Title: A match for the ages!

 It’s well documented that Steve Ramone’s career really took off in the now defunct Global Wrestling Alliance, when he joined the fed he was nineteen years old and by his own admission a shitty wrestler but through determination and perseverance he improved dramatically eventually holding all but two of the GWA’s titles, the GWA United States and Global Championships, one of which he still owns since he won it on the last ever GWA show.

However there was one man in the GWA that he never faced in singles competition and that was Goth, a multi-time champion in his own right and when Goth announced his open challenge at Summer XXXTreme III Steve jumped at the chance and signed his name on the dotted line for a match at the next Climax Control for the Roulette Championship which was taking place in Wellington, New Zealand but can Steve cut Goth’s open challenge short by beating him?

I hate Green Day but I will quote a song title of theirs, Wake Me Up when September Ends.

Seriously is there anyone on the planet who likes September? At least the summer months has festivals and October has Halloween but September? Nothing! Well except for one thing, this Sunday a long awaited match will take place!

No, I’m not talking about Mikah’s latest murder attempt disguised as a tag team match!

That’s right, I’m talking about the Roulette Championship match between me and Goth and the fact that it’s opening up Climax Control tells me one of two things, 1: Christian’s still sore over the antics that I got up too whilst I was suspended earlier this year or 2: the bosses are idiots and considering that I get along with Mark I’m leaning towards number one.

I’ll be honest here, the Roulette Title wasn’t the main reason I accepted so quickly even if the pipsqueak with the worst Fearless Shot ever did screw me over at Summer XXXTreme III because quite frankly I never faced Goth in singles competition during my GWA stint, granted that also applies to a lot of guys but they are either retired or in another fed, Goth’s pretty much the only guy from the GWA who I still see on a daily basis!

And before you point out that I and Charlotte met when I was in the GWA, two things: she was never a wrestler and I said guys, not girls! Granted if Nathanial Havok was still here he’d be another guy I know from there but still!

Basically what I’m getting at is that I accepted this challenge for the chance to face off against Goth, the fact that it was for a title is just the icing on the cake!

As for what I’m up too at the moment me and the guys are enjoying a nice local breakfast as we plan out our day, yeah I know you usually see me doing this but this time it’s different, for one thing I’m FaceTiming with Charlotte on my IPhone.

“So how’s Marcus doing?” I asked as I leaned back a bit, Charlotte looked like she was sitting on the couch at our Las Vegas home and I could see Sophie playing on her 3DS on the ground in front of her.

“Growing up nicely, I think he inherited my hair colour though.” Charlotte commented as she shifted her weight. “I’d show you but he’s asleep at the moment, you mind if I send you a pic on Facebook later?”

“Look forward to it!” I responded with a grin and Charlotte’s grin broadened. “What about Sara and Corey? Have they heard of my next match yet?”

“Heard of it? I found out about through them!” Charlotte responded with a laugh. “Seriously, you’re finally facing off against Goth and there’s a title on the line? This is huge!”

“I know it is babe, aside from the fact that it’s opening the show but what can I say? Christian holds one hell of a grudge!” I responded before remembering about my food. “I’d better go before my food gets cold.”

“Don’t worry about it, up for another chat later?” Charlotte asked and I nodded. “FaceTime or Skype?”

“Skype, I’ll likely be on my laptop by then.” I responded and Charlotte nodded. “See you later.”

“See you.” Charlotte responded before hanging up and I pocketed my IPhone.

“I’m beginning to think that I chose the wrong year to get Charlotte pregnant again.” I commented as I started to eat my food. “It wasn’t so bad the first few weeks of the tour but ever since Charlotte was told to stop traveling for the baby’s sake I’ve been there for her less and less.”

“Yeah well, mixing kids into this business is difficult.” Cyrus commented as he finished his meal, Andreas on the other hand had finished his food a while back but thankfully my food was still warm. “On one hand they can grow up and follow in your footsteps, on the other hand you don’t exactly get a lot of time to spend with them.”

“Yeah, I know, hell the reason I took time off from wrestling in the first place was because I didn’t think I’d be able to be a good dad and wrestle.” I responded as I shook my head. “What attracted me to ASW and by extension SCW was the fact that it was a small company that didn’t tour much but that changed this year.”

“And yet you aren’t taking time off aside from Bloodstock.” Andreas commented before realizing something. “You ever worry about Charlotte not being faithful?”

“Don’t even joke about that.” I responded in a low voice. “You saw Marcus, he’s got my eyes and good looks! If that’s not my kid then I’m Hope Heelcum!”

“Still can’t believe that SCW once had a wrestler with that name.” Cyrus commented as he shook his head. “Speaking of SCW how about we change the subject to your upcoming match?”

“You read my mind! Maybe next time you can try using that power to stop Tim from screwing me over!” I responded and they winced. “But yeah, I’m really fucking excited for this match and there’s nothing more too it! The championship being on the line is just the icing on the cake as far as I’m concerned!”

“That may be the case but can you win?” Andreas asked and I nodded as I finished my food.

“I know I can beat him, anyway you guys go on ahead, I’ll pay for our meal and conduct my promo.” I responded and they nodded before getting up and leaving, once I paid for our meal I got up as well and left the café before turning to the camera.

“Six years, it’s been six long years since the GWA closed its doors, for those who don’t know the GWA was the fed where I cut my teeth in the wrestling business, sure I was in other feds long before the GWA but it was the GWA where I finally shined but until now there is one man who I never faced off against in one on one competition who was also in the GWA, that man is my next opponent, Goth.”

This will be epic.

“Goth and I have a long history together, he was already in the GWA before I signed up for the fed and it wasn’t long before I faced him in a match, thing was that we never had a singles match, we were sometimes facing off against each other in multi-man matches including the infamous Psycho Circus and sometimes we were in the same stable but the fact remained, until Goth issued his open challenge at Summer XXXTreme III we had never faced off and I never got the chance to!”

Needless to say I jumped at the opportunity.

“Trust me, the prospect of getting my ass kicked by Ronda Ramsey wouldn’t have kept me from signing that contract and you know what the strange part is? The Roulette Championship wasn’t the main reason I signed up for the match! I mean yeah, getting screwed over by Tim at Summer XXXTreme III played a huge part of it but the truth is that it was a one on one match with Goth that drew me too it.”

And that brings me to my next point.

“As we both know the Roulette Rules apply and honestly, I’m hoping for something bloody for this match! I mean yeah we probably won’t top the Barbed Wire Massacre Match between Keira Fisher and Melanie Gabrielle for the women’s Roulette Championship at Summer XXXTreme but we can at least give them a run for their money with the right stip, know what I’m saying?”

It’s that simple.

“Off course you do! We were both in the Psycho Circus! I still remember when Pain entered the match with Barbed Wire in his dreadlocks! Kinda makes me dread to think what Chris Shipman would’ve brought to the table if he ever competed in one! Anyway Goth, we know our history and this Sunday history will be made again when I beat you for the Roulette Championship! What will I do afterwards? I don’t know, maybe I’ll hold my own open challenge? But in the meantime know this, opener or not this will be a match for the ages!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“Goth, our awesome careers as wrestlers is only matched by our mutual respect for each other but at the end of the day there can only be one male Roulette Champion and that man will be me! Goth, I love you as a competitor and as a friend but at the end of it all I will walk out of Wellington the new SCW Roulette Champion! This message has been paid for and delivered by the “The Fearless One” Steve Ramone, the champ the fans deserve!”

I left the café as the scene fades.
