Don't wait for opportunities to be given, create them. Find a way in and make what you need. Well that has certainly been happening for us lately, first the casino, then Kenz massive win over Mikah, all in the space of a few days. That is what you call not sitting around with your thumb up your arse and actually going and making something happen for yourself. It's much more than most people around in SCW is prefer to do sod all and get something in return. Me make things happen and Kenz proved that even the underdog can make things happen. Me, Os and Charley were and still are well happy for her, over a week after the biggest win in her career, more than proud of her, but we didn't spend time dwelling on that, everything that happened was expected. Yes, Mikah did go on her usual I lost so I might leave Twitter thing as expected and I guess I didn't help by poking the bear a little there, but I almost saw a human side to her, almost admitting to her whole thing being a front and wanting to be accepted, but I didn't really overly have time to sit there and put on a nut doctors hat and have a chat with her to make her feel all happy. That day, we were incredibly busy people and that is the day we're going back to, to have a chat about.

If you're one of them people who like to watch every SCW promo, immerse yourself in what you do, then you would have seen Dani Weston's promo for last week, that also showed this day. You'd have seen Dani working her little arse off to help us get the casino off the ground, but you didn't see the stuff before that, and what lead to that stuff. This is gonna be one of those promos that link in and flashback all at the same time, pretty decent eh?

Anyway, lemme set the scene for ya a bit cause limited time and all that. Two Sunday's ago was an incredible success, shocks happened and we were buzzing, but the world don't stop turning and we made a quick exit back to Las Vegas, The Golden Ring Casino wasn't gonna sort itself out, so we had to go back and deal with that. Being a couple of hours away helped our speedy return. A lot of plans were already in place, but one big thing was needed, someone to actually take care of the place while we were out making other moves, that's what lead to a call back to England. Need someone you can trust in a business that will make you millions, right.

MONDAY 27th AUGUST 2018 - 1.20am

The home of London Underground in the mountain area of Las Vegas was always a peaceful place to be, especially in the early hours. Close enough to see the lights of a place tourists flock to constantly, yet far enough away to not hear the noise to come with it. Daniel, Osbourne, Charlotte and Mackenzie has made haste to get home, swinging by their newly acquired Casino for a short time before making the short trip home. While Osbourne took a few minutes on the balcony, a thick cigar in between his strong fingers, Daniel sat at a table inside, with Mackenzie sprawled across the sofa nearby, the magnitude of what happened a few hours ago almost non-existent as she relaxes. Charlotte walks over from the bar in the living room, handing a glass of whiskey to Daniel as he opens up a laptop.

"Cheers." Daniel says gratefully as he nods at Charlotte.

Charlotte takes a seat around the table, opposite Daniel and behind the laptop screen, unable to see what Daniel is doing.

"You lot can go to bed if ya want." He tells them. "Hard work starts in a few hours."

"I'm good." Mackenzie says, a peaceful tone to her voice. "I'm happy laying here soaking in the moment."

"Not bad for someone who didn't really wanna face her." Charlotte says looking towards her.

"Still." Mackenzie replies. "I beat Mikah, she'll probably quit in the morning, tonight has been a good night."

A wide smile crosses Mackenzie's face as she puts her hands behind her head and stretches back. Charlotte looks down at a notepad, picking up a pen and starts to write.

"Right." Daniel says with an exhale. "I better make that call back to David. Need someone out here to run the place while we're a little busy."

"Any idea who?" Charlotte asks.

"Oh, I got a good idea who." Daniel says looking across at her. "Down to if David will let him come over here and do it."

"Well, you're the boss." Mackenzie adds. "David just enjoys the power when you're not there."

David Morgan, brother of Daniel, was not the most popular amongst the group. His reckless and unthoughtful ways had a habit of rubbing people the wrong way.

"Maybe." Daniel starts. "But we need to keep on the same page. We're not moving all base of operations over here, need to balance it out."

Daniel clicks away on the laptop, opening up a program to communicate with lands far away. He clicks the Skype icon, opening up the programs.

"We get who I want over here." Daniel says with a smile. "He'll work his bollocks off and we can focus on the other stuff."

Daniel clicks away at the buttons to till a chat box appears on the screen. Daniel hits call and the familiar Skype call can be heard. After a few seconds, the face of Daniel younger brother, David appears on the screen.

"The bloody hell you want?" David says gruffly. "It's not even nine in the morning."

"And good morning to you too brother." Daniel replies. "Be bloody glad it's not six in the morning. Sounds like someone was on the sauce last night."

David looks at the screen, exhaling.

"Well some of us didn't have the option to put on tights and roll around a ring." The sarcastic David replies.

"That's cause some of us can do it and you can't." Mackenzie calls out from the sofa.

"I see you haven't had ya pitball neutered." David says.

"Might wanna be careful before she bites ya leg." Daniel tells David with a smile. "Ok, time to talk a little business my old son. Casino as you now is very much ours, next week, we ain't working so much for the other place, followed by a couple of weeks off there, so that will give us time to whip the place in to shape."

"What are you thinking there?" David asks.

"Alright, right now, it's just an arse end casino a little away from everything else." Daniel starts "So it's off the main stream areas, but the land is ours too, which means it can be expanded on a ton. We pull the people to us and we're on a turnover of about six mil a year. The whole place needs security big time, needs a bit of an overhaul decorating, but I'm thinking an extension, hotel, theatre, shops. Pull people off the strip to us."

"Sounds pretty fucking pricey." David comments.

"Five hundred grand going in to the refurb right now" Daniel tells him.

David looks shocked on the other end of the screen.

"Are you having a bubble son?" David says with shock. "Five hundred thousand smackers already."

"Yeah." Daniel says. "But it will pay for itself. Pull people in, let it be known wrestlers own the gaff, we're look at twenty k a day, one forty a week, five sixty a month. Take away sixty for costs and staff, we make that back in a month."

"And these shops and theatre?" David asks.

"Now that bread is a bit heavy." Daniel responds.

Daniel looks across at Charlotte who writes something down, before sliding it in front of Daniel. Daniel looks at it and back up at the screen.

"Three and a half mil heavy without the hotel." Daniel says seriously.

"Fucking hell." David says shocked. "With the hotel?"

Daniel looks across at Charlotte again, who writes another figure down and hands it across to Daniel. Daniel cracks his neck backwards in surprise.

"About eighteen mil." Daniel tells him.

"Well fuck me sideways and call me Susie." David says with disbelief in his tone.

Daniel puts a hand up, stopping him from talking more.

"It's all as we can afford it." Daniel tells him. "Five hundred in, make back in a month or two, profits reinvested, profits go up, by the time all that is said and done, we're looking at about fifty grand a day Casino wise, all the rest is a bonus. Say with the rest, hotel, shops, theatre, we could be looking at over hundred grand a day after costs."

David leans back in his chair, looking at the computer screen at Daniel.

"See I like the incoming numbers, not so much on the out going." David says.

"You worry too much." Daniel tells him. "There's one other thing I need to get from ya and I'll let ya go for elevenses or something."

"Right now the pie and mash shop when you piss off." David replies. "What is it?"

"I need someone over here to run things when I'm not about." Daniel tells him. "I can't be making moves elsewhere and still have to run this place at the same time. Need an assistant manager in place."

"What about the ape?" David says with a smug look.

Daniel knew he was talking about Osbourne, but smiled at his younger brother.

"I'm not sure Os is people friendly." Daniel tells him. "Os, Charley and Kenz are very much needed working with me on what I need done. Soon as this place starts taking off, the bigger families are gonna be looking at us, wondering what we're all about, and we need to make some very big moves to show them we ain't some fly by night group and to show them we ain't the push us around group."

"So who are you thinking?" David asks as he leans back in his chair.

"I'm thinking Nick." Daniel tells him. "He's got what I think we need to make it work."

David rubs the top of his head, looking down the camera at his older brother, an apprehensive look on his face.

"Couple of things." David starts. "One, Nicky is a top earner here, people respect him, he has his reputation here and people don't give him much grief. Two, he's run a few card tables, gambling things, but nothing on that scale. Three, do you really wanna put that tart around the people of Vegas?"

Daniel smiles at David, knowing full well what he meant but those words.

"I do wanna put him around the people, but I will make him keep his nose clean and work his nuts off." Daniel tells him. "He's not some whelk wet behind the ears, he knows this will be a big opportunity for him over here to make the extra bunce and better himself. We all knew out of everyone on that level, he's the most likely to step up. Yeah, he's an earner there but imagine what he would be over here. We got people ready to step up there to replace Nick. All they need to do is fill his size elevens and keep going what he started."

David continues to look apprehensive.

"I gotta trust your judgement on this even though I think you're off your trolley here." David tells him. "But when do you want him? Next week?"

"Today." Daniel tells him. "Next flight out. Get him on a flight and with the time difference, he'll arrive here not long after he left."

"Are you fucking kidding me?" David asks.

"No." Daniel responds. "Get him on a flight right away, tell him to sleep on the plane and let me know what time he's meant to be here and I'll send Os to meet him at the airport."

David sighs as he shakes his head at Daniel.

"I seriously hope you know what you're playing at here." David tells him. "Seriously hope you do, cause this is the biggest job you've ever asked of him. If he bends it over and fucks it in the wrong un, on your head be it son."

"Gotta give people a chance to shine." Daniel tells him "If not, they'll be stuck in a rut forever and let's be honest, if no one gave us a chance to step up, we'd still be chasing plonkers for a score."

David finally concedes, looking at Daniel through the computer.

"Like I said, on your head be it." David repeats. "I'll make the arrangements and drop you a flight number in a bit."

"Much appreciated." Daniel says with a smile. "I'll catch ya later."

Daniel clicks the button on the computer and looks around at Charlotte and Mackenzie as well as Osbourne just rejoining the group.

"Nick?" Mackenzie says with a tone of surprise in her voice "Really?"

"I don't see why not." Daniel replies. "The mans a worker, makes the cash, will put all the effort he can in to the place."

"I'm with Mackenzie on this." Charlotte adds. "He likes the good life a lot."

"As long as he makes the money to do it, I can't complain to be fair." Daniel says. "He seems to have the presence about him to make people sit up and take notice of him. That is what we need here when I'm not about, or when you lot are not around. That's alright, he will do what he is told, and is loyal as fuck. We need someone that won't be swayed out here and you know as well as I do, once people start looking like they're something, people start sniffing around. He won't be tempted by other offers."

Daniel picks up his glass and drains it.

"Now I dunno about you lot but I'm hitting the sack." Daniel tells the group. "Up at seven, Casino by about eight and Os, you're picking up Nicky at the airport when David sends through the details."

*******

Let's jump back slightly to the present as we join the four members of London Underground sitting around a poker table in The Golden Ring casino. Cards are dealt in front of them but no one is taking much notice as the camera focuses on Daniel and Osbourne.

"There's a little bit more to come from that Monday." Daniel tells them. "I mean I'm sure you wanna know who Nick is, right?"

Osbourne shakes his head but Daniel catches him out of the corner of his eye.

