Many fans and wrestlers alike wouldn’t have even contemplated that the most unlikely pairing would walk away as champions, Kain and Lucian Frost, however at Climax Control they witnessed the crowning of a new team that etched their names into the history books by their historic victory. Not only have they captured the SCW Tag Team Titles but they will be remembered as the men who ended the longest reign in SCW Championship history. Lucian Frost is the only man on the roster to begin the year as a champion and end it as one, back in January he was crowned the inaugural Roulette Champion and in December he’s captured the Tag Team titles, quite an achievement for the man of mystery as he continues his development within Sin City Wrestling. He has added his name amongst an elite few to try and become the first Triple Crown Champion, joining the likes of Rage, Casey Williams and the man he defeated last week, Gabriel.
Frost knows the expectation in the coming year is going to be huge, having captured the Championships and trying to follow in some very big footsteps, as well as the prospect of becoming the first man to hold all three available men’s championships is a daunting prospers. It’s a challenge Lucian looks forward too with great glee. Christian Underwood announced during the show that Kain and Frost would be placing the belts on the line, against the team they pinned to capture their crowning glory in the Young Lions, this coming week Lucian will battle Max Burke in a showcase before the big Supercard that will open two thousand and thirteen. Knowing full well Max will be looking for retribution against the masked man after seeing him pin his partner, as well as Max wanting to get back to winning ways at the cost of the new champion, it is going to be a huge test for both counterparts as the two are going to be locked in a game of one-upmanship.
Lucian looks out of his hotel window on this cloudy morning, his eyes glancing not of his surroundings but of the reflection of him with the tag team title draped over his shoulder, he lifts the heavy belt off and just stares into the gold faceplate. The gold glistens as he holds the leather strap with both hands, seeing the word ‘Championship’ put his whole world into prospect that he once again is a champion, before he was the first but now he is following in the footsteps of previous champions. As the roulette champion he had no expectation, whatever he did would be the benchmark for all to come, with the tag team champions he is now got to create a legacy worthy of his predecessors. Sinful Obsession made the championships and the tag division their own with countless victories against many worthy foes, it will not be forgotten their reign and Frost knows it won’t be easy to get out of their overbearing shadow, but it is a challenge and conquest he looks forward to heading into the new year.
Draping the title belt back over his shoulder and perching himself on the edge of the bed, Lucian grabs the remote and presses a few buttons, looking up to see the television flicker on and the action being of the Young Lions facing the Surf Boys, the match going back and forth between the two teams. It shows Trevor pinning Narly for the victory. Lucian pauses the action. Lucian tilts his head in curiosity.
“Trevor Irons getting the victory one week and then the following he is the one being pinned, from the glorious high he experiences a tremendous low, getting the vital debuting victory we all desire and getting that killer blow of defeat is a tough lesson for all of us to learn. Max Burke you have had both sensations but you haven’t felt the joy of pinning someone for the victory or haven’t felt the disappointment as your shoulders are pinned for the three count. This week perhaps it is your turn to feel the sensation of victory or the gut wrenching disappointment of defeat”
Lucian switches off the television and taps the plate of the championship
“We both entered the ring last week knowing the mammoth task before us, Gabriel being a former and inaugural Heavyweight Champion paired with his partner made tag history in this promotion, there reign was long and memorable but it has come to a dramatic conclusion as a new chapter begins. We both had belief but only one team prevailed and it is I who sits with championship gold once more, not you and your partner, the chapter of Frost and Kain has begun and you’re the antagonists to this story. “
He lets out a slight cough before taking the championship off his shoulder and rests it on his thighs.
“Someone once said ‘the secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. if you do that, you’re in control of your life. If you don’t life controls you.’ You being the student of this game you’re learning with every match, being a second generation star you’re bread and brought up in this industry, developing that passion of learning that you will never cease to grow. Your learning of this industry can only put you in good stead for years to come. It’s prospects as to what you can achieve is unlimited, you could be the next team to hold this belt, you could be the next team to match and overcome Sinful Obsessions achievements, or you could end up like so many others who have great prospects but wither and die due to their inept to actually adapt and learn from their competitors.”
Lucian shakes his head.
“What I mean is you could be like Matthew Kennedy when we both debuted in the SCW, he tried to ‘Cancel’ me on many occasions and each time he failed, never learning from his previous encounters and the person who suffered was himself knowing he couldn’t beat me. You have the chance to grow into a successful team and a successful wrestler, just like your ancestors before you, you have the chance to learn from our encounter coming into New Years Rising and perhaps use this match as the catalyst to your success. But your young mind seems to believe that by me ‘lying down in the ring and look at the lights’ will be my undoing, fearing the worse of defeat to you, I do not fear defeat to you as many have been defeated at my young hand here in the SCW, but I do not say ‘staring up at the lights will be a familiar view’, it’s like me saying ‘take a look at this title belt as I’ll be walking into climax control with it and walking out with it too’, it’s a simple statement that has nothing but empty words to it”
“Bruce Lee once said ‘Knowledge will give you power, but character respect’ you say you respect me well learning is a part of your pedigree, you will have to learn once in the ring with me that you are in for a true fight! I do not need family legacy to make me who I am, the legacy I have is the one I am making for myself and I do not think I am doing a bad job at it, considering I have held two out of the three men’s championships here in the SCW. Just like the Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, you have your past with your family and you maybe the future in this promotion but the present time is going to be a rocky road as before you is me and then it’ll be me and a former number one contender for the heavyweight champion in Kain, the present is ours and it will not be gifted to you on a silver platter.”
Lucian grabs the championship and stands up. All week he’s been training to make sure he is in the best shape possible for the up and coming month ahead, facing someone with a young heart and desire is going to take its toll on anyone’s body so best it’s prepared for the oncoming storm. Taking his leave from the room and stepping out into the cold breeze that is now blowing onto his body, a newspaper brushes past his foot and begins to get cause in the breeze, Lucian watches it float away before he walks off into the distance. Going through a dark archway but doesn’t reappear from the other side. The mysterious masked wrestler will have a lot of doubters over the past few months but he’ll be looking to put them to bed with a successful title defence in the new year, but the road starts tomorrow night when he faces one of his opponents, Max Burke.
