Act 1: Christmas Tidings

"Christmas is a season for kindling the fire for hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart."
Washington Irving

The scene opens on the city of Jersey Shore. The city was decorated for Christmas, and the lights that were strung up glowed brightly against the buildings that lined the streets. Snow had fallen and it made the city look that much better for the holidays. We soon see a black limo driving through one of the poorer sections of the city. As the camera moves in we see Joanne and Scarpaci sitting in the back, while Reno and Rude sat up front, with Rude driving. "Christmas Shoes" begins to play on the radio.

Rude: Oh not this song.

Reno: But I thought you liked this song?

Rude: I do, but it makes me cry every time.

Reno: I know how you feel man. It makes me feel peaceful.

Rude: "Sir I wanna buy these shoes for my momma please; It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size. Could you hurry, Sir, Daddy says there's not much time you see she's been sick for quite a while. And I know these shoes would make her smile and I want her to look beautiful if mamma meets Jesus tonight...

With that tears start to stream down Rude's face, and he takes his hands off the wheel. Reno grabs it, as the car swerves.

Joanne: What in the hell is goin' on up there?

Rude: I need... a moment. I'll be fine...

Reno: I got it.

Rude takes a deep breath and takes back the steering wheel and they continue on.

Scarpaci: It is a good song. It fills with the feeling of peace and tranquility.

Joanne: I do to. But I wish they wouldn't play them over and over again. I can't stand Christmas Music.

Rude: What? Now you just hating on Christmas! You nothing but a Scrooge.

Reno: I can see why she gets frustrated. I mean you hear the same music over and over again everywhere you go. It can get on your nerves after a while.

Joanne: I love this time of year. I mean it makes me feel good givin' those kids feel special at least one time of year. We grew up gettin' everythin' we usually wanted.

Reno: You did remember to put the toys in the trunk right?

Rude: Of course I did. Do you think I'm stupid or something?

Reno: Of course not. Just making sure we had everything. You got the red bag and not the black one right?

Joanne perks up, as she moves toward the divider and sits in the seats against it.

Joanne: Please tell me that you brought the right one. The last thing we need is for the shipment to fall into the wrong hands.

Scarpaci: Don't worry both bags are in the trunk sis. I made sure of that this morning.

Joanne: What? Are you f***in' kiddin' me? Do you know what will happen if that other bag bursts?

Scarpaci: Don't worry, nothin's goin' to happen to it. It's secure.

Joanne: Yeah but now we have 2 keys of coke in the trunk. If anyone knows it's there it'll be gone.

Rude: Don't worry boss. The neighborhood were going to is nothing to worry about. Besides if anyone else is caught with it, they'll get their ass tossed in jail and they'll return our "presents". Besides Blitzskin is going to be there. We have nothing to worry about.

Joanne: You're right.

They soon arrive at the large church that loomed over the street.

Reno: Do you have your Santa Suit Scarpaci?

Scarpaci: Of course I do. Do you think I would disappoint those kids?

Rude: I can't believe that we let Scarpaci do this every year.

Reno: Yeah really.

Joanne: Yeah I know, but the kids seem to keep him calm if nothin' else.

Reno: Are we still going to Mass on Christmas Eve?

Joanne: Of course we are. But we'll be in Italy when we do. After the show on Sunday night we'll fly to Italy. I don't want to miss Christmas with my father.

Reno: Right. I guess we could do that.

Joanne smiles as they head into the hall where the kids waited with the sisters. The guys set the presents down, as Joanne sits down with the mother superior and signs a check and hands it to her.

Joanne: I hope this helps. I mean I know the party isn't much for the kids but I hope they enjoy it.

Mother Superior: Miss Canelli you don't know what this means to the children. They look forward to it each year, and now with the generous donation that you have made we'll be able to pay the bills for the next year.

Joanne: You're welcome. I mean my brother and I were both privileged and it does my heart good to be able to give back to the community.

The older woman smiles before she moves toward the children leaving Joanne alone. She sits at the table watching everything moving around her taking it all in. Her match was just a few days away and she knew it wasn't going to be easy. She had to fight through three others just to get her hands on the number one contenders spot for the Bombshell Title and this time she was going to take it no matter what the cost.

