Title: Angels, Demons, And Witches! Oh My!
Post by: CombTheAshes on April 27, 2018, 11:06:22 PM
 Las Vegas, Primm Arena Backstage.

Kira leans against the brick wall of the locker room taking it all in. She rolls her forehead against the coolness back and forth, then slams her fist straight into the concrete.
“Fucking midget!!! Damn Jon Doughboy! Definitely fuck that kangaroo jack bitch too!! Ugh!!!!”
She slides kneeling against the wall both palms against it.

A familiar voice hisses to Kira, “I warned you….I tried to tell you what was coming but you didn't listen.”
“Shut the hell up already…” She responds to the one voice in her head. “I sure as fuck didn't feel your presence when it was needed most, where were you huh?”, her body rolls to her back as she sits down on the cool floor one leg stretched out in front of the other.

“I was where you told me to go, back into the black obscurity in your mind...i did like you asked and now look at the cost priestess.” The disembodied voices with slight concern. “Ah, screw you…” Kira holds her head in her hands, fingers clutching her hair from the roots rubbing her skull.

“I tried to help! I really did try…” a second voice chimes in the conversation. The dark haired beauty grimaces a smile in response and snorts a chuckle at the entity. A sigh escapes her lips as her hands release her dome. Kira stares up at the lights and ceiling above. “I know you did little one, I know.” as her hands drop to her lap fingers intertwined. “It's time for a different route to claim my place amongst the stars, however…”

“Your blocking us out of a piece of your soul Kira, what is it you are planning to do with this round against Seraphina?” The first voice again takes control for a moment.

“What makes you think I'm just gonna let you, in THAT room? Hahahahahah!”
The Phoenix laughs out loud at the question, holding her stomach as she regains her composure.
She speaks once more, “I guess you will just have to wait with the rest, now be gone for now. I will summon you all when good and ready.”

Kira stands back up against the wall before pushing away and walking down the corridor. The EXIT sign is lit in neon green showing the way outside. While pushing the door open she stops momentarily smiling wickedly at the sign. Her hand reaches upwards and her fingers snap echoing back down the hallway. As the darkness outside swallows her the sign starts flickering oddly. It begins to spark and smoke, the vibrant green changing to a hot blue. The plastic shell starts melting in the middle, as flames erupt from the toxic fumes.

“Brrrriiiinnggg!!!Brrrriiiinngg!!!”
A fire alarm resounds throughout the building, sending wrestlers from dressing rooms out into the corridor in curiosity and annoyance. The sprinkler system kicks in as the wailing siren continues. Now soaked and furious. The hallway becomes a chaotic full on blaming match between the men and women alike. Suddenly one voice can be heard laughing sadistically as they all go quiet to listen. The water  finally relents and the alarm goes mute.

They all stare at the open door, the laughter continues. The sign hangs smoldering, hardening in a melted swiss cheese like state. Drenched they look at one another then back down towards the door. Smoke wafts out into the night framing the edges eerily in fog.

                    BOOM!!!!!
The door slams shut violently, causing a few of the athletes to jump. Some of the bombshells and staff to yelp in shock over the noise.
Kira's voice can be heard sweetly whispering for all to hear. “From the Ashes I... ….Shall... Rise.”

Northern Nevada Medical Center. Recovery ward.

An old cowboy sits in a row of chairs alone, his hat resting over his knee. A bouquet of flowers across his lap. He is leaned back with his head resting on the wall. The weathered face shows years of hard work and a hard life. A new nurse on duty walks past looking at the man, holding three clipboards in her arms. She stops and takes a few backward and speaks to him.

“Sir?...Are you family here with someone? I don't want to bother you but your neck has got to be killing you in that position. I can get you a warm blanket or some coffee?” Her name tag reads Claire.

The old man looks up at the girl and smiles at her. “I know you are busy and I don't want to be a burden ma'am,” He replies. “I wouldn't mind a cup of coffee if that's not too much trouble.” Claire smiles sweetly, “I don't mind at all sir, i'll be right back. How do you like it?” She asks as she walks around a corner to a rolling cart stationed at the end.

“I'll take it plain Jane hun, I'm not picky,” the old cowboy replies. She walks back over with two steaming styrofoam cups. Handing it to him she sits down next to the old guy, placing the charts on her lap. Her free hand rubs her eyes from sleep deprivation and stressful hours, the other her cup of joe.

