Title: World title here I come bitches!
Post by: Steve Ramone on October 09, 2014, 10:25:11 PM
(OOC: Drake’s appearance was cleared by Sam)

Steve wasn’t in action last week but he still made his voice heard by coming out at the beginning of the show and issuing an open challenge to anyone on the roster who has never faced before to face him in a one on one match at the next show, whilst that number did make up for a good majority of the SCW roster it didn’t take long for Steve to find an opponent, and oh boy, was it a big opportunity for him!

His opponent was the reigning SCW Champion Drake Green , not only that but Drake insisted that the title would be on the line against Steve an order that the bosses, owing  to Steve’s good performances as of late, were all too eager to wish and now the main event for the third show of the military tour was set as Steve took on Drake Green for the title, whilst Steve has won a lot of titles in his career he has never won the main title in any of the promotions he’s competed in but that might change this week, can Steve win his first main title?

Needless to say, that wasn’t expected.

When I made that open challenge I expected someone like Kris Halc, Ryan Kidd, Jon Dough hell I would’ve sooner expected Holly Wood of the Mean Girls to accept my challenge, but what did I get instead? A chance of a lifetime! This is a chance for me to win the SCW Heavyweight Title and shut up all the haters who think that I can’t cut it.

This sport is magnet for morons apparently.

So how did this go down exactly? Almost exactly like the preview said really but you know what? Fuck it! I’ll tell you anyway!

*flashback*

At the time I was watching the events of Climax Control play out in the NXT locker room with Sophie and Charlotte by my side, the match in question was the Roulette Rules/1000 Thumbtacks match between Equinox and Kris Halc that was quickly proving to be one of the most brutal Climax Control matches of the year and for good reason.

“You can look up now.” I told Charlotte as she looked away just as Kris was about to stab Equinox in the dick, yeah my balls were hurting just watching it. “Equinox countered the stab attempt with a roll-up.”

“Oh thank god!” Charlotte winced as she turned her attention back to the TV screen she’s been a bit squeamish about that kind of thing ever since she watched me play Outlast: Whistleblower and anyone who’s played that game will tell you why, after they’ve stopped screaming at the flashbacks to it that is. “Seriously, why would a man do that to another man?”

“I’d say because he wants the title but not even I would go that far to win!” I responded as Ringo interfered in the match bringing about the return of Hawkes. “What the hell happened to the real Hawkes?”

“Good question, I still remember him as the scrawny kid who was everyone’s punching bag for a while.” Charlotte responded as the show continued. “Speaking of matches, who do you think will accept your challenge?”

“That’s another good question because there are a lot of guys who I have never faced before on the roster.” I responded as we watched the show. “It could be anyone really.” I responded after thinking for a moment at which point there was a knock at the door and I got up to answer it, needless to say I wasn’t expecting to see the man on the other side. “Drake? Are you here for why I think you’re here for?”

“If by that you mean your open challenge then yes.” Drake Green responded with a grin and I let him into the locker room. “Okay, let’s get down to business I accept your open challenge!”

“Great, I can’t wait for the match.” I responded as I took a sip of my drink, Drake’s a guy who I’ve wanted to wrestle against since my ACW days but until now I never got the chance.

“Yeah Steve, I can see it now, “SHOWTIME” vs. “THE FEARLESS ONE”.” Drake said as if he was imagining it on a billboard. “SCW Heavyweight Championship on the line!” He added and I took a sip……

Wait, what?!

Yeah, I ended up spitting out the contents of my drink pretty quickly after that.

“Did….did I hear that last part right?” I asked as my surprise wore off and my excitement grew. “Not only are you accepting my open challenge but you want to put the title on the line?”

“I wouldn’t have it any other way Steve!” Drake responded as he patted me on the back. “Not only are you a legend and a veteran of this sport but after the shit you and your family went through with Gabriel earlier this year you deserve it!”

“Well if you put it that way, you’re on!” I said as I gave him a firm handshake which he returned. “And after next week, The Fearless One will become The Fearless Champ!”

“Looking forward to the challenge, that’s all I’m saying.”  Drake responded before he left the locker room.

*present day*

As a fictional 70s news anchor once said, boy that escalated quickly.

