Title: A Match For The Ages
Post by: Kain on July 19, 2024, 08:03:49 AM
It's been a long time since Kain first appeared in SCW. His name was to be feared in the underground world of cage fighting, but his name was not famous at the time. Thus, did he secured a spot in SCW after being scouted out by Mark and Christain and signed with the company. Since then, he's encountered a lot of enemies in his time in SCW, both old and new, fought them tooth and nail. Sometimes he would secure the greatest wins, other times, whether it be controversy or of his own making, he would lose. Then he quietly retired from SCW and moved on from his life, but he was invited back to a Blast Of The Past tournament and did his best. Now the 400th show is upon Kain and he was more relaxed and focused than he could be at the task at hand. He knew the stakes in this matter and, despite being a one-time appearance, was ready to get the ball rolling on this fight.

He was living in his new home in Honolulu, Hawaii, away from the rough streets of Chicago, IL, his former home. He dwells alone in his new home, a new mansion that he created from the ground-up. It took a couple of years for it to be built, but it was a work of art.   A large, white building with many rooms packed inside, plenty of bathrooms and guest rooms should people want to crash over. Kain isn't one to party, but he loves to throws a bash for the many celebrities and their friends and family that he invites and it's always a good time, especially when it's in Hawaii. But this is during his free time, when it is allowed, of course.

To this day, despite being away from SCW, he still makes multiple appearances for many places. He is sponsored by many organizations and he does his best to represent them. He's also gone on to make multiple wishes being granted for kids that look up to him and want to see him. His merchandize, ranging from books to clothes to videogames, is also being sold at a rapid place, making Kain a billionaire. Even if he wanted to fight for money and at a contract these days, he still would be OK. Life would go on without him in SCW and he would still be remembered as the fearless fighter that he knew himself to be since the very beginning.

So, what made him come back to this special occasion?

It was a question that he confronted, in his own him, when Christain approached him at his home in Hawaii earlier this week. Christain expressed his desire to see Kain back in action for the 400th Climax Control show. He explained that the fans still remember him and want to see Kain kick ass one more time. Kain smiled and nodded at his former boss, thinking about the destruction he unleashed during his time there, the chaos that he enjoyed in the ring and outside of it. Kain shook Chris's hand and told him that he looked forward to participating in a special event that would be once in a lifetime. But then again, Kain was also once-in-a-lifetime, a man with many special abilities that no one has forgotten about.

Now, sitting in his living room, watching a live package on SCW's channel, showcasing the talent of all the superstars, past and present, as they relieve their greatest victories and the darkest hours of their careers, including his own. It was the early morning on Friday, July 19th, 2024. Dressed in his own bathrobe, he awoke first. The rest of his family, which included his wife Lisa and his three kids, were asleep. His wife stayed faithfully by his side, because Kain is a good man and he took care of Lisa and her needs and she, in returned, granted him a family that he is proud of. Two daughters and one son. He couldn't be prouder of the fact that he's working hard to fulfill the dreams that he made for himself, for Lisa, and more importantly, for his kids. They all have bright futures in their lives and it's his greatest hope that they continue to fulfill their own hopes and dreams that they had for themselves.

As soon as the package ended, he went into the kitchen and opened up the refrigerator door, taking out a large bottle of water and closing the door. Suddenly, his phone began to vibrate on the kitchen table. He reached out for his phone, grabbed it, and picked it up. He answered the call and held the phone to his right ear.

Alex. Yeah, this is him.

Kain listens to the other speaker and nods a few times before speaking.

Yeah, I get it. This weekend is going to be very busy for me and I have engagements to keep for the sake of SCW, promoting the brand and all. Yeah, it's something I know how to do. Easily. I wouldn't be here, at this point in my life, if it wasn't for SCW. It's my turn to repay the favor and help out Christain and Mark in any way I can. They have faith in me. I won't disappoint them.

Kain nodded a few times, spoke a few times more, promised the speaker that they would catch up sometime next week, then released the call and placed the phone back on the kitchen. The TV continued to be playing in the background, now replaying an older show from a year before. Kain glanced at the TV briefly again before stepping out of the living room, opening up the patio door, stepping outside, and shut it behind him. What greeted his eyes was the waves that were gently crashing at the end of the beach shores. It was still early in the morning, darkness still illuminating the skies above. Little sounds could be heard other than crickets chirping in the distance, but it won't last long. Typically, in Hawaii, the sun will be shining and it will be a beautiful day. This day will be a time of relaxation, but not for long. He has a busy schedule ahead of him, but he has to address his opponent, this Travis character.