"Ok, you don't cause ya know him but I'm sure the people at home watching this, just might." Daniel tells them. "But today is September the forth. It's pretty early in the week, but we're pretty well known for having no fear and going early, so why should this week be any different. I mean we want to give people a fighting chance against us, I mean some people need that kinda advantage, don't they Kain?"

A smirk crosses Daniel's face.

"You need someone to go early or you have nothing to talk about." Daniel says firmly. "It's alright, we can't all have the bollocks to go early and get something out of it. You're a strange little cretin aren't you Kain? I think someone was telling porkies the other week about being a recording artist, because Charlotte over there, she's pretty much down with everything in life, including music and she can't find shit about you out there selling twenty million albums. In fact, no one can. I mean she's our research girl and no one in the music business has ever heard of you, let alone sold twenty mil. I mean if you had and you was legit hot shit, we might have hired you here to do a gig, but get the feeling that twenty mil was a little exaggerated from about six copies that you sold to family. Now I'm basing you on the fact that you seem a bit like a Billy bullshitter so you probably think you was a great Mixed Tag Team champion."

Daniel shakes his head slowly.

"Pull the other one pal, it's got bells on it." Daniel says firmly. "You win a title and all of a sudden don't bother showing up to do anything other than wrestle. For a champion, you were a let down. You took the reputation we had with those titles and you basically ruined it there and then by not even showing up with them. Mercedes carried your arse and you know it, without her you wouldn't have had those titles. I mean there's a couple of things in this business that kills respect for me, quiet champions and people who are too lazy to be creative, they have to take things people say and use it against them and let's be fair son, you're both of the above. That disappoints me."

Daniel looks towards Osbourne.

"You can't see it, but it disappoints him too." Daniel says. "You probably think you were the best to have the belts but you never was. So now you think you stand a chance at stepping up and taking them once more? You beat us, or did you really beat us? Did we want to win? The answer will surprise ya, because you think you did it on merit, but you keep thinking that buddy. This time around with two teams in there, you got a lot less chance of getting those belts back. I don't know what it is about you Kain but when we did our histories of SCW and the people who came before us, you come across as a fraud, you come across as one hell of an undeserving Billy bullshitter, that somehow shit housed his way to championship runs and a Hall of Fame spot. You could possibly be the weakest Hall of Fame guy in there, the least deserved of all his success and I'll be damned if myself or Os is gonna let you claim another accolade in SCW. You didn't deserve the ones you got, you sure as hell don't deserve the one's you could get. This is a bit of a motivator to me because you don't deserve them, I can stop you from getting them, I will do just that."

Daniel looks towards Osbourne.

"Don't rate him, don't respect him, don't care if he takes this and tries to use it against us." Daniel tells Osbourne. "If there was an award for least deserved success, he'd get it all day long."

Osbourne nods in agreement.

"It's hard to even talk about someone you can't even respect and it don't get much better that this point either to be honest with ya." Daniel says with a roll of his eyes. "You go from talking about someone who don't deserve their success to someone that wants success more than anything else in the world, but goes the wrong way about it, all the damn time."

Daniel sighs softly.

"Congratulations on getting what you really wanted Caleb, a championship to call your own, but you need to be realistic about something here." Daniel says with a slight smile. "Realistically, you need to look back at all the times you tried and failed on your own to get gold. You need to look back at all the times you got mugged off when it came to getting gold on your own and choose your words wisely when you say you're carrying Sam Marlowe. Fact is, you beat Kain, nothing to be proud of, nothing to write home about. Without Sam Marlowe in the ring with you sharing the burden, you wouldn't be a champion right now. That's a little food for thought when it comes to being respectful on who you share the ring with."

Daniel breathes deeply.

"If you want the truth and I am all truth." Daniel starts. "I don't feel you're good enough for single titles, I think deep down, you know that too. I think you know in your heart of hearts that you just can't keep up with the likes of Ben Jordan or Fenris so you should be very glad that you got the chance at any level to even be able to compete for a title. Sam Marlowe is a good partner for you, but please don't get too comfortable holding those titles. We had a little chat and you know what, to stop Kain holding them again, we're gonna bring them back to us and get back the prestige that has been ruined by you and by Kain. We need to bring them back home so the titles have some respect again because when it comes down to it Caleb, you don't respect that title, you just want it for the sake of holding a title, any title."

Daniel pauses for a second.

"To you, it doesn't matter what the title is, as long as you have some leather and gold." Daniel says seriously. "You don't care what it is, and that shows you have zero respect for the gold you have, you have no respect at all for it, but as long as you can show off a belt, you're happy as a pig in much. That shouldn't be the way it is, it should never be the way it is. You should be proud of what you got, but your constant begging for shots show that you don't care about representing a division, you just care about people wanting to call you champ. It's disgraceful to be fair."

Osbourne nods his head in agreement.

"You're all gimme, gimme, gimme, but at Violent Conduct V, we're gonna be take, take, take." Daniel says with a firm, confident nod. "Because you ain't got a penny's worth of respect for that belt, so we're gonna make ya travel bag a few pounds lighter and whip that from you and give the belts the respect and credit that they deserve Caleb."

Daniel rubs his chin.

"You can blow all the air out ya that you want about finally getting what's yours Caleb, but it should never have been yours and it won't be yours much longer." Daniel tells him confidently. "You're just holding that belt till we take them off ya, the same as Kain was doing, just a bookmark, a placemat, just something there till we felt we was ready to take them back. We had to focus on getting hold of a casino, so the belts were secondary to us and guess what? We got hold of that casino, we've got plans in place to be able to have a much bigger plate to fill up and now there's just that little extra room on it to add a couple of titles to it and we will do just that. It's been nice letting some other people have a go at them but when it comes down to it, we know we're the best team going, don't even matter what combination of us it is, we're confident that we could beat anyone at this point, so without a doubt in my mind, we will be beating you and walking away with the championships once more."

Daniel nods and smiles confidently.

"No bullshit, I only deal in facts." Daniel says with a warm smile.

He looks next to him to Charlotte and Mackenzie.

"You're up." He tells them.

The camera moves around to bring Charlotte and Mackenzie in to the main shot.

Mackenzie and Charlotte look at each other, Mackenzie puts her hand out to Charlotte, allowing her to speak first.

"You speak about one, I'll speak about the other." Mackenzie says to Charlotte.

"I'll take Sam then." Charlotte replies.

"Be my guest." Mackenzie says with her hand out.

Charlotte looks at the camera.

"It's been a couple of months since we had the chance to get at some gold. A couple of months since the division went from an ultimate high to the lowest it's been." Charlotte starts. "Now there's a little happy medium because one of the champions isn't a demanding plum, we have a champion with a little style and a lot of class in Sam Marlowe."

Charlotte stops talking to gather her thoughts for a second.

"Sam Marlowe, someone people sit there and say is the future of Sin City Wrestling." Charlotte says tapping her chin. "Someone people speak highly of, someone people would miss if she wasn't here, unlike a lot that I can talk about, and someone people well bat shit crazy for when she won the Mixed Tag Team Titles. The epitome of the underdog story wrapped up in a small package topped with ginger hair. People are instantly drawn to her, people want to be around her, people love the fact that she is a champion, but to be honest, we don't really care what people think because sometimes, you gotta let fate and destiny lend a hand and the facts are that her and Caleb are just not that much of a team together. Nothing to do with her, but it's broken, it's fractured and if those belts could talk, they'll be asking what the hell is going on. They've been asking that since they left our hands."

Charlotte puts her hand out in front of her.

"And people's respect and love for you Sam, is not gonna stop them from coming back to their happy place again." Charlotte says. "With all the love and respect you might deserve, those belts look very out of place on you, they look very awkward. All the cheers in the world ain't gonna help you out Sam. All those fans calling for you, urging you on, forcing you to do well, not gonna help you in the slightest, because when it comes down to it, they can't get in the ring and help you out. It's you in the ring against me or Kenz and let me tell ya, it won't be fun no matter which one we choose."

Charlotte glances across to Mackenzie.

"You really better hope it's me though cause she's on a bit of a run at the moment." Charlotte says with a smile. "But me or her, doesn't matter cause it doesn't change the result at the end of the day, doesn't stop what's gonna happen. Doesn't make any difference in the slightest. The fans may be on your side but I've spend a lifetime pissing people off and I'm more than happy to do the same in this match. Forget about your partner, he's not worth a damn thing and look at me. Do you truly believe that you can beat me Sam? If we were to go one on one, could you beat me?"

She pauses for a second.

"See, I don't think you can." She says seriously. "I don't think you could beat me one on one, I don't think you can beat me if you had an army behind ya with the greatest weapons on earth. This is already a forgone conclusion that those belts are coming back to the one place they belong, to the first ever champions. They're coming back to us, and all the puppy dogs, sunshine and rainbows in your life, all the people screaming your name. They're all going come very very disappointed Sam. I got nothing against you but you do have something that I want and well, like always, we're just gonna take it. Sorry sweetheart, it's gonna be a very short reign for ya."

Charlotte looks towards Mackenzie who nods back and looks in to the camera.

"You're pretty lucky Sam that she chose to speak about you and not me, cause you're not like the dumb blondes of the world, you know I would have torn ya a new one." She says. "Fucking unlucky for you then Mercedes, isn't it?"

Mackenzie flashes a smile at the camera.

"The most decorated woman in SCW history." Mackenzie starts. "Sounds about right and everyone knows it because you're constantly shoving it down people's throat. Fucking queen of self promotion over there. I know you was more than respectful to me last week, saying I deserved a medal for beating Mikah, but that was fuck all. Mikah ain't Mikah anymore. Mikah is a snivelling little bitch who runs to social media to cry for attention. She lives for the attention cause she probably wasn't hugged enough as a child. I live for kicking the shit outta people. There was always only gonna be one winner in that one."

A confident yet slightly cocky smirk crosses Mackenzie's face.

"Now you Mercedes, you're not unlike her in a way." Mackenzie says. "You don't overly live for the attention but you sure as fuck live to brag about everything you've ever done. You should learn a lesson from little miss eye roll. Talking about what you've done and all you've won don't get you anywhere at all cause someone like me comes along, who doesn't give a shit about any of that, and shows up for the fight. None of these flashy fucking moves where bouncing around the place seems like a fun idea, risking life and limb. None of these actually compare to someone about to show up and just rip people apart, none of these flashy moves and years of beating people mean a whole lot when someone shows up, just to stomp you in to the ground. Mikah was a big name, right? Mikah couldn't handle anything I could bring to that table at all. You're a big name, right?"

Mackenzie pauses for a few seconds.

"What makes you think you can do anything different?" Mackenzie asks. "What makes you so special that you can beat me? As far as I see it, you're bringing nothing different to me than she did. You're adding no more to the match than she did and everyone saw exactly what happened with her. I shocked the fucking world Mercedes by taking on and beating someone claiming to be the best, you're claiming the same with all those title runs and all those things you've done, but if facing her didn't bother me, facing you ain't gonna bother me either."

Mackenzie shakes her head.

"Not even for a second." She says with a smile.

She leans back slightly in her chair before continuing.