They sit together in silence for a brief moment enjoying the drink. “Forgive my manners miss Claire, my name is Rick Morterson. I am waiting on my dear Maria to get out of surgery, didn't know where I needed to wait to see her...So I seen it was quiet down this hall, figured no better place for an old fart like me to get out of the way.”

Claire smiles as she takes a sip out of her cup. “Well hello Rick, very nice to meet you. I don't blame you for coming to this area. I come here when I can to sit for a moment between shifts, whew, my feet are murder tonight. I'm sorry, my problems are nothing to whine about compared to what you've probably been through sir.” She looks at the polished floor under her keds embarrassed.

“You are just fine miss. I understand what your going through. You see, my wife was a nurse too. Retired out just a few years ago, she misses helping the people I can tell at times. Wore the same shoes you are, her feet would ache and swell. So don't feel like your burdening me hun, I don't mind. It keeps my mind from wandering so much especially now.” Rick chuckles at the girl, which makes her relax. “Your a hard worker I can tell that, I watched you handling those twins with the flu in that E.R.. Do you have any youngins?” He asks the nurse.

Her elbows are on her knees, cup held with both as she takes another drink. She shakes her head up and down. “Yep sure do. Wanna see a picture? Oh, if you don't mind of course. I don't want to seem like one of those kind of parents to you.”

“It's alright miss, we don't have any grandkids so it's nice to see happy babies.” She looks at the nice man and flips through her phone through her photos. “Ah, Here we go! The little one is my son Alex, He is 2. And the tall one is Bethany, she is 9 going on 13 in attitude.” She sighs.

He leans over and looks at the picture grinning. “Those are some fine children ma'am. Your little boy reminds me of my brother a little. Same cowlick in the front hehehe, cute kids. Your daughter looks like you miss, very pretty. There ain't nothing wrong about being proud of your babies. Here..I'll show you mine and Maria's bunch.”

He reaches into his back pocket retrieving his wallet. “I haven't gotten use to those fancy phone operations like yours. Their all grown up and off in their own adventures. We see them time to time but not so much these days.” Claire looks at the old photos wore from years of being folded like an accordion. The show the love of being pulled out many times out of different wallets too.

“You have a nice family too Rick, but I have to go and check on my other patients. Sore feet or no gotta keep them comfortable while they are here. I hope you get to see your wife soon and everything went okay with her operation.” The young nurse squeezes his hand as she stands to leave.

Rick stands and tips his head goodbye. Claire leaves and disappears around the corner. He sits back down looking into the cup, swirling the liquid. Lost in his thoughts, the cup seems to almost hypnotize him. A look of calm understanding across his mustached face.

“Mr. Morterson?” A older doctor asks a little panicked as he approaches the chairs where Rick is seated. “Yes..is something wrong? Is Marie okay?” He asks the doc holding his hat in his hands now. “Just come with me to the x ray room please.” The doctor instructs Rick motioning him to keep up.

The man is rambling to himself, muttering through wheezing from being slightly overweight. “I have never seen anything like this in all my years of medicine...how could it? There's got to be something...nah..i don't believe In horse shit like that!..but..how? Right in here.” They reach the door and step into the viewing room.

“Okay Mr. Mortenson. My name is Dr.Williams” He begins to explain to Rick. “I am one of the top expert Neurosurgeons in charge of your wife's case. In all my years in this practice I have never once believed in miracles or magic of any kind. I was the kid looking for the strings so to speak, that where this situation has got even me questioning reality and what is possible.” He holds his hand to his chin holding the elbow of his arm.

“Doc...I may not be a man of many words, but what is going on with my wife? You didn't bring me in here for small talk or coffee, so what the Sam hell is it?” Ricks blood is beginning to heat up, his old veins starting to pump with adrenaline. “Now you can either tell me, show me, or whatever you care to explain is going on...or..I can go back and wait for my wife's operation to be done and see her where I was.” His eyes sternly look at the surgeon, daring him to keep dragging the torture on of the unknown plight of his ailing wife.

Dr. Williams holds up both his hands in front of him, showing no problem and picks up four x rays from his desk. “Ok here is the first slide of your wife's tumor, notice the tendrils stretching out like spiderwebs?” He traces his fingers along the image. “Yes I can see them doc,” Rick puts his bifocals on his nose to look even closer. “Now here is the second and third slides, see how it had grown?”