Joanne: *Voice Over* One final match before Christmas and what a match it's goin' to be. Four of us are goin' to walk into that ring, but only one can walk away with that number one contender spot. I don't plan on losin' to the likes of you, and I will do whatever it takes to brin' you all down without a second thought. I know I've already had my hands on it, but I would like to have a chance at it, and I'll get it because no one is goin' to stop from facin' Amy Marshall for it. Now Mercedes you and I have stood toe to toe before, and yet you fell flat on your face. Do you really think that you're goin' to be able to make it through the match without a melt down? Or do you need some time to rest in between each hit? Mercedes I know that you have talent it's just you haven't really shown it, and you seem to be fadin' into the background really quickly for someone that just started here don't you think? Me, I take the time off that I need, and do somethin' constructive with my time, but you... Little miss party girl need to find a better way of doin' thin's, and hope they don't find you dead before you have your first midlife crisis.

Scarpaci soon disappears and reappears as Santa. The kids cheer as they see him, and each one sits upon his lap telling him what they want.

Joanne: *Voice Over* Emma the last time I was in the ring with you, it was for a chance at the Tag Titles, and you didn't help me in the least. We could have had those titles but you got distracted and I have no idea what happened. But this time we will stand face to face in the middle of that ring, and trust me this time there will be no escape from my wrath, and I will brin' everythin' that I have, everythin' that I am in there and will do whatever it takes to make sure I walk away with the number one contender's spot while you are in the middle of the ring laid out wonderin' what happened and why you are worthless like the rest of them that were in the ring with you. Emma you have talent, but you need to improve on what you do in the ring and maybe then you'll be as good as I am.

Joanne smiles to herself, as she watches Scarpaci grab one of the kids and takes him behind the chair that he was sitting in, only to come out a few seconds later, with the kid pale in color. She shakes her head and leans back in the seat, as Reno and Rude hand the presents out to the kids as they hop down from Santa's lap.

Voice: Enjoying yourself?

Joanne looks over and sees Blitskin standing beside her. Joanne smiles gets up from where she sits.

Joanne: Yeah. The kids are havin' a good time. It makes me feel good you know.

Blitskin: Yeah. I thought you would have left for Italy by now.

Joanne: Actually we're flyin' out from Vegas after my match this week.

Blitskin: So what about our kickbacks?

Joanne: You'll be gettin' them. That's our next stop actually, so don't worry you'll be gettin' your Christmas "bonus".

The two of them laugh, as Reno comes over with a small gift in hand.

Joanne: What's this?

Reno: It's for you. I picked it up for you last week and I haven't had a chance to give it to you.

Joanne smiles and takes the box from him, and opens it revealing a heart shaped locket. She opens the locket and it opens with a picture of the two of them on the inside.

Joanne: Thank you. I love it. You'll get yours when you get home.

He blushes as she kisses him, and smiles softly, as he goes back to handing out presents to the kids.

Blitskin: So when are you tying the knot?

Joanne: I have no idea. He hasn't asked me yet.

Blitskin: Shame. Well I'm heading back to the station. I'll see you soon.

Joanne waves as he heads out into the bright day, leaving Joanne alone once again.

Joanne: *Voice Over* Traci you and I have met a couple of times, and I have to say you're good and you seem like a decent person. You've been thrown into a ring with three women that want nothin' more than to grab a chance at facin' Amy in January. You've only been here a few weeks and I don't think you're really ready to have that much risk put upon your shoulders. Do you think you can stand against all of us? How long do you think you'll be able to hold us off? But worst of all how bad do you want that shot? I've held the title already, but that doesn't mean I don't want it. I've been in matches like this before and I've managed to make it a long way, before either bein' thrown out, or pinned. I'm goin' to do whatever it takes to be the last one standin't in the end. I've done it once and I'm goin' to do it again. We are the Mafioso; and we get paid to kick your ass! See you soon ladies.

Joanne smiles to herself and heads over to where the guys were, in the elf costume she wore. The kids cheer as they see her, and hug her, as the scene fades to black on the festive scene.