"I just might as well make a legends list and just tick things off." She continues. "Tick off so called legends one at a time, just do that. Mikah fell first, and now you will Mercedes and yes, I'm fully aware that Mikah will use this promo to moan on Twitter and get more attention, but she did get ticked off the list first Mercedes, at Violent Conduct V, you'll be added to that list if I'm the one opposite you in the ring. If I'm the one against you, you might as well admit you're fucked, step between those ropes and walk away straight away, save your reputation, don't worry about adding another title to your list for you to brag about. Just leave it, yeah?"

Mackenzie holds her hand up in the stop motion.

"You've got a shit partner anyway to be straight with ya." Mackenzie says with a slight smile across her lips. "But you already knew that, didn't ya?"

The smile grows wider as she continues.

"But don't worry cause after Violent Conduct V, you won't have to worry about teaming with him again, he'll probably pack up his balls and fuck off again until the next time a title chance is dangled in front of him." She says firmly. "It's his MO, but my MO is to get in that ring and give the ever living shit out of someone and you just happen to be next Mercedes. You just might as well admit it now."

A completely serious look crosses her face.

"You're fucked." She says through gritted teeth.

Mackenzie leans back and the camera focuses back on Daniel's face.

"Alright then." He says with a smile. "That covers the talk about the match bollocks part of the promo that we all need to do, so now lets get back to the feature presentation. Ya know, the interesting parts of these things instead of the I'm gonna kick your arse part of these things, the creative parts."

Daniel smiles down the camera.

"So let's get back to that." Daniel says. "We ended off on early hours of Monday morning having a kip, so let's jump forward to a little later in the afternoon now..."

*******

3pm

Back to the Golden Ring casino. Daniel stand from a much higher vantage point, with long glass windows across one wall, looking down on the casino floor, overseeing everything below him. People moved from one side of the room to the other, carrying decorating and security equipment around to various places. Daniel turns around to see Charlotte and Mackenzie sitting on a sofa nearby.

"Good call on moving the office up here." Charlotte says with an approving nod.

"Not sure why anyone would have an office in a dingy little back room shit hole to start with." Mackenzie adds.

The camera pulls away to see Daniel's new office, high above the casino floor, allowing him a view of everything going on below. A long desk sits across one side of the room, complete with bookshelves to another side, mostly empty at this point. A relaxing seating area is set to another side, with four sofas in a square around a table, where Charlotte and Mackenzie sit. On one of the walls, lots of screens are set up, currently blank, but presumably for security cameras. Daniel turns around to look at Charlotte and Mackenzie with pride.

"Much better than having it so far away from everything." Daniel says.

"The fuck a casino needed an observation deck for anyway?" Mackenzie asks.

"No idea." Charlotte adds. "But this makes for the perfect place to be."

Daniel nods his head in agreement as he stands up, turning his head back towards the casino floor, looking out of the window again at the people bringing it up to his standard. He knew it would take months and closing down at random times to bring it up to the way he would prefer it but slow and steady would put money in his pocket to improve it over time.

"This is perfect." Daniel admits. "People might question why we went outskirts, but trust me, we're gonna bring the strip to us."

The door opens to the room and Osbourne walks in the room, followed by a blonde man, his hair scruffy and facial hair slightly longer than stubble sat on his face. His piercing eyes looked towards Daniel as a smile began to form on his face.

"This is a long way to go for a little tat-a-tet." The man says in a rough, scratchy sounding English accent.

Daniel smiles as he moves towards the man, wrapping his arms around him, the man hugging back.

"Good to see ya Nicky." Daniel says warmly.

Nick George, often known as Nicky was a long term friend of Daniel's, working alongside his crew on many occasions before being set to his own tasks. A smart man that commands respect regardless of his methods. He had know London Underground for years and played a huge part in their rise in London.

The two men release the hug and Daniel smiles at him.

"Good flight?" Daniel asks.

"Woulda been a bit better if the stewardesses didn't look like they put their make up on with a trowel, but other than that, alright." Nick says to Daniel. "Coulda done with you sending someone less chatty than Os to pick me up though, won't stop chatting away, couldn't get a word in edgewise."

Nick turns to the two women standing up and walking towards him.

"Look at that." Nick says. "Laid on a bit of entertainment."

"I do a great trick with turning a man in to a woman, with one grab and twist." Mackenzie says as she approaches.

Mackenzie hugs the man and steps back.

"Think I'll pass darling." Nick says with a wink. "Haven't shaved me legs today."

"Same old Nick." Charlotte says with a smile as she hugs him.

"Same old Nick." He repeats "The man with the gift of the gab."

Charlotte releases him and Mackenzie shakes her head at him.

"Only thing the gift of the gab ever gave you was crabs." Mackenzie says with a nod.

Nick cranks his head back.

"Now that is hurtful Mackenzie Page!" Nick says with a fake hurtful tone. "Besides, that only happened twice and I got two really tiny combs out of it, so score for me!"

Daniel watches the playful banter between his group and smiles, it's been a long time since the five of them was in the same place. Daniel nods his head, indicating for Nick to come over and talk to him a little more private.

"Looks like Daddy's calling me in, but I'll come out to play later." He says in a soft tone.

"Oi, heard that." Daniel says loudly. "Daddy ain't gonna give ya any pocket money if ya keep pissing about."

Nick follows Daniel over to the window and a more serious tone comes from Nick.

"So picture this." Nick starts "There's me laying in bed when I get a call from David. I get told to pack a bag, pick up my passport and get on me way to the airport. I ask where I'm off to and they told me you wanted me here. One, what am I doing here? And two, what took you so long to bring me out here?"

Daniel waves his hand around the window, showing Nick the casino floor.

"Can answer both with ease." Daniel tells him. "It was about timing. I wanted you out here from the start but there's no way you was gonna be a wrestler, and there was no point sitting on your arse out here when you could have been back home and earning. I needed this to fall in to place first, I needed to get my hands on a casino before I can bring you here."

"Well I hope I haven't come all the way here to work behind a bar." Nick says. "Although having said that..."

Nick looks at the bar area to see Dani Weston and Lacey working away behind the bar.

"Who's the brown haired bird?" Nick asks.

Daniel looks down to see Dani working hard, earning her money and shakes his head at Nick.

"She's off limits son." Daniel tells him. "She is not for the likes of you. She ain't some slag you can pick up at the Dog and Duck at closing time."

Nick pokes his lip out, looking at Daniel with an approving nod.

"Oh, you got your eye on her." He says with a smirk. "It's a well you wanna tap."

Daniel shakes his head as he looks at Nick.

"It's not that." Daniel says calmly "She's a nice girl, not one to get involved in our work or life. She don't deserve to be hounded like we do. This is not the kinda life we drag nice people in, we don't put them in harms way."

"Sound sweet on her." Nick comments.

"Nah." Daniel replies. "I wouldn't get her involved in the shit we do. I will look after her though, but not in that sense."

A knock on the door can be heard and a man in overalls walks in the door, followed by two men pushing heavy looking things in boxes, the weight indicated by the struggle.

"Here to fit your safes." The man says looking across at Daniel.

"Ah nice one." Daniel says moving towards the group "You know where they go, you sorted it out earlier. We'll get out of your way."

Daniel looks around at everyone waiting for instruction.

"Charley, go check on the security camera guys, I want them installed and bouncing to these screens by the end of play today." Daniel says pointing to the wall of screens. "Kenz, you're on bar duty. I want you to kick the delivery guys up the arse, get the next stock behind the bar for Dani and Lacey to sort out. Also want it done by the end of day and Os, I want you to go check out the new security guys, until we can get our own people over here, this is the best we can do. If they're smaller than you, turf them."

The group nod towards Daniel.

"And you come with me Nick." Daniel tells him.

"Sir, yes sir!" Nick says, standing straight and saluting Daniel.

"Oh shut up you tart." Daniel says. "Anymore dicking around and ya be back on a plane going home."

Nick fires out a fake pouting look at Daniel as the group leave the room, splitting off in different directions. Daniel and Nick walk down a nearby flight of stairs, moving to the bottom and on the casino floor. Daniel points to the back of the casino and Nick follows him, knowing Daniel is looking for a quiet spot to talk. Moving through the row of card tables, Daniel spots an open table near the end of the casino with two chairs and points to it. He sits one side, while Nick sits on the other side.

"So I know you didn't get me all the way over here cause you missed my wit." Nick says.

"You're right, I didn't cause I didn't miss ya wit at all." Daniel tells him with a smile. "I brought you over here because you've done well with what you had back home, a few no so legal card games, the money you brought in to the business. That money is at work right here. All this stuff around here don't come cheap. Without earners like you, this might not have been possible so it's time to open up the purse strings to you a little."

"You want me to run a high stakes game over here?" Nick asks, his tone turning very business like all of a sudden.

"I want you to run many of them." Daniel tells him. "I got big ideas for this place. A hotel on top with all you need in it, I wanna push that wall back over there."

Daniel says pointing to a wall at the far side.

"And put a restaurant, a row of shops and a theatre we can own fully." Daniel says. "Bringing the money in to us and making us not only very rich, but serious fucking players on this side of the pond. Now I can't make all these plans, meet with the right people, grease the right palms. I need someone to run this place and bring in the money while I do all of that. I want you to manage it."

Nick looks surprised at the offer, leaning back.

"Manage a whole casino?" Nick asks apprehensively.

"Yeah." Daniel starts. "You make sure everything is running right, that the stock is up and the money is flowing in. I'll get a bar manager and let them deal with that. You run the floor, making sure there's no hassle and the people keep spending money. That office we were just in will have a second desk in there, yours if you take up the offer."

"I can't believe this is happening." Nick says with surprise. "Are you fucking serious?"

Daniel nods and sighs as he looks at Nick.

"Heard that a lot today, but yeah, I'm fucking serious." Daniel responds. "You're a money man, always have been, I've been the idea man for years, I got the ideas, you use them to pull money out of pockets and put it in ours. All this is above board, so you'll be working legit for a change."

"I haven't worked legit since I was a barrow boy when I was thirteen." Nick responds with a smile.

"You're never to old to learn." Daniel says with a nod. "I ain't saying shady days are over cause money is money and there's some right dodgy bastards with it that don't need it and others do, but we can go a long way to moving legit with this one."

"Right little Robin Hood, you are." Nick says with a half smile. "You're a good man Daniel, except when you're breaking someone's face, then you're a horrible bastard."

"It's the way I like it mate." Daniel says with a grin. "Don't worry about the other stuff. When the stores, restaurant and theatre opens in time, I'll get people to run that, get an entertainments manager in, but this right here is where we need to make the cash to go down in to the other things. I trust you Nick, you're the man for the job. I wouldn't have brought you all the way over here if not. Had you in mind from day one for this job."

"Really?" Nick asks.

"Really." Daniel responds. "Always had the plan to bring you out here, just needed the time to be right and now it is."

Daniel looks at Nick, he can tell the man's world has been turned upside down with this one offer, but he knew Nick knew that the family comes first and this was one hell of a chance for a better life for himself. He knew he had no ties apart from the people he worked for back home, another reason why Daniel wanted him here.

"So what do you say Nick?" Daniel asks. "Wanna give up old London town, and the little rude boys with their strides down their arses for the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas?"

"I have a condition." Nick says as he looks at Daniel.

