Seleana Zdunich: : This will be quite the task…

Halo smiles.

Halo: Y’all be fine.  I’ve got faith in y’all.

Now it’s Seleana’s turn to blush.

Seleana Zdunich: : Tack, HayJo.