He sits down at one of the few tables that are reserved for the guests and takes off the cap. Taking a few dips of his cold drink, he sets his drink down, sighs deeply, and begins to talk.

400. How many years has it been since Climax Control aired? Twelve years now, I think. Where has the time gone for me? I mean, granted, I showed up one-time, lost, and then vanished into thin air. But it's not like I lost track of time with my former association. I still think about SCW and what I accomplished in the ring. Grand-Slam champion, SCW Hall Of Fame, and so much more. I'm glad to be back, appearing in a special show, all for the sake of entertaining the fans with my unique abilities. And now, I get to face who I consider to be a special man, this Travis Levitt character.

The legend still looks away from the camera and can't help but chuckle lightly

I'm sure that he did his research about me and found out that I'm not someone to be underestimated. And in turn, I've returned the favor, also did my deep dive on him. He's done very well for himself, even becoming a Roulette champion in his own right, a belt that I once held in my career over at SCW. He's going to be a formidable opponent to have a good contest with and it seems like he has the same idea - giving out a good show for the fans and doing his best. But the truth is, I want to do more than that. I want to make sure that I am an excellent reminder of why I am the legend that I was born to be all those years and that I'm a name that's still to be feared all across SCW and the world. Sure, I lost my last match, it wasn't my best performance, but that's on me. I still got paid a great deal for that appearance and even if I were to lose again, which I honestly doubt will happen, I'll still be fine all across the board. Financially, emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually, all is one with the world and my life will continue the same as it has. But for this one-in-a-lifetime appearance, I'm willing to put out all the stops and show Travis while I am a beast inside that ring and a man not to be messed with.

Kain now turns to face the camera for the first time, his voice taking on a serious tone, his face in a mask of iron concentration, to let Travis know that he means business.

Now, please let me make things clear for you. I'm on the same page as you are. I have no ill will, no grudge, no bloody history to share with you and honestly, I am VERY excited to take on someone that I consider to be one of the very best in the business. Like you, I want to put on a good show and prove to the fans why we are some of the best wrestlers to ever grace God's green earth. But make no mistake about it, I am not taking you lightly. You seem to be the type of that can take punishment and receive it in spades, that's good to know, because pain, destruction, and chaos is something that I am renowned for and I don't intend to put on kid's gloves and make it easy for you. You are going to have to earn every inch and every step in his fight, because you're going to work hard for it. And I want to see Travis Levitt as his VERY BEST. Why should I expect any less from a legend like yourself? I don't. In return, you're about to find out why Kain is a name that to be remembered for all-time. You saw it for yourself, I presume. My best highlights, the brutality I unleashed, and what I had to do to win at all costs, the losses I've suffered, the victories I've achieved. I did the same for you, friend. I watched it all and I came away impressed.

But the question is...

Are you able to step up to the plate and answer the call? Will you be able to show your Dragonites why Travis Levitt is the best in their eyes? I look forward to discovering those answers as we lock horns. We are going to do everything we can to destroy each other while putting on the best show possible. SCW is going to enjoy the festivities ahead and who knows? Honestly, like you, is this even scratches an itch for me, I might make it a priority again. But for now, I see myself embarking on this one-time journey to California, entering the Kia Forum, and looking forward to seeing you across the ring. Keep in mind, all I will see you as is my enemy and it will be my job to put in a beating that you won't be forgetting for a long time. Because let's face it, Travis, you've never faced anyone like me in your career and I will back up that fact when we clash at the 400th Climax Control. A show that will be remembered in the years to come. So, to reiterate, I harbor no grudge or ill will towards you, but I'm here to showcase my skills and talents to the world and you just happened to be booked into a match with me. I am fine with this, I have no problem with you at all. Let's put on a good show, but at the same time, I will do everything in my power to crush you and stand out on top. It's what Kain does best, Travis. In the end, it's all we can do, right? Our best.

Suddenly, he hears his wife's voice coming from upstairs, since the windows to their bedroom are open. Breathing in the open air and releasing it, he looks away from the camera, takes his water bottle with him, then makes his way to the patio door, opening it. Just as he about to step inside, he glances over his left shoulder and looks at the camera one more time.

For I am Kain, the king of kings. And I....HAVE SPOKEN!

Then he turns away from the camera, steps inside his home, closes the patio door, and disappears further into the mansion as the scene fades to black.