"What's that?" Daniel asks curiously, not used to people who worked below him to negotiate.

"One of those stores." Nick starts. "Proper pie and mash shop mate. I don't care if you need to get someone in front the East End to do it. Get one of those in and you got me."

A wide smile crosses Daniel's face as he puts out a hand and Nick shakes it.

"You got a deal mate." Daniel says as he shakes Nick's hand.

Both men lean back in their chairs, Daniel nodding happily at the outcome.

"I spy with my little eye a brown haired birdie flying towards us." Nick says in a hushed tone.

Daniel leans in to listen to Nick, but Dani Weston is upon them, clipboard in hand.

Now this right here is where Dani's promo began last week, so you already know where things went from here, so we're gonna leave it right here. Sam, Caleb, Kain and Mercedes, you really better bring everything you got, cause now all this is out of the way, me, Os, Charley and Kenz are one hundred percent focused on you. Have a wonderful day.

RP Title: “Three teams, one title!”

Caleb lost the match to Ben Jordan and Sam Marlowe ended up being the Special Guest Referee on top of all that, however now the unlikely tandem had a monumental task ahead of them in the form of their first defense as Caleb and Sam teamed up to take on Mercedes Vargas and Kain and London Underground at Violent Conduct V for the mixed tag team titles, Caleb and Sam have had success in the past and it was Caleb who secured the win for the team but can they retain in their first defense?

Going out jogging around Tierra Bonita Park, Lancaster, California
Saturday the 8th of August 2018, 07:00am

Do you have any idea who difficult it was to find an SCW cameracrew who was awake at this time of day?

Yeah, for a change me and Katie have decided to go on an early morning jog for our workout today and I figured, why not see is there was a cameracrew available and as luck would have it, there was, and they are accompanying us on this jog, granted they had to get dressed in a hurry but that didn’t delay us all that long anyway!

I talked about this match in the lead-up to the match with Ben Jordan at the last Climax Control but me and Sam’s first defense of the mixed tag team titles is against the former champions Mercedes Vargas and Kain and the first ever Mixed Tag Team Champions London Underground in a Triple Threat Mixed Tag Team Title Match and I’m hoping that my first defense of these titles goes a lot better than my first defense of the Roulette Title under similar circumstances two months ago at Into The Void but apart from the date, what’s changed since my match against Ben?

Sam Marlowe was the Special Guest Ref for the match.

Let me make one thing clear, I don’t blame Sam for the loss, she called the match down the middle and I still lost, and hopefully wo won’t let that affect our team dynamic going into this match, even if the guy who writes the previews still refers to us as a Lethal Lottery Pairing, I mean seriously, does the guy who writes the previews have the memory of a goldfish?

Would explain a lot, that’s for sure!
“Hope your not having trouble keeping up with me Caleb.” Katie teased me as she pulled out ahead off me, she may have been the shorter of the two of us but she was a member of the track team in school and therefore has a better running speed than me but not by much, really the only reason why she didn’t become a wrestler as well was the same reason she had to give up running, she fucked her knee up during training and it took her a year to recover, yeah, it was that bad. “At this rate I could head back to the hotel and you still hadn’t have caught up with me.”

“Yeah, until you encounter California traffic.” I responded as I stopped to catch my breath and Katie grinned in response. “I’m still not sure what’s worse, New York or California traffic.”

“I’m going to say New York because we grew up there.” Katie responded as she turned to me. “We could always ask Jessie for a second opinion since she’s lived in California since SCW went on hiatus at the beginning of the year.”

“Considering how much of a social pariah she is now, I think I’ll pass on asking Jessie anything, Jake on the other hand? I’ll probably ask him.” I pointed out and Katie went to respond before conceding that I was right. “Besides, I’m more concerned with Mercedes and Kain and London Underground and defending my title against them at Violent Conduct next weekend, pretty sure I don’t need to explain why.” I added, and Katie nodded in agreement.

“Nah, you don’t, especially after your first title reign ended after its first defense at Into the Void.” Katie responded, and I have her an annoyed glare as the memory of the ensuing saga throughout the Fatal Attractions tour was still fresh in my mind. “Yeah, I know, ir’s still sore spot for you but it doesn’t make it any less true, does it?”

“True, but right now I’m focused on moving forward and if Ty West can end Ben’s reign next weekend, you won’t hear me complain!” I responded with a nod and Katie frowned before we continued to jog through the park, after about an hour we decided to take a break as we reached a bench and sat down on it. “Wonder what SCW has in store for the rest of the year.”

“Well, hopefully it won’t be another hiatus, but if it is at least we’ll have Honor Wrestling to fall back on.” Katie responded, and I frowned thinking back to what the SCW landscape was like when I first made my debut for the company last year, funny how so much can change in a year, huh. “Still compared to what SCW was like last year it’s like night and day so we should be okay in that regard.” Katie added before checking the time on her phone. “We said that we’d aim to get back to the hotel before 10:00, right? Well, if my math’s correct, if we start heading back in the next twenty minutes or so we should get back there in plenty of time.”

“You say that, but I have a promo to do.” I responded as I motioned to the cameracrew and Katie nodded before standing up. “How about you jog on ahead and I’ll text you once I’m done?”

“Sounds good.” Katie nodded in agreement before she started jogging off, once she was out of site I got ready to do my promo.

“Off the people I expected to be names as Special Guest Referee for my match against Ben Jordan last week, Sam Marlowe was the last one I was expecting so good on the bosses for throwing me a curveball I guess! That said I must put my loss to Ben Jordan behind me as me and Sam get ready to defend the title next week against Mercedes Vargas and Kain, the former champions and London Underground, the first champions, in a Triple Threat Tag Team Mixed Tag Title Match!”

And I will as I start with the former champions!

“I’m starting with the former champions because, well, who else feels more appropriate to start off the promo with? Mercedes, Kain I ended your reign two weeks ago when I pinned Kain and how is this going to be any different? London Underground are in the match and that’s it! That extent of the differences here because frankly I don’t see how this match could end any differently! I ended your reign by pinning Kain and if this match ends the same way then so be it!”

Next up is London Underground!

“Next up is London Underground or as I like to call them, yesterday’s news! You were dominant for several months but the moment you lose the titles is also the moment people stopped caring about you London Underground and I’ll see too it that you won’t get to hold onto the titles for a long time as me and Sam prove that we aren’t flukes, we’re the real deal and what better way to show that than defeating not only the former champions but the first champions in the same match? I rest my case!”

It’s that simple.

“I don’t know what the bosses’ original plans for this match where, but I bet they went flying out the window after me and Sam won the Mixed Tag Titles! And next Sunday will be when we secure our place as the champions of the Mixed Tag Team Division by defeating two former champions and after that? Who knows? Mercedes and Kain challenge us on their own? Or will London Underground beat us to the punch? I guess we’ll have to wait and see!”

And with that I decided to wrap things up.

“One thing is for sure though and that’s this sentence: three teams, one title! And that title is coming home with Sam Marlowe and myself Caleb Storms! Mercedes and Kain might be the former champions and London Underground may have been the first but all that matters is the present and when I secure the win for the team it’ll send a strong message of what the present looks like but in the meantime Kain and Mercedes and London Underground had better brace themselves because there’s a storm brewing, otherwise they’ll be blown away by “The Metal Storm” Caleb Storms and Sam Marlowe!”

I sent Katie a text before running off to catch up with her as the scene fades.

Alex entered his dressing room with the rest of his band and started to settle down.

It's been two weeks of non-stop touring, but he couldn't get the loss out of his mind. He knew that he had to step up his game and take back what's rightfully his.

But the band was hyped about the show. Ten songs they played from the record and the crowd loved it!

As Alex and the band got themselves their own drinks and celebrated the show's success, their manager burst into the room.

"We did it guys! Another 500,000 copies of the album sold and it's still getting stronger."

"We are rich beyond our dreams!"

Alex couldn't help but smile at his bandmate's comment. He's beginning to taste the first drink of stardom and have already become a household name. These group of friends knew each other in their high school days and were good musicians in their own right. Alex knew them back in the day during his time in the underground fight club scene and saw them perform and became good friends with them. Who knew that they would hook up again after all this time?

"Well, it's a good thing I called you, Ben, because this wouldn't have happened without you guys."

Ben and his friends, Mike and James, nodded towards Alex.

"Damn right man. We are a team and we're celebrating all this together."

Alex nodded back.

"It feels good to try a new path while staying on my old one, you know?"

Ben stayed behind while Mike and James went off to hang out with their friends that were talking and laughing with them.

"Still thinking about the upcoming fight?"

Alex nodded.

"Yeah, it's nothing I can't handle. I'm just looking forward to bouncing back and taking the titles. Mercedes, my tag-team partner, and I are on track and we are going to win the titles against at Violent Conduct V. No worries though, I'm still going to be pulling double-duty, playing music on my off days and traveling around the world, helping us out make money and earn success while coming back, when needed, to either defend the titles or take on someone in singles-competition."

Ben smiled.

"Well, Alex, knowing you, you're one determined man. Nothing gets in the way of what you want. Those two tag-teams won't know what hit them when they encounter you again."

Alex nodded once more.

"No worries. I got this. Let's go out and celebrate for the night."

The cameras followed the boys as they walked out of their backstage room and they had security surround them and Alex could no longer be seen as the camera faded to black.

* * *

Is this going to be yet another repeat of history itself? Don't make me laugh.

Actually, after watching the most insane promos I've come across yet since my return, I can't help but laugh ridiculously hard. I don't know as to which clown I should start destroying first, but seeing how Caleb Storm decide to dance like a fool all night long and gloat about his win, it's time I start with his sorry ass.

Let me ask you something, Caleb.

Do you know how you won? It didn't just end up being a matter of skill. It was really a matter of luck.

Somehow, you got the best of me. You pinned me to the floor. That's a fact and I can't change that.

But what saddens me is how you all of a sudden THINK that it's all going to end up being the same for you. That SOMEHOW, you think that I'm going to just lie back down, you get this miraculous pin, and you retain the titles. I'm sorry, are you living in some kind of fantasy world now? Is this what's going to happen at Violent Conduct V? Please. You really are a man of simple delusions, floating so high on a drug that it's really hard for you to come down on. Caleb, you REALLY don't have a FUCKING clue on how things work around here. And I look forward to squashing your dreams in seconds and taking back MY Mixed-Match Tag-Team titles and believe me when I tell you, Mercedes is going to kick Sam's ass all over the arena and make her as I will make you regret the fact that you should have NEVER tried to fuck with us.

See, I'm pissed. I'm pissed off at the fact that I allowed this to happen. This time, I assure you, Caleb, things are going to be a lot more differently in the end. No more underestimating. No more games. I'm going straight for the fucking jugular and seeing as to how you decided to run your mouth and piss me off completely, ending your title reign will occur. Mark my words, Caleb, the day will come when Satan reveals himself from the depths of Hell and eat you alive and I'm going to be that guy, just this once. The biggest badass of them all coming back in full form and going to ENJOY ripping you to pieces, limb by limb. That championship reign will NOT be one for the ages, except for the part where you quickly lose the titles in a few weeks. It's going to be quite an embarrassing night for you, isn't it Caleb? Your storm may have gotten the best of me the first time, but on the second time? Nope. I'm going to use my bare fist to rip that storm out of the sky and crush it into dust.