The Dr looks at the cowboys face for reaction, not getting anything but a puzzled expression instead. “This is the last x ray..notice anything missing? What you see looks like a feather right? That's just scar tissue! It's like your wife already had the operation, we have checked her blood cell count for traces of the cancer and it's gone! Not a trace! Have you been somewhere else and had this done?, because sir I am in no joking manner right now.”
The surgeon says in all seriousness to Rick, who is just as shocked as the Dr. “We haven't been anywhere else or to no other Drs except you here! Then that means I can see her?! My Maria is going to be okay!?” He grabs the Dr by the shoulder shaking him from sheer elation. Then starts shaking his hand up and down fiercely.

“let me take you to her, follow me.” The surgeon smiles at the old man's sudden energy and leads the way to the recovery wing of the hospital. Rick close on his heels. They take an elevator down a couple of floors to the level they need to go. When the doors open, a familiar face greets Rick.

“Hello, old timer. Maria was starting to get upset if you didn't come down soon to be with her in this place.” Kira Phoenix smiles at the cowboy sweetly, leaning into his ear she whispers to him. “She says the food sucks and she is ready to come home and fix supper that she can eat hahaha.”
Her eyes assure him that it all worked out like she promised. The Dr speaks up for a moment. “As of today your wife is ready to go home in full remission. We will have her discharge paperwork ready here in a couple hours. Then you all can go home and live out the rest of your retirement happy and healthy.” Kira looks at him and narrows her odd eyes speaking low. “Isn't there something else Dr.Williams that you seem to have forgotten to mention?”
She waits for his response, Rick watches the tension between the two rise. Her eyes never move or blink, the old surgeon begins to sweat profoundly before stammering to them. “There is no cost for any of the hospital expense, your wife is truly a miracle!” He abruptly departs from the pair.

They watch him leave as fast as he can back into the elevator, pushing a button frantically as to escape Kira’s gaze. She turns her attention to her old friend and puts her arm through his. “Let's go see that beautiful woman of yours old man, I know she has missed you a lot.”
He looks down at Kira and smiles a tear welled up in his eye. ”Thank you Miss K.” The head down the long hallway to where his long time love awaits him.

They reach a door numbered 238B
Morterson.M. on the chart holder slide on the door. He stops for a min his hand pulls back from the handle and let's it go to his side for a moment. Rick looks at Kira, and asks her one last thing before reuniting with his sweet desert rose. ”Is this or you really here, Am I dreaming?”She turns to the old cowpoke and takes both his worn hands in hers. “Open that door, and find out yourself. Now I must leave you both, you have fun catching up. I will be coming home here after this next show. Oh, here...you almost forgot these in that lobby. Blessed be my friends, I will see you all soon. Give her a hug and kiss for me, and that I will bring the stuff home for her famous chicken and dumplings too.” Kira squeezes his hands and let's go nudging him to open the door. “Go on now..”Rick breathes in deeply and places his old weathered hand on the knob and turns it with a click. The sunlight from the other side of the door envelopes him in a heavenly beam, warm and inviting. A older woman's voice greets him with a love like no other. “It's about time you got here handsome,...now get me out of this place.” He smiles ear to ear and chuckles at his Maria. “Oh darlin, we are going home, we are going home.” He enters the room and the door closes back shut. Kira turns and heads back down the hallway. A smile across her face with another job well done.

She reaches the elevators to go to the main lobby and exit this place of medicine. Her hand hits the down button the pulleys and cables humming in response. The stainless steel doors slide apart and she enters casually. She hits another button and the doors close back. As the elevator descends a comical smirk crosses her face as she looks at the control panel full of buttons. She traces her finger along the list under each one until it stops on one, Morgue.

“Perfect, just perfect.” A familiar voice hisses between her lips. The elevator continues downwards past the floor needed to leave, headed towards the morgue below. Finally the apparatus stops and the doors reopen allowing it's passenger out. Kira looks around and starts walking down another hallway. Looking at each door reading the labels of what they contain. She stops in front of one that reads simply ‘Autopsy 1’. She pushes the door open and goes inside.

The Phoenix glances around, a wall of cooler doors covers one side of the room to the left. She walks right at the lockers, all but a few have a chart on each one. “This one.” Her hand grabs the handle and pulls it open. The cold air fogs into the room, she grabs ahold of the slab and yanks it out the roller screech a little as it extends. The corpse has a toe tag on hanging at the feet, she grabs it and looks at the name written upon it briefly.

