Title: “New beginnings!”

 Violent Conduct IV saw several new arrivals and one departure in the form of Steve Ramone but one such arrival was a young man by the name of Caleb Storms, this young metalhead had first made his name known in PWU based in his home city of New York winning the International Championship before family issues forced him to leave but now, one year later Caleb is back on the wrestling scene ready to make his SCW debut as SCW heads to the land down under for its last tour of 2017.

And who was Caleb’s first opponent in SCW? The controversial Andre Aquarius, another newcomer who had competed at Violent Conduct against Holly Wood in a losing effort and was now looking to bounce back from the loss at Caleb’s expense, this was also Caleb’s first-time wrestling abroad but can the young man make a big impact on his debut with a win over Andre?

Man, it’s been a while since I did one of these, huh?

Yeah, encase you missed Violent Conduct I made my SCW debut in a segment that ran late in the show, guess it’s a good thing that I wasn’t scheduled to compete that night because otherwise my SCW run would’ve been short lived but I digress, that was two weeks ago and I also found out that I would be making my SCW debut in a foreign country thanks to the announcement of the Down Under Tour starting in Christchurch, New Zealand this Sunday at Climax Control and ending in Melbourne, Australia at High Stakes VII.

Granted the most I know about Australia comes from MasterChef Australia but you gotta start somewhere, right?

Speaking off starting things, this week I’m officially kicking off my SCW career with my SCW debut match against a guy who was on the receiving end of a loss at Violent Conduct IV Andre Aquarius who has apparently made a stir already in SCW, I wouldn’t know because I’m still in the middle of binge watching old episodes of Climax Control and old Supercards just so I know what’s going on (up to the end of that Team Erick angle that ran in 2013 if you’re wondering) but if he gives me a fight I’ll appreciate the competition.

Because let’s face it, life’s no fun if there’s no competition!

I’ll go into more detail about this later but for now let’s set the scene, me and my girlfriend Katie are on the Christchurch Gondola traveling up to the restaurant up top and admiring the views, it’s a bit chilly out and whilst the fog this morning was cool the fact that most of our tops are band t-shirts has not helped us keep warm but we can at least look forward to some awesome food when we do get to the top.

“Ever get the feeling we chose the wrong day to go out?” Katie complained as she tried to keep herself warm but to no avail. “I know the weather report said that the weather was going to be cold all week but still.”

“Just be glad that it’s not as cold as New York can get around this time of year.” I responded as I shook my head and Katie couldn’t help but agree there. “At least the views are nice.”

“No argument there.” Katie nodded in agreement as we admired the views from inside the gondola, there were a few other people in the Gondola as well, mostly locals as sitting behind us was an older couple, early fifties at least, and across from us sat a group of people around our age, two girls and two girls, and based on their interactions they seemed to be couples as well. “But that’s enough about you.”

“Katie, that was cheesier than Power Metal lyrics!” I responded with a double facepalm and Katie laughed in response. “And that’s my line!”

“So, you’re admitting that you get most of your romantic lines from romantic comedies?” Katie joked with a grin and I shook my head, if there was one thing I hated more than pop music its Romantic Comedies whilst my girlfriend, for some good forsaken reason, loves them. “Come on, you’ve seen enough of them with me to know a few of them.”

“And by seen you mean “fallen asleep halfway through and wishing I was watching something better”.” I responded and Katie just grinned in response as I checked the time on my phone. “They said that these rides take about twenty minutes, right?” I asked and Katie nodded. “We should be near the top then.” I added and Katie checked the time on her phone.

“Yeah, looks like it.” Katie responded and as if on cue the gondola stopped indicating that we had reached the top and the others started to get out. “Talk about perfect timing.”

“Yeah, let’s just hope that the restaurant has a table available.” I responded as I stood up and helped Katie out of her seat, once we got off the gondola we felt the chill in the air as we were high up in the air. “Yep, definitely should’ve brought a coat.”

“When we get back to town we are definitely buying some coats.” Katie nodded in agreement as we made our way towards the restaurant. “As cool as your battle vest is, it’s not ideal for this weather.”

“Yeah, I noticed, let’s hope that the restaurant has some heating.” I responded as we neared the restaurant and then I noticed one of the younger group approaching us. “Didn’t think I’d be getting autograph requests this early in my SCW career.” I whispered to Katie who looked up.

“Yeah, especially since your one of the new guys debuting on Sunday.” Katie nodded in response as the guy approached us.

“Hey, you guys alright?” The guy asked and I nodded. “We noticed that you looked a little chilly.”

“Blame the weather for that.” I responded with a grin. “We’re all right, just underestimated how cold the weather was going to be, haven’t been to this part of the world before.”

“Yeah, we thought you sounded American.” The guy responded before he started to remove his coat. “I could give you my coat if that would help.”

“Heh, I appreciate it man but we’re from New York, we’re used to cold weather.” I assured him and the guy nodded before putting the coat back on. “I’m Caleb, this is my girlfriend Katie.”

“Caleb? As in Caleb Storms?” The guy asked and I nodded before realizing that I had just met a fan for the first time in my SCW career and I haven’t even made my SCW debut yet, fun times. “I thought I recognized you, we’re going to the Climax Control show on Sunday and we noticed that your set to make your SCW debut that night against Andre Aquarius.” The guy added as he motioned towards his group who were currently talking amongst themselves.