Whether you like it or not, Caleb, you did this to yourselves. Picking up a victory against us is one thing, but taking the titles away from Mercedes and I? You've made an enemy out of us and you're not going to enjoy it. It was business at first, but now? It's personal. It's about revenge. It's taking back what you stole from us, Caleb. Sam Marlowe isn't going to be one pleasant girl by the time Mercedes gets through with her. She's going to be the one ANGRY at you for being such a deluded, idiotic douchebag and running your mouth like a bully on a playground thinking he's all big and bad just because he got something great for once in his life and then LOST IT seconds later. Hell, son, you push me, well I'm going to push you right back, HARDER. I'm going to PUNCH and KICK you HARDER than you've ever felt before and every other move that inflicts suffering will be worse than it was before. You got nowhere to run, Caleb, nowhere to hide.

I suggest you bring those titles to Violent Conduct V and shine them up really nice for Mercedes and I.

We are Grand Slam Champions for a reason and at the PPV, she and I are going to shine even brighter than before. I know that she's going to bring her A game and so will I. Tell Sam to say her prayers before coming to the ring, because it won't save either of you from earning the biggest defeat of your careers, respectively!

London Underground again. Round 2.

OK, Daniel, you decided to run your mouth a bit. Here's my response.

Once more, you deal in bullshit. Not facts. Let's begin.

First off, I don't care for what your bitch, Charlotte, has done in her life, nor do I care to. So I'm going to wholly ignore that statement, because you really are a man that's out of your element.

Second, have you ever heard of the term "surprise?"

I mean, this was a project of mine that has been kept under the dark for a LONG TIME. This was something that I never talked about to anybody,. The album dropped on a surprise note from my social media account and it went straight to the top. It was unexpected. It was amazing. That's the thing, jackass, you'd like to think that I'm not a success. You'd like to think that I have no success in this life. Truth is, I've been VERY successful on my own without anyone's help, YOURS INCLUDED, thank you very fucking much! And as for that gig of yours? Fuck, dude, you wouldn't have enough money in the world for me to play at your gig and I wouldn't even want to. I have no desire to associate myself with a bunch of dipshits that somehow think that I'm some kind of cretin and that I'm strange. It's nice, all these petty insults that you want to throw my way. Good for you, Daniel, whatever gets your ego loud enough for anyone to hear.

But no one is listening. No one is willing to nod your way and accept the "facts" as they were.

And let me tell you something else. I'd like to think that my music career has been pissing you off BIG TIME. So let's get to the REAL truth, shall we? You don't like me. You never have, never will. So when you see me rake in success with my album "Kings", which, by the way, hit #1 in nearly 35 countries around the world , that success reminded you of the one thing that happened; your failure. Your failure in retaining the titles. How glorious is it, Daniel, to discover that the fraud you thought I was somehow destroyed you and took it all away from you. That's why you hate me. That's why you are jealous of me, Daniel. You and your pathetic group are all envious of the fact that I came back, out of nowhere, blind-sided you with the truth, hit you hard, left you in the dust with the titles above our heads while you laid there like two dogs that just couldn't handle the fight anymore.

Trust me when I tell you, Daniel, you are sincerely underestimating me. Hell, son, I'd like to think that, by the way you responded to Caleb, you pretty much talked more about me than you did about him. Put those stupid thoughts of that man aside; he's going to be the weakest link of the group, as are you. Yes, you, the man who supposedly deals with the facts. You really are a con artist, a liar, and a fraud of your own creation. How sad, Daniel. Is this how you want to see London Underground be when it's all said and done? A bunch of fools that think they own a couple of places and think they run the town like nobody else's business? Son, you got a lot to learn and I'll be more than happy to put you in your place. Forgot the psychological warfare you're trying to instill in me, the fact is, YOU GOT BEAT. Plain and simple and I know that simple fact is going to ruffle your feathers and get under your skin, pal.

Face it, boys. I've shattered your confidence. I've destroyed your chances. I've made a mockery out of you. When you step into the ring with me, Daniel, you're going to be confronted with some hard truths. Words won't be enough, that's fine, I'll let you discover them with my fists, the fists that created MY legacy inside that ring. I don't care about your respect. I don't care if you don't like me. I don't care about ANYTHING you guys represent, say, or do. What I say or do matters. Just because I've been on tour, selling out at EVERY venue and earning my money, my success, that doesn't mean that I've forgotten about you. I knew that I would inevitably clash with London Underground. Mercedes will handle the women with no problem and both of us are going to slaughter your clan and Caleb's one-hit-wonder team and walk away with the Mixed-Tag Team championships at Violent Conduct V.

London Underground is going to suffer horribly at the pay-per-view and I look forward to ending your chances yet again and maybe end your careers. Perhaps after I've annihilated you, maybe you should be looking into a different path in life? Because this kind of work certainly doesn't fit you, scumbag!

For I am Kain.....THE KING OF KINGS!!!!!!!!

And I.....HAVE SPOKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sam Marlowe has always been about giving her all in the ring and this time, at Violent Conduct Five, she is going to have to give more than one hundred percent in that ring to retain the mixed tag titles that she currently holds with her partner Caleb Storms.

Although after last week and the fact that she had to referee a match where her partner Caleb lost to the man that Sam considered her best friend, Ben Jordan, she didn’t know where she stood with her partner. So rather to talk to him, she was confronted by Christian Underwood who in his own way added to her doubts with his perverse enjoyment of making her the referee…

Well let’s see what happened next…

Christian Underwood: Good night Samantha.

Christian walks away chuckling leaving Sam in the hallway. With a soft snort of frustration, Sam moves towards the locker room area and begins to stuff her bag full and then tossing it over her shoulder, she moves towards the back entrance of the arena at a rather fast walk hoping that she wouldn’t run into Ben or Caleb.

Sam’s luck holds until she makes it to the garage where she can see her friend Pussy Willow standing almost as if she is waiting for Sam at her rental car. Sighing with defeat, Sam slows as she points with the key fob of the rental like a gun and presses the button making the lights flash on the car as well as causing Pussy to squeak in surprise before looking around for Sam and spying her walking forward toward the car.

Pussy Willow: Sam my god I saw that match and I can’t believe that you had referee between your partner Caleb and your friend Ben. I wouldn’t be you for all the tea in China. What do you think your partner will be thinking right now considering that you just raised someone else’s hand in victory?

Sam shakes her head as she fumbles with the key fob in hopes of avoiding the question but Pussy being the fine investigative reporter that she was only stood there, a raised eyebrow and half smile the only indications that she was going to get to the bottom of the story. Sam moves around her towards the trunk of the car and pops the hood to throw her bag into the trunk and then shuts it again hoping that Pussy might have taken the hint.

No such luck.

Pussy Willow: Listen Sammi, I know you are probably thinking that Caleb is really going to be pissed at you and well maybe he might be but he has to know that Christian made you do it. We all saw how you looked when he forced you on the ramp and down to the ring. But I do have to ask, do you know why he did that?

Sam Marlowe: He said something about ticking him…

Pussy Willow: Tickling? I didn’t think that Christian would consider something funny like that. Are you sure?

Sam Marlowe: Yeah, I am sure. He made sure to tell me that just about ten minutes ago. Now all I want to do is head to the airport and home. I ain’t feelin’ all that good right now Pussy. I wish I could stay and all but…

Sam makes a gagging motion which has Pussy backing away in surprise. Sam smiles apologetically as she reaches for the door and opens it to let out a blast of warm air. Ignoring it, she closes the door behind her shutting out Pussy who only can tap on the window to get Sam’s attention.

Pussy Willow: I am going to get back to work but with the supercard coming up and the fact that you have a title defense there against two really good teams, I am going to let you head home. I’ll call you later in the week k?

Sam nods meekly as she pushes in the accelerator and then presses the ignition that brings the engine to life. Pulling out of the garage, Sam merges into traffic as she turns the car in the direction of the local airport. With the light traffic, she arrives within twenty minutes and heads to the enterprise counter to turn over the key fob and motion in the direction of the car sitting in front of the office. With that task done she moves toward the counter where a weary blonde is sitting, her ascot askew as she looks down at a clipboard with boarding passes tucked under the clip. Sam approaches and offers her a half smile as she pulls her bag forward.

Sam Marlowe: I am wantin’ to see if there might be a flight tonight to Vegas. I have a ticket here for tomorrow morning but I just got this call and I need to get back tonight…

The stewardess begins to peck away at the keyboard in front of a monitor. Each time the key is tapped, Sam’s fingers provide an answering tap on the counter as she looks towards the seats near the gates.

Stewardess: There is a flight in another twenty minutes but to upgrade you, we will require an additional fee.

Sam Marlowe: Sure, anything to get home.

Sam pulls her wallet from a pocket in the bag then opens it and pulls out a credit card that the Stewardess runs through the debit machine before the squeal of a printer can be heard under the desk. Reaching down, the stewardess smile tiredly as she hands the boarding pass to Sam who takes it and turns away to head to the seats by the gates.

Sam sets her bag on the floor in front of her as she sits on a rather hard plastic chair and curls her feet up under herself. Pulling her cell phone out, she opens twitter types a few tweets then shuts down again before she hears the call for her flight. Gettng to her feet, she moves towards the gate called and into the skyway before walking up to the entrance of a small plane. The male steward offers her a smile as he welcomes her to the plane. Moving into the very small interior, Sam notes there is very few people on the flight. Checking her boarding pass, she approaches the seat she has been assigned. Sliding towards the window, she flops in the seat and slouches down to stare out the window after putting on her seatbelt.

Lady:: Hello miss, mind holding this for me?

Sam turns to see an elderly lady holding out a rather vintage crocheted purse. Without thinking, Sam reaches up and grabs it from the lady who then turns to pick up a carry on and lifts it over her head to stow it away before sliding into the seat beside Sam and taking the purse from her.

Lady:: Thank you sweetie, I am so glad that someone is here to help. I find that manners have been declining lately. I men all those people who think they are better than one. I tell you, manners are a lost art. Speaking of…my name is Janie what’s yours?

Sam offers a smile and straightens to hold out her hand for a handshake.

Sam Marlowe: I’m Sam, but most people call me…

Janie: Sammi…My Sam was the same. Pity though he passed…

Both women hang their head slightly, it is a southern thing, before Janie continues.

Janie: And actually, I recognized you after you said your name was Sam. Only redhead Sam I know is Sam Marlowe. ‘magine me getting to meet one of my favorite wrestlers on this rinky dink plane. So tell me, is that Ben Jordan as nice as he acts and is he really married to that Evie lady?

Sam Marlowe: Y’all see the real Ben in that ring andout of it and he is a gentleman, and a sweetheart. And yes, he is married happily to Evie.

The sound of a voice over the loudspeaker has both ladies preparing for takeoff. Sam takes her usual position with hands clutched in her lap, the fingers tangling as she fights off nerves while Janie begins to paw through her purse and pulls out a stick of gum that she opens and then draws out the gum to slide it into her lipsticked mouth and begins to chew it. The sound of the planes rotors coming up to speed has Sam clutching harder at her hands as Janie braces against the seat, her chewing getting louder in sync with the whine of the engines. Suddenly the plane is in the air and Sam can let her fingers go. Janie continues to brace with the arms and Sam turns to see her with her eyes closed and her mouth moving in prayer.