I’m not complaining off course, I’d be an idiot to complain about this! Sure, people like Rage and Sean Jackson might complain about it but at the end of the night I’ll be laughing at them, laughing at them all the way to the back with my new SCW Heavyweight Championship!

I know I’ll get a good match out of Drake but I won’t go down as easily as Odette Stevens goes does on any man she meets!

At the moment I’m at an autograph signing session at a local Wall-Mart which is pretty funny when you realize that Shane’s applying for Master Chef and they plug Wall-Mart a lot on that show but I digress, the autograph session is dying down actually as the crowd of autograph seekers has shrunk down to a small handful of fans.

“Okay, name please.” I said as a female fan approached me, once she gave me her name I signed the autograph and she was on her way and the same can be said for the other fans, once they were all gone I stood up and stretched. “Autograph sessions may be great for the fans but they can get tedious after a while.” I said to Charlotte who was sitting next to me.

“Just think if you win on Sunday the amount of autograph sessions will increase tenfold.” Charlotte responded and I sighed realizing that winning the match could end up being a double edged sword but I’m not going to let that stop me. “Speaking of the match, you think you’ve trained up enough for Drake Greene?”

“I know I have, remember I did go up to Las Vegas to do some extra training at Spike’s school earlier this week just to be sure that I was ready.” I responded with a grin and Charlotte nodded. “So err, you want to buy anything whilst we’re here?”

“I think we’re okay for food honestly and besides, they closed the store for the autograph session.” Charlotte responded as the store employees started clearing up the area set aside for the session. “Okay, you have one more session tomorrow morning but after that you’re free until Monday.”

“Yeah, put that down as a maybe because of my match against Drake.” I responded with a frown and Charlotte nodded. “I’ve been looking forward to it all week, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think I’ll be able to do anything productive Monday.”

“And if their decision to book you in a match not long after the Lion’s Den match against Gabriel is any indication you probably shouldn’t expect a week off next week, win or lose.” Charlotte pointed out and I sighed realizing that she was right. “I’ll be in the car I know you have a promo to do.”

“I won’t take long.” I responded as she walked out of the store, I left the store myself and went to the side of the building to do my promo.

“If you missed last week’s Climax Control for whatever reason he’s the breakdown of what happened to me, I issued an open challenge to anyone on the roster who I have never faced before, who answered the challenge? The SCW Heavyweight Champion Drake Green and the SCW Heavyweight championship is on the line!”

Yeah, I’m pretty excited.

“This was not the expected outcome of that segment but let’s be honest I’d have to be an idiot to complain about this! Winning my first title in SCW will be one thing, winning my first title in SCW and my first major title on the way hand? That’s something that can only happen once in a career and I’m going to make it happen!”

I’d say it’s that simple but I know better.

“Little history lesson to bring you guys up to speed, my SCW bio lists all the titles and awards I won during my tenure in the GWA, at first glance it looks like an impressive list but the GWA had two titles that I never won, the GWA US Title and the GWA Universal Championship, the top two titles basically, in my opinion if the GWA had stayed open I would’ve held those titles eventually but it didn’t and until now I never got a chance to get close to the title, this is something I plan to change at Climax Control.”

And I’m making good on that plan.

“Drake, you’re a great wrestler and a great champion, as a result I know that we’ll put on one hell of a match this week at Climax Control but you are facing a veteran who wants to win the major title in a promotion before he retires for good and thanks to your insistence that the title be on the line for our match at Climax Control you are getting just that! And by the end of the night that veteran will have his wish granted!”

I know it won’t be easy but I won’t back down.

“Let me just put this out there right away, when I win the title I will gladly grant Drake a rematch at any point in time, I will also happily accept challenges from the likes of Rage, Sean Jackson, Geno Burton Jr. and hell if it comes to it Gabriel as well, what I’m saying is that I will take on all comers and be a fighting champion! Naturally I have to get passed Drake first but I figured that I’d put it out there anyway.”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“This match may not have been what I expected when I finished that seg last week at Climax Control but I intend to make good of it! Drake, it’s a shame that this match didn’t happen earlier in the year because I can easily see it as a match of the year candidate but unfortunately the winners of this year’s awards are being announced this week, that said when all is said and done I will walk out the champ because there’s nothing to fear but fear itself and no one to fear but “The Fearless One” Steve Ramone when there’s a title on the line.”

I went to join Charlotte as the scene fades.
