Caracas, Venezuela
It has been a rough few weeks for the Sin of Wrath, Rage. At Blaze of Glory II he had his chance to regain the SCW Heavyweight Championship. He finally had his chance at doing what only Nick Jones has been able to do as of yet by becoming a two-time Heavyweight Champion. Yes, he had his chance, but he failed. And after that loss, his mood has only been getting worse by the day. Normally when he was in such a mood, he'd take his frustrations and anger out in the ring, but he hasn't had that opportunity. Everyone had the week off last week, and this week unfortunately the big man wasn't booked. To say that he was a bit on edge would be more than an understatement.
He, Synn and Shane are currently backstage watching Gabriel's match against Jordan Williams. Well, Synn and Shane are paying more attention it seems, as Rage is off in his own little world, letting his emotions brew. He is sitting off to the side, away from Synn and Shane, and only glances at the monitor every so often. Each time he turns his attention to the match, he watches as Odette continues her little tricks , obviously favoring Jordan Williams in this case. He huffs and puffs, shaking his head.
"This is bullshit!"
Shane turns to look at him, and nods his head in agreement.
"Couldn't agree with ya more, baldy. I'm not sure how making Odette the referee was the right decision here."
"I wasn't talking about that. That was the second mistake they made."
Synn and Shane exchange a confused glance at one another. Shane shrugs, and Synn turns his attention back to the monitor as he addresses Rage.
"And the first would be what exactly, Rage?"
Rage looks at the monitor and watches as Odette does two of the quickest two counts in history as Jordan attempts to pin Gabriel. He growls and shakes his head.
"Isn't it obvious? The first was letting Gabriel handle Jordan Williams in this match. It's nothing against Gabriel, but if he really wanted Jordan to get a beating, I should have been the one to do it."
While Shane displays his clear surprise at Rage's admission, Synn remains silent as he intently pays attention to Gabriel's match.
"Don't take this the wrong way mate, but have you lost your damn mind? Gabriel needed to deal with this himself. It wouldn't have made sense to put you against Jordan to fight his battle for him. Unless of course you want to prove everyone who has said you're the bitch to the Sins right."
Rage glares at Shane, clearly disagreeing with that last statement.
"Fuck that. I told you it was nothing against Gabriel, but come on. This shit is way to personal for him. You both know how this shit has affected him recently! I'm sure he wouldn't have minded--"
"Regardless of how it has affected him, Rage, I agree with Shane. Gabriel needed to do this himself. I understand your thoughts, but he doesn't need you to fight this battle for him."
Rage stares at Synn and Shane. He appears shocked at first, then narrows his eyes as his frustrations only build. He clenches his fists at his side, as he stands up, glancing at the monitor as he heads for the door.
"Excuse me if I don't agree with that one. I'm not going to sit back and watch as those two pull that shit."
"What are you thinking about doing, big man?"
Shane tries to stop Rage, but it falls on deaf ears as Rage just storms out of the locker room, slamming the door behind him. He doesn't even notice that Gabriel has just won the match. Shane turns to face Synn to see it happen just in time. Though he seems confused about Rage's behavior.
"Well I'll be damned. Good for Gabe, but any idea what the hell that is going on with Rage?"
Synn shakes his head, showing his own shock, though it is aimed more at what is currently taking place in the ring.
"Not a clue, but if he is thinking about interfering in the situation in the ring, it is a bit pointless now. It seems as though Gabriel and Odette fooled us all."
Synn points to the monitor and Shane looks at what he is talking about. He can't help but get an amused smile on his face, and he nods with a laugh.
Elsewhere in the building...
Synn and Shane were expecting Rage to head out to the ring and attempt to help Gabriel, but the big man had other plans. Instead, the big man is fuming down the hall and only stops when he reaches a door with Christian Underwood's name on it. Rage doesn't even bother to knock as he barges inside to a now surprised and unhappy boss.
"By all means, please let yourself in."
Sarcasm shines through in Christian's tone, but Rage doesn't care. He approaches Christian, all but seething.