Sam Marlowe: Hey Janie…s’ok? Y’all look like you are speakin’ to the man upstairs and all but ain’t nothing gonna happen to you. It’s only a hop step jump to vegas and then you can sit back and relax til we get there.

Janie opens one eye to look at Sam in desperation as a nervous laugh breaks the silence.

Janie: I don’t know about you but this is my first flight since I had to be in Vegas by 9 am and it is too long to drive. I usually drive you know, less likely to crash and all.

Sam Marlowe: Actually, flyin’ is really safe. I do it all the time as you could guess. Besides, the stewardess will be comin’ along with a snack or drink.

Janie lets her other eye open slowly then smiles at Sam. The redhead smiles back before turning once more to the window watching the lights fade as the darkness of the desert changes the night view into a black velvet with only aa few bright sparkles few and far between into the distance.

The steward comes along and Sam can hear him ask Janie if she would like anything to drink. The woman orders a glass of wine as the steward puts a small container of nuts on her tray table. As he pours the wine, he asks Sam what she would like to drink. Sam turns her head to shake it at the offer of a cold drink but instead requests a tea as the steward adds the container of nuts on her tray table. He opens a small carafe of hot water and fills a coffee cup with it before laying a tea bag and spoon on a napkin he had flicked onto the tray. Sam thanks him and begins to steep her tea as Janie begins to speak again.

Janie: I have to ask Sam, I can call you Sam right? I mean we are flying buddies and all.

Sam Marlowe: Sure y’all can call me Sam. And whaat do you want to know?

Janie takes a sip of her wine then turns in the seat(as much as the seatbelt will allow) and gives Sam a narrow eyed look.

Janie: What do you think your chances are in the match at Violent Conduct? Do you actually think you can retain the titles? Given that you are facing the former champions and all. And actually, what do you think of both pairs of champions?

Surprised at her knowledge, Sam straightens up and begins to think about her answer as she slowly stirs the tea in front of her before she replies.

Sam Marlowe: Wow, y’all caught me by surprise with that question. I mean that match ain’t happening for two weeks and to be honest, right now I wasn’t thinkin’ too much about it. I mean yeah, it is there in the back of my mind and all but still, my mind hasn’t really been on the title defense today. But thinking about it I have to say that it is a very good chance that Caleb and I will retain. After all this is out first defense and well for two people that were just thrown together for the first part, we definitely have a chemistry you know. It has to be something like that because honestly, we are completely different people. He’s heavy metal rock and I am country. He’s long hair and black shirts…I’m blue jeans and cowboy boots.

A scoff from Janie surprises Sam as she is in mid speech. Reaching for her tea, Sam gives Janie a look before asking where the scoff came from.

Janie: I have to say Sam that you really are a cavity inducing sweetheart. I saw that happened with Caleb and the fact that he got the win and did it by blindtagging you so he could claim all the glory. And we both know that he then tried to say that it was he that was the one carrying the team.

Before Sam could say anything, Janie holds up her hand.

Janie: I know that this is the point where you would defend your partner and I am just not having it. Because I want to ask you some other things and since I have you as a captive audience so to speak I want to know…

Captive that she was, Sam’s mind was definitely taken off of the night before the flight as Janie soon had her laughing with some of the questions she asked as the flight continued…so back to our regularly scheduled flash forward.

Sam Marlowe comes into view, this time she is dressed in a pair of blue cut offs with a white picot lace halter. Barefooted, Sam walks into the patio of her house, a plate of steak in one hand and a rootbeer in the other. Setting the steak down by the barbeque, she opens it before she lays the steak on which immediately begins to sile. On the table nearby, an open laptop where a recording of the action can be seen. Sam turns to face it bringing her smiling face into view.

Sam Marlowe: Welcome y’all to my backyard where today I decided that I was going to give you the lowdown on the mixed title match that is fixing to be held on Sunday September 16 in the Hanger in Lancaster California.

Sam uses a pair of large tongs to flip the steak. Closing the lid, she moves to sit in front of the computer and continues to speak.

Sam Marlowe: Seeing as this is the very first defense of the mixed tag title for Caleb and I, of course you would know that there was going to be a rematch for the titles against Kain and Mercedes Vargas. And of course, you know that Christian Underwood and Mark Ward always have something up their sleeve to give the fans of SCW every bit of excitement and are always good for a twist or two when it comes to matches like this. And here is the twist…they added London Underground to the match just to make things more interesting.

Sam takes a sip of her drink then addresses the computer again, this time her brows knit and a look of determination on her face.

Sam Marlowe: I have to say that it was a twist I wasn’t really expecting considering that London Underground ain’t really wanting the titles again if you can believe the talk. I mean sure, they are a threat and I know that Mackenzie or Charlotte could beat me ringpost to turnbuckle but I also know that I can give as good as I get. Yeah maybe they are bigger and badder but I have my speed and my high flying that just might cause them trouble. See if they want to use their power on me, they have to catch me first. And I will not hesitate to bring the fight to them, no sirree bob. After all, I am a champion and that is what champions do.

Sam stops for a second, holding up a finger and then moving to the barbeque once more to check and turn her steak. Walking back to the computer she leans over and putting both hands on the table on either side of it, she continues.

Sam Marlowe: I will admit that I am looking forward to stepping into the ring with either of the ladies of London Underground. Both of them are helluva a challenge and one that I am looking forward to conquering. Then we have the other former champion in Mercedes Vargas in the match. The record holder will be looking to become an eleven time champion and will be fighting tooth and nail should it come to that.

Sam looks to the side as she speaks, a look of worry now on her face.

Sam Marlowe: Listen, I know what you are thinking and I know that the odds are stacked against me retaining and that is ok. I like those odds and I like breaking them. I ain’t going to put down my opponents, hellfire, they have held the titles too but I have to admit that I have a whole lot of respect for Mercedes and the gals of London Underground but I need to show them that I deserve the same respect. All three…I mean four of us have been champions after all.

Sam moves to the barbeque and opening it allows a waft of hickory smoke to escape as she rescues the steak from the flames and puts it on her plate. Turning to the computer once more, she addresses it.

Sam Marlowe: I also want to let my partner Caleb know that I don’t think he carries me in the match and I don’t think that I carry him in the match. He’s going to have his hands full with Kain and London Underground too but I want him to know that I got his back and am going to be giving one hundred and ten percent. Now if you excuse me, Mama said it wasn’t polite to video promo and eat so I’m gonna have to say bye for now but trust me, next week, at Violent Conduct, I am going to be coming out fighting and I am going to either keep the belt or go down fighting.

With those words, Sam reaches for the keyboard and sends the image to black.

Is it bad to be too talented for your own good? I get that all the time. I'm not sure if it's a compliment or a threat. Might be other people's jealousy or their own conceit. I don't think it's possible to be too talented any more than it is to be too smart or too beautiful or too rich. I'm not saying the cons outweigh the pros; I'm simply saying there are cons.

Being judged just because people feel threatened, assumptions are made, rumors get started, people have an agenda. It comes with the territory.

While Misty and Vixen are synonymous with the Bombshells Division, SCW may never again see a wrestler who could not only beat anyone on any given night, but has dominated their women's division than most ever will. I once said to someone on Twitter that this wasn't a race but a marathon. And honestly, there's no one who can keep up with me. Many have tried, but somehow, someway, they always tend to come up a little short. I like to make a little game of it, it's sporting to me. But then, I've grown bored. It's no wonder why no one was able to break any of my numerous records. Some has stood for two years, others three, even four. Then again, SCW isn't a cakewalk. There's a reason why I say that no match is a night off in the division, or the company for that matter. I want to make a compromise. The Misty and Vixen's of the world might have the legacy, but I have the accomplishments.

Some people would be happy with just getting a championship match. I'm not "some people." I'm not even "most people." I'm the #ChampionofChampion

And I plan on walking out as champion again.

Carmen and Malcolm are at their usual booth at the coffee shop in the middle of a conversation. Mercedes thumbs through her messages on her cellphone.

Landry: So I grabbed the guy by the collar.

Carmen: Yeah, and I yelled out, Landry! Landry, you're killing him!"

Mercedes: So I assume the jig was up.

Carmen: Yeah, pretty much.

Malcolm shows off the fruits of their labor; his knuckles are swollen.

Landry: It was him or me. Yeah. Lucky me. Unlucky for him I am a MMA trainee and had been for years. Funny how using a gun is what we're trained on most while self defense is the thing we train the least.

Malcolm signals a passing waitress; she smiles at him. Malcolm continues.

Landry: The taser incident. You remember. The day I went on holiday?

Carmen: It never gets old.

Mercedes: What happened?

Carmen: Two officers responded to a domestic call on Thanksgiving and the guy starts running. One of the officers was a rookie and it was his first pursuit so he and his partner chased the guy around for about 10 minutes before they came to the freeway on the ramp.

Malcolm nods.

Landry: Right. So the guy tried to fight them off and one of the officers pins the suspect to the ground when the rook goes crazy with his stun gun, and he hit his partner.

Mercedes: And the guy gets away.

Carmen: Oh, the suspect got stunned too. The officer who got tasered spent a few weeks in the hospital. The rookie was as white as a sheet.

A waitress comes by with their order. Malcolm digs in into a Reuben sandwich.

Landry: You know, these sandwiches are weird, but at least we don’t have to worry about zombies anymore.

Carmen: I don’t think that person knows how sandwiches work.

She picks up her own sandwich, inspecting it.

Carmen: Life is like a bologna sandwich — wrong on so many levels, yet strangely satisfying.

Landry: Corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing, grilled between slices of rye bread. If I'm going to splurge, I'm going all the way. Ode to the Rueben.

Mercedes: You ask me to have lunch and this is the first time you use a sandwich as a metaphor. Amazing.

Record scratch. Freeze frame.

See that girl right there? Looks like she's hit rock bottom. Yep, that’s me. Now you’re probably wondering how I ended up in this situation. You’re only as good as your last match. Or in this case, your next one. They say you're never as good as everyone tells you when you win, and you're never as bad as they say when you lose. The question is, what are you if you didn't win or lose? Is there really an answer? Or maybe I don't really want to know the answer. I was hoping that the person behind the counter understood my look of embarrassment as I wasn't sure the name of my sandwich was called. French food is good for you. So why is it hard to pronounce?

Smile Because it Happened, The Fourth: Look What You Made Me Do
Present Day • S A N T A M O N I C A • C A L I F O R N I A

[REC]

"Some things are better left unsaid, but you can bet I'm going to say it anyway. I can't help being who I am."

The camera tilts upward, revealing Mercedes looking straight into the camera. There is a lot going on behind her as people walk up and down the floor of a casino here in Los Angeles. This is one of the few that she has visited time and time again in her more than a dozen trips to the city alone, and her fourth visit to the MGM Grand alone.

"You'll excuse me if I seem irritated today. Just three weeks ago, I was holding the Mixed Tag Team Championship and now poof, it's gone.