She walks alongside the dead body where it lays cold and stiff. She pulls back the plastic covering the face of the corpse. A young woman lays still, her life cut short by some unfortunate event or circumstance. Kira leans in studying the deceased lady, slowly she speaks to herself.

“Reminds me of little miss Seraphina, doesn't she?” Her question doesn't go unanswered for long. “Yes, she does look about the same as your opponent...A sad outlook isn't it for her as well.” The second voice purrs maliciously.

“Oh, indeed my confidant...indeed.” She studies the face intensely as she speaks again. “Little miss Red Witch hasn't seen nothing yet. Her little angel clan can't save her all the time now can they?” Her fingers grab ahold of the dead girls eyelashes and pulls a few out with a pinch. “Pop” snap the eyelids from the tweezing. Kira places the lashes in a vile and puts it in her hand bag. She grabs another vile and a pair of pliers next out of the purse. She picks up the girls foot and places the tip around the edge of the biggest toenail.

Gritting her teeth she speaks to the entity in her mind. “Grrrr! Serendipity do da won't know what to do with her little old self, once she steps in the ring with me. I'm going to enjoy tearing her shields down,..one..by..one!” Twisting the needle nose pliers, the nail rips out of the toe. Blood drips very slowly from the new wound, then stops. She tears the rest of the nails off the poor creatures foot. “These, will be very handy…” Kira soothingly pets the girls hair, brushing the bangs to the side.

She then places her stolen goods into another cork bottle. “A state of eternal rest,....The most peaceful of sleep.” A third voice chimes in softly like a small child. Phoenix nods yes quietly, acknowledging the third voices statement. “They always look so complacent, no worries, no cares or pain. A shell, hollow like the roots that will take them back to mother earth. Feeding the trees and animals the fruit of the damned.” She stares at the girl and begins talking to her as if she was in front of her opponent for the match Seraphina.

“I know what everyone whispers about me...I know what the tales have told Red. The thing is...the tales don't lie. I am the one you don't want to visit, because I will learn all your secrets...all your angels trumpets sounding! The crows cawing to devour your eyes and heart from your chest are my friends! I must feed them, my familiars thirst must be sated somehow in this vast desert….why not with thine enemy's blood. No better divine liquid, than what makes us all the same?” Kira begins to laugh hysterically flinging her head backwards, her nails digging into the cold steel slab as she swings her neck around like a rock star in a metal concert.

She let's go and dances around the autopsy tables in the room. Frolicking and giggling like a school girl, tossing her black and blue locks back and forth. She jumps up onto the table, kicking her legs out like an old can can dancer. Her layered skirts layers swirling through the air, her laced black boots not missing a step. Kira jumps back down then leans back against the cold cooler doors, slowly sliding down with her arms above her head like a ballerina.

Once she sits on her butt on the floor the third voice excitedly giggles breathlessly. “Wow...That was so much fun! Like that guy! In that one movie!!..you know where he is in the warehouse...and..and..the town won't allow him to dance!....oh what was that movie called?...Think!!” She taps her skull with her knuckles, trying to remember until the second demon speaks up scolding the third voice like a small child.

“ENOUGH!!! Do you ever once stop and think of what you're stupidity got us all the last time?! As many eons I have been tied to you this has to be the worst yet! You don't ever quit! Like a broken record that goes on, and on, aaaannnnd oooooonnnnn!!!!! Like this stinking desert!!! How many times must I te…”

The demon suddenly gets cut off mid stride,Kira yells at the top of her lungs at the voice berating the other. “FUCK YOU!!!!BACK OFF OF HER NOOOOWWW!!!! I HAVE HAD MY FILL OF YOU! YOUR THE FAILURE,NOT HER! BE GONE! TILL I SUMMON THEE! BE GONE!!!”

The fluorescent lights in the room flicker and dim for a split second before coming back to normality. A cold blast of air exits the room flipping magazines pages in its wake. The lights in the hall dim and flicker as some invisible thing blows past in a fury, shadows casting on the walls as it passes. Kira looks away from the hallway and back to the deceased girl in front of her.

