Mercedes: Yes! I'm going to South America!

Director: Wait, what? But you just got two weeks off! We can't stop production now! Can't you cancel?

Mercedes: Oh, if only I could, Ricardo, if only I could. Then, I'll get fired and I'll have a lot more time to practice my method acting and film sessions. Would you like that?

[Mercedes, standing before a movie director to her immediate right and his film crew on her left, isn't exactly sure of what to do now that she'll be once again overseas. Montevideo, Uruguay for Climax Control on Sunday and off to Japan for another match the following night. It's not easy being a professional wrestler, especially one who made a career out of it for six years. Add a movie career to that, and it was more than just burning the candle at both ends. It was impossible. Still, she was sure that most people were able to balance two careers. Why not give it a shot?

Tomas, fiddling with the camera behind her stretches his arms, relieved to hear this news. Irma, standing to Mercedes' left, can only stand in silence while Javier maintain a stone face expression. Ricardo, the film director, sighs and shakes his head, knowing that this was a battle that he wasn't going to win. The rest of the crew had left him to do other things not wanting to deal with this sudden change of plans.
]

Director: It's whatever you want to do. Two weeks off just isn't enough time to get through with the rest of the movie. We can resume filming when you get back from your trip of South America.

[Mercedes mocks surprise crossing her arms with a skeptical eyebrow.]

Mercedes: You really mean it? I can go?

Director: Yes, Mercedes. You can go. But this is a one time exception.

Mercedes: Well, if you said it the first 1,000 times, I guess I'll believe it.

Director: I'm starting to think that myself.

[Mercedes forces a thin smile. At Ricardo's nod, she bows and leaves.]

“I've spent the past two months in the World Bombshell Tag Team Championship scene, so returning to singles competition, I think, was a breath of fresh air. A triple threat with Amy and Raynin is  something I'll be looking forward to.”

[Under misty grey skies, our scene opens on Mercedes Vargas here in Mexico City, her base of operations for the duration of the South America leg of the tour. So far, the decision has served her well, as of her last appearance on Climax Control when it was in Samoa, the trip took her less than a full day. As per usual SCW's camera crew has followed her throughout her excursion in the capital city. But this is far from a working vacation. The first thing on her mind: Amy Marshall.]

Mercedes: I don't think you can ignore Amy's success in 2015. You could say I'm even proud of her. Sure, we were in different circles for most of our careers, but the first time we faced each other in the promotion we were in before coming to SCW, there was always the sense that whenever we were on the same card, you knew that it was going to be a battle. When I came to SCW in 2013, I was pleasantly surprised to find Amy on the roster and the rest, as they say, is history.

[History that they would pick up 13 months later in an SCW ring. Amy Marshall won their first two matches, winning the Bombshell Roulette Championship and then retaining the title three weeks later. Both matches, however, did not result in a pinfall decision. With their ninth overall meeting as opponents coming up, Mercedes has only lost one other match - a tag match that saw Amy and Jessie Salco end Mercedes second World Bombshell Tag Team Championship reign with Traci Patterson at Into the Void III last year - but has defeated Amy in two other tag matches and earned a second pinfall victory over Marshall in a triple threat match that also involved Marshall's tag partner in Jessie Salco. Despite Amy's success in 2015, Mercedes know she's got her work cut out for her, especially against the other opponent in that match, Raynin, who also earns a pinfall victory over both.]

Mercedes: Honestly, Raynin is probably the favorite in this one, but that doesn't mean I'm going to roll over and let her beat me either. Despite what I think about The Fallen in general, Raynin is no slouch in the ring, you know, when she's booked.

[She laughs, but this was no laughing matter. She knew that both Amy and Raynin were going to bring their A-game. But there was one key difference between the three, and something she was sure to remind Raynin as well.]

Mercedes: I do have something that Amy doesn't have, and that's a pinfall over Raynin. She found out last time what happens when she underestimated me. I'll be more than happy to remind her again this Sunday.

Now that she was back in singles competition, it was time to start her climb to completing something that Amy Marshall has already done in short order this year: Become the next triple crown, and possibly, future grand slam champion. Was it something in the cards for Mercedes?

Mercedes: Nada es impossible.