"Gone, gone, gone...

"I don't want to be that person, but it needs to be said: Caleb Storms and Samantha Marlowe walking out with our titles was a fluke. A stroke of pure luck, maybe even beginner's luck because if we had 100 matches, we would have won 99/100 times.

"That time they did beat us was just one night."

Mercedes holds up one finger.

"I wasn't entirely shocked that Caleb was quick in his title win in everyone’s faces, including Ben Jordan, or that Ben beat him pretty handidly at the go-home show. Caleb and Sam are what we thought they were, and Kain and I let them off the hook so I'm not surprised that we've invoked our rematch clause or that London Underground decided to do the same, making this a triple threat.

"Like it or not, believe it or not, Lady Luck won't be helping Caleb and Sam this time around so they might as well prepare for the disappointment headed their way. There's no getting over, under, around or through it for either of them. They're on borrowed time, and their fifteen minutes of fame - or should that be infamy - is almost up."

Mercedes unconsciously taps at her wrist before looking back at the camera. There was an edge to her voice now.

"Was that 'entitled' enough for you, Sam? When you say that, that word, you know who you remind me of actually, you know who you remind me of? Every other Bombshell who have, and still are, jealous of my success, and I get a lot of flak for that. Every 'who cares' after I break a record or accolade is actually code for them secretly saying, "that should have been mine, damn it!. They want me to shut up, but they have no way of making me and I refuse to apologize for my ambition and success. Sheep ask for their value. Champions know theirs.

"Now, granted, I'm not getting any younger, but my detractors aren't getting any bigger either. You want to know why? I've outlasted most of them to the point where they're an endangered species. I'm the only ex Mean Girls mainstay still around. I've outlasted every Bombshell who came into SCW the same year I did. Roxi Johnson was the last one left until she retired two years ago and all she's good for now is popping ratings.

"Maybe this still hasn't really sunk in, but we're one of the few Bombshells that's been here for three years or longer. Yes, longevity counts. If 80 percent of success is showing up, then the other 20 percent is following up. But that can't be right when it comes to me, oh no. Entitled, Sam, or works damn hard to get where I am? That's the question, isn't it? As much as you want to paint this picture or create this image that you're overlooked and undervalued, that leads me to think that we're one disappointment away from seeing #SamDeservesBetter, right? Am I getting warmer, hmm? Sweetheart, you can fool the SCW fans, the other girls on the roster, everyone in the company, Mark and Christian, even your own tag partner, but you can't fool me. What you've lost sight of is who you are, and who you are is what you hate. You don't know how good you've got it, or maybe you do. You're a five-time champion, a two-time world champion, the youngest World Bombshell Champion who then became the youngest two-time Bombshell Champion - oh, which by the way, you pinned Crystal, not me, for that second reign, or did you forget that was a triple threat - and now a Triple Crown Champion. That is definitely a gravy train with biscuit wheels.

"Do you know how much any one of those uppity and overhyped rookies who think they're the best thing since slice bread because they're "second-generation" or "third-generation" or because they were mentored by someone on the roster wants to be in your shoes right now? You're no longer the loveable loser fans fell in love with years ago, you're not an underdog  or the shy, fresh faced girl-next-door from H-Town. You're not even the Sin City Sweetheart or Girl Scout anymore. From the moment you wake up until you go home, take off your makeup, and go to bed, Sam Marlowe, you know in your heart that you have grown passed that and become someone even better. No, not Vixen Staggs..."

Mercedes points to herself.

"Me."

"You've become me, Sam Marlowe, expect I'm not a redhead and I'm more talented. But even if you were me, you still wouldn't get my respect because I can't respect someone who is a compulsive liar. It won't matter who wins between Kain and I or London Underground because one of us will be making history as the first-ever two-time champions. And you and the man-child Caleb will be a footnote. So enjoy the selfies you took, the tears you cried, the hugs you got, the night of free beer with Ben at the pub, and your reign with Caleb, because it won't be long before it's over."

***Fade***

A unopened box of raw pasta with green tomatoes and green peppers on a cutting board. A female hand reaches for a knife and slices the onions and peppers with precision.

"And welcome back. I feel like pasta, so today we're going to make my all-time favorite zesty pasta...."

Not exactly her best Italian impersonation, but it would have to do. While the onions and green peppers are cooking, Mercedes Vargas sets a pot of water to boil as she wash the tomatoes. She adds the pasta to the pot soon after, then begins to clean out a junk drawer. There was Bitcoin, a roll of quarters, a poorly written self-help book, an unsolvable math problem, a beat-up notebook, and an awkward photo that captures Mercedes posing for a photo in the pool while a couple kiss passionately in the background in what was a photobomb. The situation was made worse when Mercedes is whacked in the face by a beach ball. She picks up the photo and shakes her head. She cringed at the photo she held in her hand before talking to her adoring public.

"You see this photo? Story of my life."

Mercedes was so entrapped in her thoughts that she didn't hear the sound of keys in the door. She turns around and there stood Ricardo and Irma. Ricardo has his arms folded while Irma is shaking her head.

Ricardo: Ahem!

Mercedes turns around and, embarrassed, almost slams the draw on her hand.

Mercedes: Oh, hi! How long were you standing there?

Ricardo holds up Mercedes' house keys.

Ricardo: Too long. Really shouldn't leave your house keys in the door.

Irma: What are you doing?

Mercedes: When I’m cooking and alone I like to pretend I have my own cooking show.

Ricardo: Of course. Nothing completely wrong with that.

Mercedes: It's a guilty pleasure. I regret nothing. Nothing!

Irma: Are all of your observations based on sarcasm?

Ricardo: She's moved past the need for rational thinking and subsist solely on abstract concepts.

Mercedes: Why do they call it I can't believe it's not butter? The calories are ridiculous!

Irma: That’s OK. The kindness cancels out the cholesterol.

The scenes on Mercedes Vargas approaching to the camera and wearing her authentic t-shirt.

"I was impressed with what Mackenzie said about our World Bombshell Champion in her promo. I mean, damn girl..."

Mercedes holds up her hands in reservation.

"That was savage."

She tilts her head and offers a slow applause.

"It's like I was living vicariously through Mackenzie because what she said is what I've been saying about her all along. Needless to say, I'm glad someone other than me had the ovaries to say what everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE, was thinking. To me, this was a breath of fresh air and was necessary. That you actually beat her, that was impressive. You know how hard it is to beat Mikah, especially one-on-one? Only eight people have ever done it, but you being the humble person you are probably don't need or want the congratulations or pats on the back outside of your teammates. I'm surprised Mikah didn't try and get her loss expunged from her record. She did that before after being in a tag match once two years ago, but let's not ruin a good story. And you know something? I have a feeling that the Bombshell lockerroom won't be needing to stage a walkout or sign a petition this time.

"Just someone finally knocking her off that pedestal - for good."

Mercedes laces her fingers together dropping them below her chin while adding a small smile for the first time. Maybe her mood was getting considerably better, or she did this unconsciously.

"Kenz - Can I call you Kenz? No? Well, I'm going to you that anyway."

She pauses, brushing a few strands of hair from her face. Mercedes takes on a comical tone.

"Kenz, London Underground is obviously the odds-on-favorite and they probably know it too. But I love being against the odds, and I can tell you the odds won't be in your favor. You all are always up for a challenge, but this is one challenge you won't overcome. I get it. You want redemption, but you or your stablemates don't know what it's like to feel like you have to prove yourself after a loss. I wasn't born into the business like Brittany Williams or Seleana Zdunich, I wasn't trained by two legendary Hall of Famers. Success is in your DNA. Here's the thing, though: If you or your group want to underestimate me, you'll face the same result like Summer XXXtreme.

In just five years I won all the gold in SCW and I beat some of the best this company had to offer but Mackenzie, Charlotte, you both have a long way to go before you even accomplish that. When you actually break even one of the numerous records I've set in this company don't hesitate to let me know. When you win nine more championships?"

She makes a phone gesture with her hand.

"Call me."

She smiles.

"Just like at Violent Conduct you can call me World Mixed Tag Team Champion, again."

"Estar preparado para lo peor, esperar lo mejor."
"Prepare for the worst, hope for the best."

She pauses for effect, lowering her voice just above a whisper.

"Y que la suerte está siempre en su favor.”
"And may the odds be ever in your favor."

The sound of music can be heard throughout the open stage area of the small theater, swelling as it is joined by a voice singing the Music of the Night song from Phantom of the Opera. No one stands on the stage as the viewer of the theater tries to find the source of the song. The only person that can be seen is Sam Marlowe, a pair of denim jean shorts and a white cotton denim shirt that is tied lightly across a rather trim midsection. With her hair pulled back in a rather messy cascade of curls that run riotously down her back, she has her eyes closed and is singing along with the Phantom, her voice mixing as a smile breaks across her face. A loud cough catches her unawares which forces her eyes to snap open and a blush of bright crimson to tint her cheeks.

Sam Marlowe: How long have y’all been there listening?

The cameraman moves his hand in front of the camera and motions a very short time with his finger and thumb before he changes it to a thumbs up in a compliment to her singing. Ducking her head, Sam moves to sit down in one of the small theater chairs and motions for the camera to join her. When it does, she tucks a loose curl behind her left ear and begins to speak.

Sam Marlowe: I bet that is a first for you or anyone really. Surprise, the Bombshell half of the Mixed Tag champions loves Broadway musicals and can sing them. Believe it or not, if I wasn’t wrestling I suppose I would want to try my chances on a stage somewhere. Maybe that is why I love it here. Daddy helped me buy this place which I named Escape and it has given me a chance to pretend at times that I am not Sam Marlowe, SCW bombshell. No, here I can be Samantha Marlowe…Broadway star or Sammi Marlowe, singer of songs.

Getting a far away look on her face, Sam sighs as the music changes and softens slightly into a slow piano playing a song. Sam turns back to the cameraman

Sam Marlowe: You may be wondering why I am not in a gym training for this upcoming supercard and why I am here. Simply put, I have trained hard for the match and I have put myself through the toughest training I could. I spent time with my mentor Vixen and she pushed me hard to prepare with the help of her husband Spike. See, I know that this match is important and I know that one of the teams I am facing are trained by Gabriel and Odette Stevens. Hall of Famers for SCW and pretty damn good if you ask anyone. So I figured that I needed to use my connections and who better than the original hall of famers, Spike and Vixen Staggs. Yeah, everyone seems to want to be trained by the Stevens because they have the need to be seen working with the best. Or maybe it is because the Stevens have an open door policy for anyone to train there. And yeah, they do have champions coming out of that gym and bravo for them because we all know that they do have some excellent students.

The camera view seems to shrug as if the person behind it has no clue to where Sam is going with her comments. Sam crosses an arm over her chest and taps at her nose as she gets a thoughtful look on her face.

Sam Marlowe: I could really say mean awful things like others about the people that train and learn at the Steven’s gym but in actuality, they are all very good athletes who in reality have won championships or are on track to challenge for titles and if truth be told, I am pretty sure that they know it. But you have to also realized that just because I haven’t gone to them that I am not trained by a pair of great trainers either. And I think that might just be to my advantage in this match. I mean Mackenzie and Charlotte are super tough but their kind of tough isn’t really wrestler tough.