Her face is calm, her green and brown eye solemnly study the woman's features. Remarkably this woman could have been some family of her opponent. Gently she pulls the plastic back across the face like a funeral shroud. As she pushes the slab back into the oversized fridge, soft toned voice speaks motheringly to her. “You will be alright sweet Phoenix...shhhh...now children shhhh…” The voice calms the tense air. “Kira got really mad...i.i.it was scary...she sent big sis home…” The childish voice timidly whispers to the other.

“Mother Crone...I am sorry...for losing my temper...she can be the most unreasonable person on this planet!!..she makes me so pissed!!..I can't do anything with her.” Kira speaks to the deity invisible to all but herself. “Shhhh now Kira...Shhh..You can't be fighting amongst yourselves children. To rise from death you must welcome him with open arms, give yourself to the darkness and be bathed in light anew and free from the bonds in all lives. You will ascend levels you never imagined or dreamed!!!...but...You must FIGHT for that dream and break the backs of those who will try to keep that dream from you!” Mother Crone regains her composure and continues. “Your path isn't like the Wizard of OZ dear girl, I am aware you and your tag partner have met a munchkin lander they call “Shorty”, this however is a different kind of fairy tale. This is one that you are in control of my pretty!!!” The voice mimics the wicked witch from the movie laughing dramatically.

“Angels! Demons! And Witches! OH MY! Angels! Demons! And Witches! Hehehehehee!!!” The childlike one squeals with delight, enjoying the idea of the movie with glee. Suddenly the room goes quiet and Kira shuts the door to the girls temporary tomb.

Just as she turns away from the cooler, a african american nurse comes around the corner and nearly faints. The two stare at one another for a moment, the nurses hand is over her heart from fright. “Why are you in this area? This area is off limits for patients or family members unless checked in.” She nervously asks the wrestler, watching her intensely.

“Oh, I'm sorry I just got lost and turned around. I kept going till I got here..where are the elevators around here?” Her acting skills are spot on with the act of confusion across her face. The nurse finally relaxes and laughs a little saying to Kira, “I get mixed up in these hallways all the time, and I've been here for fifteen years! Follow me sugar. I'll get you to the lobby baby doll.” She is a really friendly older woman mabey in her fifties. Her hair pulled back with a headband matching the colorful scrub top she is wearing.

They reach the elevators and head back up to the main floor lobby. “Here we are hun, I believe you know how to go on from here hahaha! I joke wit ya sugar, you have a nice afternoon. I'm headed to my lunch break!” The nurse waves goodbye and heads off in the direction of the cafeteria.

Kira smiles in the open lobby, the many huge windows allowing the warm sun to envelope all visitors and patients is tranquil. Even with all the sanitizer and Lysol being used, it felt welcoming briefly. She reaches into her clutch of horrors and retrieves a pair of sunglasses.

She slides them over her nose as she walks out the doors of the hospital. An Uber driver has K.P. on a sign, standing in front of a black Lexus gets her attention. He opens her door and she gets into the car. The driver then returns to his side and pulls out into the street. He has already been paid for the ride and knows where to take the bombshell. She didn't want to talk anymore, Kira had enough talking for one day.

She leans her head against the glass staring at all the tall buildings through her shades. They tower above them surrounded by palm trees and water fountains the boulevards. They are pretty, but not like her trees back home. The ride isn't long to get to the club, as they pull up she looks at the driver for a moment.

He is wearing sunglasses as well, but not ordinary ones. A pair of Elvis shades, gilded in a gold frame. Kira smirks and makes an offer to the guy. “Say...I have a dear friend of mine who would love to have that pair of glasses your wearing. I'll make you one hell of a deal slick. I'll give you these Ray bans and two tickets to SCW Climax Control for em? Whaddya say? Deal?” Kira bats her long black lashes at the poor dude who doesn't hesitate for one second. He scrambles to hand them over to her, she hands him her glasses and the tickets and climbs out of the car. She turns around to the driver and gives a wink as she slides the king shades over her nose. She strides into the Edge nightclub, her long legs never missing a beat. Through the entrance she vanishes, ready to fight win, lose or draw, the Phoenix wasn't about to stop now.

The billboard lit in neon above flashes across the screen in blue flames her name on lights. Kira Phoenix vs Lucy Seraphina SCW Climax Control #203! The Megatron continues to flash the rest of the card matches. The scene fades to an old film reel and burns away to white. Words in blue flames appear,  “From the ashes, I... Shall...Rise”
