Book 1: Blood in the Night
Chapter 1: Book
Moscow, Russia had snow coming down for it being April. Lucy was in the Serphina’s safe house right now with a book in her hand. Melanie and Sam had found this in Helena’s home, which Helena, their Mother passed it off to Lucy. Lucy, being someone always up for a mystery, would undertake this task.
Lucy: Now a possible cult! We have enough on our plate with Alexander and the whole timeline thing!
Lucy put the book on the table and walked to the kitchen. Her phone vibrated and she checked it. It read “Message from Dmitri” and Lucy placed her phone back in her pocket. She’d reply to him after she finished this job. Lucy grabbed a mug and filled it with tea.
Lucy: Or maybe we’re wrong and this might be a good thing.
Lucy slipped in a blood tablet and felt the warmth from the mug. She walked over to the sofa and sat down, setting the mug next to the book.
Lucy: So what’s with this book?
Lucy carefully cracked it opened.
Lucy: I swear by the Gods that this book shall we be protected; those who seek to cause Ragnarok with this book shall be cursed by the power of Hel herself. This, a knight of Thor, take this oath as not only as a heathen but protector and, follower of Thor. This book has the writings of the Volva, she who has been blessed by Freyja herself and, I, her protector who has been blessed by Thor himself.
Lucy took a sip of her drink and looked at the book weirdly. She then grabbed a knife and cut her palm on with it. Blood dripped down onto the page of the book and it lit up. Lucy blinked in shocked and dropped the knife.
Lucy: What the hell!?
The book then made the beam of light smaller and a figure showed herself. The figure had long blond hair, silver colour eyes and pale as snow skin.
“If you’re watching this, then my spell worked. There are ten copies of this book and please listen to me! My name is Aslaug Helsdotter and I have a group called “Hel’s decedents”, we’re a group of people that worship the Norse Goddess Hel. Please do not let the books get into the wrong hands. These have magick that can bring back the dead.”
Lucy gasped and felt herself tremble in shock.
“I just hope everything goes right though. I don’t regret my actions, following my Mother’s footsteps. The new priestess of Hel will be a decedent of mine with powers of the darkness. It will be a male this time but he should be one of light.”
Lucy slammed the book shut and quickly got her phone out. She hit dial.
Sam: Hello?
Lucy: Sam, we need to talk! It’s about the book, where are you?!
Sam: I’m in Denmark, picking up Mel.
Lucy: Stay at her office!
Lucy hang up and rushed outside; the cold blasted her hard and she got to her Harley. Lucy focused on the Angel corp office and grabbed her Harley’s handles tight. With a huge gust of wind, Lucy teleported herself and the bike to the area. Lucy saw Mel and Sam exit out of the place.
Sam: Lucy?
Mel: What are you doing here?
Lucy: I have news about the book.
Mel and Sam smiled.
Lucy: Sam, I think the book is linked to you.
Sam: How so?
Lucy sighed and touched his forehead, replaying everything.
Sam: Hel?
Lucy nodded.
Lucy: We need to find the ten books before Alexander does.
Mel: Yes, we do. Lucy, you can stay at our place.
Lucy smiled and nodded.[/color]
Lucy: Thanks you two, let’s get going.
Sam got Mel to their car and Lucy started up her bike.
Lucy: Blast from the Past, I’m back and this time I’m winning it all. Last time I was in it, I came second place. I won’t take second this year and well this year it’s interesting. I’m teaming up with Dmitri against Casey Williams and Song. I know a lot of you are thinking “You’re teaming with Dmitri, a full-blooded vampire while, you’re a Magi-Blood mutant.” Yeah, I know you guys can come up with some cheesy jokes with that one. But, Dmitri and I have a lot in common and, it’s interesting to say the least.
Lucy followed the married couple closely, hell if you asked her, Lucy could do this route blind-folded.
Lucy: I’m happy though to have SCW back too. I enjoyed it here, best competition since ECCWF/PWU trust me. But anyways, I know people have been throwing out there accomplishments here but, I’m not. Everyone has known what I have done here, so why bring it up over and over again?
Lucy heard herself chuckle a bit.
Lucy: So, Dmitri, that guy is something else isn’t he? The guy is a vampire and he’s from Russia like I am. I guess you can say this team is a match made in the supernatural. I do respect the guy though, he’s misunderstood like I am. Even so, you have to admit in the ring, he is fantastic. The guy has impressed everyone and you don’t want to mess with him. I know he won’t have any reservations about sucking someone’s corpse dry of it’s life force.
Lucy slowed her bike down and looked around, that feeling of being watched came over her. Lucy shivered but had to continue, she was slacking and Mel and Sam were up a head by a lot.
Lucy: But…I know Dmitri isn’t a savage like Hollywood or the books like to portray vampires. Does that mean you shouldn’t fear him? Well, I guess it’s up that’s up to the person. But I don’t fear Dmitri and he knows this, the man isn’t stupid like people wish he were. I know for a fact that our opponents won’t take us lightly nor think that we’re below them.
Lucy paused and felt her phone vibrate again.
Lucy: Song, Casey, I just want to say, thank you for the competition you two are going to give us. Also, for your words of respect, I also feel the same for you both. Casey, you’re a guy that is a veteran here at SCW. If anything, I’d listen to what you have to say closely. Now, the phrase, “Colour me impressed” is something that sticks with your name for sure. I’ve watched you here and I am impressed.
Lucy hit a bump and nearly went flying.
Lucy: If I had the choice, I’d fight you. I mean I have fought both men and women before, but you know that we both respect the rules that Mark and Chris have put in place, even if they’re stupid at times. But really what are you gonna do about it right? Casey, show us you haven’t loss an ounce of your fight. I’m expecting the best for you.
Before she knew it, Lucy and the couple made it to the castle, Lucy cut off the engine and both Mel and Sam exited out of the car.
Lucy: Ah, Song, it’s been a while hasn’t it? I remember the many of battles we’ve had here and at LAW. I do miss you in the ring though. You were always the interesting one of the Elders. I’m happy to be facing you once more and I know you’ll bring your best. You always had an interesting fighting style but so do I. So, I want to see what all can you do in this match.
Lucy walked up to them slowly.
Lucy: I want to see how much you’ve grown and, if you can keep up with me. Yeah, I know that’s a Mel saying but still! Song, please rise to the challenge and show me that you have. I’d hate to be wrong for once. Good luck you two!