[REC•]

[Outside of her hotel room, we find Mercedes smiling back at us. She seems a lot happier after her two week break, but now it was back to business as usual against two very dangerous opponents. She doesn't waste any time with her opening remarks.]

Mercedes: Don't tell me. 2015 is the year of Amy Marshall, and I, for one, couldn't be happy for you, Amelia. Now, I may not like how you beat Roxi to reclaim the Bombshell Internet Championship, but, I have to admit, that was pretty clever. Nonetheless, Roxi and Keira are now focused on other things, namely The Fallen, while you have your upcoming title match with one Lucy Seraphina next week in my hometown. Should be a good match, but what do you think would have happen if, say, I ruined that momentum, Amy? Don't say it's impossible, sweetheart, because you should know that I have always had your number. You've never pinned me in a decisive match in your career, over four years now.

That's gotta sting, no matter how many times I brag about it. I hope you bring your A-game. You're going to need it, champ.

[She next spends time on Raynin. Because, obviously, she's the biggest threat in the match, just in case you forgot.]

Mercedes: Hey, Raynin, how's it going? This is probably a little awkward with our match coming up this weekend and I know there's a little animosity still from our last encounter at Summer XXXtreme. I just wanted to say to you and Gothika congratulations on the win. Like you promised, The Fallen got the job done, retained the titles, it was a pretty good match. Of course, there's this other thing.

Look, I know we got off on the wrong foot in the week leading to that match three weeks ago and I may have said some things that made you upset, and for that I wish to apologize. Never knew that you had a hard-knock life and I feel just awful, terrible, horrible, knowing what you must have gone through in those dirty old labs and being prodded and probed and violated by strangers in white coats who thought they were looking out for you, but was simply making you their guinea pig for science. I felt even worse about Gothika dealing with death in the family and ending up in the streets. ¡Dios Mío! ¡Qué vida más triste! ¿Cómo lo hizo! Lo importante ambos llegaste aún mas.

[Mercedes trails off in a tangent of Spanish, but stops herself, forgetting that Raynin and Gothika probably aren't native to the language, or maybe they were, she didn't know.]

Mercedes: Sorry, kinda got carried away there. Anyways, you didn't exactly take a liking to me calling you and Gothika out for your, how can I put this now – absenteeism throughout your entire career, which does leave me and the casual SCW fan to wonder how have your survived in this company for this long? Don't get me wrong, it's a credit, but you are three-time tag champs and former world champs. Again, how did you get so much success in that amount of time. I hear your excuses, but really, I'm not buying it. Maybe it's because I'm not the one who believe that desecration is the better part of valor.

How either of you became world champion, let alone three time tag team champions is beyond me. Forget the riddle of the Spinx, the meaning of life or why grass is green, water is wet, or the sun is hot. This is one of the greatest mysteries of all time. There is a difference being impressed that you guys are tag champs and the casual fan asking, “The Fallen are World Bombshell Tag Team Champions? What year is it?”

I get why you're angry, I get why you're pissed off, but what really bothers me is that, along with Jessie and Amy, you and Gothika have been here longer than every current Bombshell on the roster. What does it say, then, when a champion goes MIA? The most amazing thing is those tag titles arround your waist had to be saved twice from being irrelevant – once during the Mean Girls, and the other when Delia and I won the titles back in July. And now, no thanks to the pair of you, those poor tag titles are going right back to being irrelevant. Can you hear them? Those titles are crying out. Crying out that they need a hero. Maybe it's time Roxi and Keira swoop in and save the day. For the time being, Raynin, you and I have a little unfinished business.

Well, sweetheart, you know as well as I do that I ALWAYS finish what I started. It may not have resulted with a win at the last supershow, but it will end with me, hopefully, pinning your shoulders to the mat and prove once and for all that my win over you the first time wasn't a fluke.

It was just expected.

So, go ahead and impress me. Show me the 248493 moves you know. All I need is just one. Two, if necessary. One thing is for sure, two things are for certain: One of us is walking out of this triple match with a win, and Amy, Raynin, you better not hope is me.

[She smiles at them, without much sincerity behind it.]

Mercedes:  I'll see you two in Montevideo. Ciao!

[Fade.]