"I want a match against Jordan Williams next week, and you better not tell me no!"
"Pardon me? I don't know who you think you are trying to order me around Rage, but you better think twice about doing it again."
"You'll get over it. Now, are you going to make the match or not? Because if not, I'll have to take things into my own hands."
Rage folds his arms across his chest, making it a point to crack his neck and stare down at Christian. It is no surprise that Christian is not intimidated in the slightest.
"Just what reason do you have for wanting this match against Jordan? Last I checked, his business was with Gabriel and not you."
"That is exactly why I want a match against him! I'm not going to sit back and let him and Odette pull this shit with Gabriel."
Christian nods but seems a bit confused.
"I see. However, as well intentioned as you may be, I'm afraid I can't make sign that match."
"You're fucking kidding me, right?! Look, either you let me handle him in the ring or--"
"Before you finish that thought, Rage, you might want to go speak with Gabriel."
Rage is now confused and he shakes his head.
"What? Why the hell would I need to do that?"
"You clearly didn't see what happened after Gabriel's match, did you?"
"No, I didn't. I wasn't about to watch Odette cost Gabriel--"
Rage is cut off as Christian begins shaking his head.
"That didn't happen. Not only did Gabriel beat Jordan, but it seems Gabriel and Odette had all of this planned. So, there really is no need for you to face Jordan."
"I don't care if they had this all planned! Jordan still--"
"The answer is no, Rage! Gabriel dealt with Jordan Williams himself, and that is it."
Rage doesn't seem pleased with the way this is all headed. He takes in a deep breath, and his nostrils flare. He can feel his temper building inside him and takes a few steps back so he doesn't do something stupid. He growls loudly and turns around ready to leave. Before he walks out, Christian calls out to him and stops him.
"Oh Rage, that doesn't mean I am about to deny you a match next week if that is what you want so badly. If you're so ready to defend the Sins, I'll give you that chance...against Goth. And it will be an Extreme Rules match."
Rage's attitude suddenly changes instantly. He gets a wicked grin on his face as he nods at his boss appreciatively.
"That sounds more like it. I get to finish that white faced freak once and for all."
Rage then turns and walks out, leaving in a better mood than he had started with. Christian stands there shaking his head as the scene fades out.

Monday Afternoon-The Flight to Colombia
Rage and the rest of the Sins, minus Gabriel, are currently on their flight to Colombia for the next stop of the tour. Gabriel and Despayre have the week off, and after the events that unfolded after his match against Jordan Williams, none of the Sins could argue that he and Odette needed some alone time to "catch up." Rage has a match against Goth to focus on this week, and in the short amount of time that he has known about the match, he has been trying to do just that, though to his surprise, his mind begins playing tricks on him.
As Synn keeps an eye on Despayre, and Shane and Fantasia keep each other pre-occupied on the flight, Rage is sitting a few rows behind them, secretly looking back and forth to each of them. He studies each of them, as the self doubt begins to swirl in his mind.
"What am I still doing here? What role to I play in the Sins anymore?"
He watches as Despayre stands up in his seat, holding Angel carefully in one hand as he shows off his NWA World Tag Team championship belt to Shane for the millionth time.
"I'm right back to where I started. Gabriel and Despayre have gold around their waists, and I don't. I was at the top of the ladder, but I lost it all and I can't seem to get it back. I was so sure I had Spike beat, but I fucked it all up. I let the Sins down...I fucking let myself down!"
He quietly listens as Shane and Fantasia laugh about something Despayre said, but he didn't catch it as his own thoughts distracted him.
"I know Synn and Shane aren't too happy with everything I said and ultimately did last night. I'm fairly sure they think I didn't have faith in Gabriel to handle the situation with Jordan, but that wasn't it. Shit, Gabriel held the Heavyweight before me...before anyone else...I know damn well he can handle his own, and then some. I don't doubt he'd be the Heavyweight Champion right now if he wanted it, but he doesn't. I was just beyond pissed at everything that dickhead Jordan was doing to Gabe. Little did any of us know that Gabriel was playing his own trick. Next time I see Gabe, I'm gonna have to give him a big pat on the back for that one."