“Yeah, I thought I would end up against a fellow newcomer but I didn’t think I would face someone who has some matches under their belt already.” I responded before getting an idea. “If you guys want my autograph I’ll be happy to give you it.”

“Sure, just give me a second.” The guy responded before reaching into his pocket and producing a pad and paper. “Make it out to Chloe, Trent, Lisa and Matt, the last one’s me.” Matt added and I signed their autographs in reverse order since Matt was closest to me, once that was done Matt returned to his group and we made our way inside the restaurant.

“Well, at least we can keep warm in here.” Katie said with a relieved sigh as we could tell that the heating was on, it didn’t take long for a waitress to take us to our table and we sat down opposite each other. “So, what’s the plan? Eat dinner, go outside to do the promo and then head back down?”

“I think so, been a while since I’ve done a promo but I’m sure I’ll manage.” I responded before picking up the menu and looking at it whilst Katie did the same thing, “I think I’ll have the Dunsadel Deluxe Burger.”

“You come all this way and you order a burger for your first meal here?” Katie teased me and I laughed before shrugging my shoulders. “Suit yourself, I think I might have the Arkarona Salmon.”

“Who am I to say no to a good burger?” I responded with a grin and after a few minutes the waitress returned to take our orders which we gave her plus some drinks. “So, what’s the plan once we get off the gondola on the return trip? Go to the nearest clothing store we can find, get some jackets and then head back to the hotel?”

“Yeah, that sounds about right, besides this place is about an hour’s drive from the hotel so we’ll probably be back there pretty late.” Katie responded after doing some math in her head to be sure and I nodded in response, the meal was good and we were stuffed by the end of it but I did have a promo to do. “Okay, I may have ragged on you a bit for ordering a burger but that did look like a nice burger, that said we should definitely try some kiwi food before the New Zealand leg of the tour ends.”

“Well I’ll be sure to look up Kiwi Restaurants on TripAdvisor when we get back to the hotel.” I responded before reaching into my pocket and getting the wallet out as I saw the waitress come to pick up the plates. “Can we get the bill please?”

“Sure.” The waitress responded before taking our plates and returning a few minutes later with the bill which came to $48.50, we split the bill between us and once the waitress took it I stood up.

“I’m off to do my promo, see you outside.” I said after briefly kissing Katie and she nodded in response before I left the restaurant, after picking a good spot I got started on my promo.

“Ladies and gentlemen, for those who missed Violent Conduct IV for whatever reason my name is Caleb Storms but for those who didn’t miss Violent Conduct, well I’m glad that you decided to tune in to my first promo on SCW TV! This Sunday on Climax Control I’m making my SCW debut against Andre Aquarius, a man who’s looking to bounce back from his loss at Violent Conduct IV but unfortunately for him there’s a storm in his path!”

God, that was so cheesy.

"For me this is more than just a wrestling match, this is about new beginnings because i left my old life behind in New York to start fresh here in SCW and as much as I love my home city I'm not looking forward to my return trip there for personal reasons but what I am looking forward too is a chance to prove myself in my first match as an SCW Suiperstar against you Andre but just becaise I'm young doesn't mean I'm to be underestimated!"

Far from it.

“So, Andre, you’re probably asking yourself “what can I expect from this young punk who looks like a male version of Jessie Salco?”, well what you can expect is a good fight from me! I never backed down during my brief time in PWU last year and this year in SCW won’t be any different, I don’t know if I’ll win my first title in SCW as quickly as I won my first title in PWU but what I do know is that I won’t ever resort to cheating to win my matches unless I find myself in a No DQ Match or if I compete in a Roulette Rules Match where the wheel stopped on a violent stipulation but aside from those examples, I’ve been raised to believe that cheaters never prosper.”

Insert joke about the current US President here.

“Andre, I know you came up short in your efforts at Violent Conduct IV and as I said before you want to bounce back from that loss to Holly Wood at my expense, well I’m sorry to say this to you Andre but you’ll come up short for the second match in a row because I’m not about to lose my debut match even if it’s in a country that I’ve never been too before the tour and who knows? Maybe I’ll be able to continue my winning ways all the way up to High Stakes VII?”

Yeah, I know.

“I realize that I’m getting ahead of myself here because before I can even think about my first Supercard as an active SCW wrestler I have to think about getting past my first match as an active SCW wrestler which means getting past you but if I wasn’t confident enough in my abilities as a wrestler to sign up for this company I wouldn’t be standing in front of this camera describing just how I’m going to kick your ass on Sunday and I’m confident that I’m going to do just that!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up as I saw Katie approaching me.

“We’re both young guns in SCW hoping to make it to the big time Andre but the fact that I’m one of the new kids on the block means that I’m just that much hungrier for success in that SCW ring and I’ll prove that this Sunday when I win my SCW debut match against you! There’s a storm brewing Andre and I hope your prepared because otherwise the Metal Storm Caleb Storms is about to blow you away!”

I walked off hand in hand with Katie as the scene fades.
