Title: Moving the party to Reno
Post by: KojiVerse on May 01, 2012, 10:39:39 AM
It is early morning outside of London. On a lot that was once vacant, campers gather their headlights casting beams of light into the dark. Loud music blares from a few of the trailers, the music blending into a lovely sort of chaos and all around people are dancing. As we circle around the party we see people eating over fires, hoards of young people dancing and a stray fight or two breaking out around the edges. In the center of it all is a huge group of people dancing on each other where the headlight beams all converge and in the center of all that is Aleksei Koji. He is wearing his patchwork coat and boxers. He is dancing on people and singing to the music. The crowd is a mix of gypsy and SCW fans who were at the show earlier.

A fan wearing a Spike Staggs T-shirt comes up to Aleksei trying to get his attention. Aleksei takes a break from grinding on an appreciative female fan to look at the young man.

Fan: Listen mate, don’t take this the wrong way but you do know you lost the match tonight.

Aleksei: I did?...

Aleksei laughs putting an arm around the fan.

Aleksei: I kid...I kid. Of course I know I lost, but it was a good fight. That is what matters. You should see the parties I throw when I win.

The fan laughs nervously mostly because a large, drunk man has him nearly in a headlock. Thankfully Aleksei lets go and goes back to dancing. The party continues as we zoom out. Who knows how long it will last.

Days later somewhere in Texas...

Aleksei Koji stands in a large parking lot. His trusty number one fan, Danny, is there as well. Also a few people from the party are with Aleksei as well. Young people from England with not much to do have followed Aleksei looking for adventure. What they got was a parking lot in Texas where Danny camper was suppose to be. Only a lone wrestling action figure and some cans of beer remain.

Danny: I am thinking it was bad idea to let those Texas girls crash here while we went to London.

Aleksei frowns for a moment and then shrugs with a laugh.

Aleksei: Oh well, I guess the party is over for now. Come on Danny lets find ourselves a ride.

The small crowd seems disappointed and mildly confused. One fan is heard asking how he is going to get home

Somewhere else in Texas....

Aleksei is on the side of road somewhere in Texas. Fields and wide open spaces surround him as a slow but steady flow of traffic ignores him. He has a sign that says “Will wrestle for a ride to Reno.”

Danny: I thought you said you would buy a new camper.

Aleksei: I didn’t like any of those campers...choosing an RV is a very important thing. Anyways I thought it would be fun to hitch hike, who knew it was so hard in America!

A truck slows down and pulls to the side of the road. A burly looking guy with a trucker hat on eyes Aleksei with deep contemplation.

Driver: I know you. Aint you that wrestling guy?

Aleksei is not sure if he is THE wrestling guy that the man is talking about but he figures he is close enough and smiles.

Aleksei: Oh yes I am that wrestling guy.

Driver: Well hot damn I have never met a pro wrestler. Get on in the back! Name’s Jeb by the way!

On the back of Jeb’s truck someplace between Texas and Reno. Aleksei sits on top of a water cooler looking at the traffic before looking directly at the camera.

Aleksei: So I figured now is as good a time as any to cut a promo. I got the voicemail last night telling me I had a match this week against Adam Smith. I am told by my internet guy that my fans want to hear my thoughts on this upcoming fight.

The truth is I don’t have a lot of thoughts on The Jackal. I saw him fight at the PPV I think. He was one of the guys in the football brawl who didn’t win. He seemed like a decent fighter, big enough that I can’t just break him in the first minute. I hate when a match ends before it gets good. If I don’t take a few solid hits, it is not worth my time.

What I noticed most about Jackal boy is that he seemed kind of tired. I hear he has had some injuries, been beat up a lot over the years. This business can wear a man down if he is not strong enough. I am worried about you Adam Smith. I am worried he is not ready to give me the fight I am looking for. Perhaps he is too tired.

Aleksei pauses and looks over his shoulder. His eyes light up.

Aleksei: I think we are getting close to Reno. So I will try to finish this up. Adam Smith you are a fighter, I can see that. You have had your battles and maybe the best of them have already come. I hope that is not true because I don’t fight tired, worn out fights. You ask Johnny Brown what it means to get in the ring with me. No matter where in the card, no matter where I am if I am going to start swinging my fist I will show everyone around what a true battle is. You have a fight coming your way so you better be ready for it.

Aleksei than jumps up turning around, throwing his arms up as the truck drives into Reno.

Aleksei: HELLO SMALLER LAS VEGAS!!!

He then turns back around.

Aleksei: This weekend Jackal, you and I are going to show this town a real fight. I will make our match a main event. Either people will see two titans clash and nearly bring the ring down, or they will see a Dire wolf tear a jackal pup to shreds. It is your choice.

Aleksei smiles and sits back down on the cooler.

Aleksei: Now turn that thing off and lets find ourselves some booze, and kin. Tonight we gather the travelers and show this town a thing or two.