The corner of his mouth turns up in the makings of a smile, and he laughs on the inside, but his expression turns serious shortly after.
"Regardless of the fact that Gabriel and Odette were playing their own trick on Jordan, it doesn't erase the fact that Jordan wasn't pretending. He was truly trying to steal Odette from Gabe. He was going after someone who I consider family and he didn't give a shit what it was doing to him. Jordan only cared about himself, and as I sat back and watched it happened, the anger was only building more and more. Hell, I'm pissed at Gabriel and Odette now that they didn't even let any of us in the Sins know! Particularly me, because I was damn ready to end Jordan, and they know damn well I'm capable of it."
Shane turns around and looks at Rage, noticing how quiet the big man is.
"You alright back there, mate? You're too quiet."
Rage responds with just a simple nod of his head. He doesn't say a single word, and Shane shrugs, turning back around.
"No, I'm not alright, Shane. I can't tell you the truth. I can't even tell Synn the truth, because you'd all think there is something wrong with me, and honestly, I'm starting to believe it myself. With each loss, I feel like more of a fucking failure. I feel like less of a Sin. Fuck! I'm supposed to be the Sin of Wrath! If they were to find out what I'm thinking right now...Shit, it doesn't matter because I'm not going to talk about it. I'm not going to let this slump I'm in continue."
He closes his eyes and thinks about the past several months...the past year really. It has been an year of highs and lows, but the only thing he can focus on unfortunately, is the lows.
"I'm sick and tired of being labeled the joke of the Sins. I'm sick of being the only failure in the Sins, and it has to stop! I can't sit back for much longer and watch as Gabriel and Despayre continue to dominate and be the only ones that bring a good image to the group, while I continue to be a fuck up and lose. I can't be a failure to the Sins....I won't do it any longer."
He opens his eyes, once again looking at the only people he has considered family. He looks at Despayre, and the memories of what his upcoming opponent put them through last year spring to his mind.
"I know the shit with Goth is pretty much done and over with, but in my mind it's not. I never really got my shot at making Goth pay for the hell he put Despy through, but I guess I can use this match on Sunday as my chance. Now, if only they had put Jordan in as a third participant, I'd be a bit more satisfied, but I'll get my hands on him sooner or later. I know Synn didn't want me fighting Gabe's battle for him, but that's not the way I saw it. It's more of my way of sending a clear message to people. When you fuck with one member of the Sins, you fuck with us all. This match on Sunday will be my one and only warning to Goth."
The flight attendant then makes the announcement that they will be landing shortly. Synn tells Despayre to take his seat and fasten his safety belt, and Despayre reluctantly does so.
"I've got a lot of pent of aggression and hatred for Goth, and I'm really looking forward to this match. Extreme rules means I can do whatever the hell I want to that asshole. The pain I'm going to put that evil son of a bitch through will bring quite a smile to my face. The others might be happy with letting the shit with Goth be in the past after Despayre beat him, but I'm not. I'm going to prove to them that I deserve to be here and that I'll defend them for as long as they need me to. I'll prove to them I'm still the Sin of Wrath when I beat Goth on Sunday."
He looks down for a moment, closing his eyes as he thinks, and a few moments later he lifts his head once again, revealing a dark and sadistic look in his eyes.
"I can't accept defeat anymore. I can't be known as the Sin of Wrath and be seen as a constant failure. It's not acceptable. I can't let the Sins down anymore."
The plane then begins making its descent into Colombia, and Shane turns around to look at Rage once again. He doesn't say a word, but watches Rage, who has his eyes closed in deep thought, and can't help but wonder what is going on with him. He's been around Rage long enough to know when he's not himself, and this is one of those times. As the plane lands, Rage opens his eyes, acknowledging that Shane was looking at him, but he still remains silent. As much as Shane antagonizes him, deep down, he knows it has all been well intentioned, and he can't let him or any of the others down.
He just can't.