Again the camera “shrugs” at Sam’s comment as if asking what in heaven’s name she is talking about. Sam herself is very reflective as if talking to herself.

Sam Marlowe: Mackenzie did take Mikah to her limits and basically proved that she had what it takes to actually beat the Bombshell champion and did it quite handily. And if I were any normal person stepping into the ring with her, I would have to say that I should be scared and I will admit to being a little scared but it is more scared that I am defending my title in a match against a woman that has been so dominant. But then I think of the fact that I am the current champion and maybe she just might be a little scared of me.

The fact that Sam had said that with a completely straight face is utterly destroyed as first a giggle escapes her then a chuckle as if she is fighting back a tide of laughter that can’t be stopped. The camera view jiggles as if laughing with the bombshell. Finally getting control of the laughter, Sam wipes at her eye to brush away the tears of mirth.

Sam Marlowe: Boy oh boy, sometimes I make myself laugh too much with these little chats. Truly, y’all can’t believe half the things I am thinkin’ at any one time. Like for instance, talking about Mackenzie like she is a regular gal when clearly she isn’t. Don’t get me wrong, she is the former champion, the very first one in the mixed tag title scene. But here is where it gets interestin’. See, I am here talkin’ about Mackenzie like it is a done deal that she will be the one in the ring facing me. But that ain’t something that is set in stone because see, there is someone else in London Underground that could be in the ring. Charlotte is also someone that could be in that match.

The cameraview moves almost questioningly as Sam again taps a finger against her nose as she ponders the match and the different variables that could be introduced.

Sam Marlowe: See, London Underground works with a principle that any two of that group can get in the ring and compete for the titles so I could sit here and talk all about Mackenzie and totally ignore her partner Charlotte and that could really cause me a problem because of a cocky think I know what they have planned situation. I mean yeah, it has been more Mackenzie in that ring and trust me I know she is tough but that might be the game plan for London Underground. To make me think that it is going to be one of them and then at Violent Conduct it is completely the other. Wouldn’t that be a mule kick in the teeth? I prepare for one and it is the other that steps into the ring. So I have to really think about training for both. And I have. I trained hard and studied the match tapes of Mackenzie and then Vixen pointed out that Charlotte was just as dangerous so I trained double hard to learn everything I could about her too. I wasn’t going to be cocky, not one bit when realized that if I want to keep my title I have to be willing and able to face either of them in the ring.

Sam pulls a leg up to place a bare foot on the seat and wrap her arms around the knee as she rests her chin on it. Looking at her, a slightly knitting of her brows is the only indication that Sam could be concerned about the upcoming match.

Sam Marlowe: I know I shouldn’t be too worried about the match because it is a mixed tag match and I am only responsible for half the work but I am the type of wrestler that really needs to put it all into the match and leave everything in the ring. And I know my partner Caleb will have his hands full with the men of London Underground. But I ain’t going to let him down in this match. I am going to fight the fight of the night to keep our titles around our waists and if that means that one hundred percent isn’t enough, I am going to be giving that much more in search of the win.

Sam stops and looks up at the cameraman and smiles again.

Sam Marlowe: Will y’all listen to me jabberin’ away about how I am going to bring the fight to the ring when I have to say that this is a match that most people seem to think that I am the underdog for. First ever mixed tag champions, the mixed tag team that beat them for the belts and then lil ole me and my partner Caleb, the current champions who beat the team that beat London Underground. It’s been a while since I studied logic but if we beat the team that beat the first team, doesn’t that logically suggest that we would be able to beat that first team? Hmmm I wonder…I bet that London Underground would disagree with that hypothesis.

Sam Marlowe: Regardless of what they say or what they do, London Underground is going to be in that ring to dominate and prove why they need the titles but don’t want them. That’s right, I said it. They need the titles but don’t want ‘em.

The camera view moves closer to Sam’s face as she offers it a small half smile as if to say come closer and let me explain…

Sam Marlowe: I am pretty sure that both Mackenzie and Charlotte will tell you they don’t care about the titles but if that was the case, why give them the shot? After all, Mackenzie beat the Bombshell champion, why isn’t she moving in on that title? Why isn’t Charlotte thinking that she can challenge for a singles title? Both of those women are talented enough and sure as hellfire strong enough to win one but they just want to rest on their dominance of the mixed tag titles. And I guess that is all right.

Sam Marlowe: I guess what I am doing is playing all sorts of scenarios in my mind to figure out why they are in the match. But one thing I am pretty certain of is that they don’t think that I am going to be a challenge and that right there is going to be why I am aimin’ to prove that I ain’t just another pretty face bombshell that is nothing more than eyecandy compared to Mackenzie and Charlotte when it comes to wrestling. I ain’t going to sit back and just let them bring the fight to me, I am going out there and I am going to give the fans, the people watching on the live stream and every person out there includin’ Mackenzie and Charlotte a reason to believe that I ain’t going to make taking the titles easy whatsoever.

The camera view moves up and down as if agreeing with Sam which only makes her smirk slightly as a giggle bubbles up from the bombshell who then let’s go of her knee after checking the watch on her wrist. The laughter changes to a gasp of surprise as Sam rushes to her feet and then begins heading up the aisle of the theater before stopping to turn and wave at the camera.

Sam Marlowe: I wish I could stay and talk but I have class to get to and if I don’t hurry, I am going to miss my test today. Last one before I get to relax and prepare more for the match at Violent Conduct. See you later.

Reaching down to grab a bag that the camera had missed, Sam spins around and disappears through a curtain at the back of the theater.

Pussy Willow can be seen rushing along the wall of a gym that is very familiar. Above the door reads Staggs Dungeon and when Pussy pulls open the door, the sounds inside for the most part are the familiar sounds of bumps being taken, feet stomping on the canvas of a ring and grunts and moans of students mixing with the sounds of moves being called out by a voice that is very authoritative. Stepping from the bright sunlight to the interior where she waits as her eyes adjust, Pussy can see a redhead wearing a wrestling singlet over a rather battered and torn sleeveless half tee. Making her way into the gym further, Pussy sees Sam working on a heavy bag, her hands taped lightly and her bouncing feet in red converse hightops moving her around the bag to attack from all sides. Pussy stands back only far enough to avoid a collision as she calls out to her friend.

Pussy Willow: Hey Sam, I was wondering if you had time to talk about your match at Violent Conduct? I mean it is only days away and you have a really big challenge coming up. You are facing Mercedes Vargas and Kain not to mention London Underground’s bombshells.

Sam stops throwing punches at the bag and then brushes the damp curls out of her face as she catches the bag and leans heavily against it breathing deeply. Pussy raises one eyebrow as Sam slowly begins to shake her head at the interviewer.

Sam Marlowe: Y’all want to know something Pussy? I have to admit that I am not going to see this as big a challenge as you think it is. I mean sure, the odds are stacked against me keeping my title and with those odds, a lot of people are betting against Caleb and I but believe or not, I think we stand a better than good chance to win this match at Violent Conduct.

Pussy Willow: What makes you think that Sam? London Underground was pretty dominant when they had the bombshell tag titles and then again when they won the mixed tag titles. And look at Mercedes and Kain, both of them are grand slam winners. These are big challenges for you. Okay but let’s break it down. I know you gave my cameraman that exclusive about the London Underground but you need to give me the low down on Mercedes Vargas.

Sam nods as she moves away from the bag and grabs a water bottle that she pulls the spout open to shoot the liquid in the bottle into her mouth with a splash against her flushed face. Turning once more, she aims a punch at the heavy bag before moving between it and Pussy with a motion of her left hand inviting the interviewer to join her near a corner of the gym where a skipping rope can be seen. Grabbing it, Sam begins a slow skip as Pussy begins to speak again.

Pussy Willow: Tell me Sam, just what are you going to have to say about Mercedes. After all if you asked anyone who knows anything about SCW and your career in it, your arch nemesis could be said to be Mercedes Vargas because the two of you seem to keep meeting for matches and especially title matches. What do you have to say about that?

Sam Marlowe: I’m just lucky I guess. After all, how many bombshells can claim to have a somewhat dominant streak against someone that has won so many titles in Sin City Wrestling. But don’t think I don’t know that when I face Mercedes she brings out the best in me. I mean she is the one out of all the bombshells in this company that makes me glad to say I am getting into the ring to face her. Oh I am glad that I face the others but there is something about Mercedes Vargas that adds that little bit more incentive to the effort I put in. Maybe it is because she keeps on about how good she is and her records and it just irks me that she acts like she is the end all and be all of SCW.

As she speaks, her voice gets slightly breathless as the speed of the rope increases. Pussy watches as her friend begins to sweat from the exertion of the jumping and the rope becomes a blur. Finally it stops and Sam lets it hang at her feet as she starts to talk once more before Pussy can.

Sam Marlowe: Now if you ask me, I would have to say she has every right to say that she is good but she isn’t unbeatable. I should know because Caleb and I beat her to take the titles away from her and end her tenth title reign.

Pussy Willow: That is true Sam but didn’t you hear what she said about you last week. I mean she talked about you like you were nothing at all for her to deal with. Did you?

Sam Marlowe: Pussy, if I listened to everyone talkin’ me down, then I wouldn’t have the confidence to walk out to that ring. And have you ever seen me not want to get in that ring and defend a title or forfeit a match? I don’t listen to the rantin’s and ravin’s of someone that needs to put someone down. Hellfire I did hear what she said and like water off a duck’s back, I am just lettin’ it roll right off. See, she seems to think that she knows me but truth is, she doesn’t know me that way. All she sees is what she wants to see and that is fine with me. All I can say is underestimate me Mercedes, it will be fun.

Sam drapes the rope over her neck as she leans against the wall, sliding down to sit against it. Sighing, she offers a sad look to her friend which makes Pussy raise an eyebrow in surprise.

Pussy Willow: What is that look for Sam? Are you thinking with all the talk that has been going on that you are going to lose your titles? Because if you ask me, that is probably what London Underground and Mercedes and Kain are thinking. If you could tell them anything, what would you want to say?

Sam Marlowe: What would I want to say? I’ll tell you what I would want to say. I would want to say that I consider y’all challenges that I respect but they need to give me the same respect. And no one seems to. But that is just fine by me because I don’t need to be handed that respect and if I have to fight to earn it then you better believe that I am going to be taking the fight to them and giving them reason to respect me. And if that means that I am to beat both bombshells at the same time, then you can believe that is what I am going to do. I am not afraid to prove anything in that ring. And if I have to do it by pinning Mercedes or Mackenzie or Charlotte, then that is what I am going to do. But no matter what, I am going to defend my titles and I am going to be like a mama bear with her cub. They ain’t gonna know what hit them.

Pussy’s eyes widen in surprise at the confidence in Sam’s voice.

Pussy Willow: You sound really confident Sam but I do have to remind you that this is a match of three sets of champions, so no matter what it is going to definitely be a fight.

Sam Marlowe: You can be dang sure of that Pussy. I mean yeah, it is going to be a fight but it is going to be a fight I am out to win. And I know that Caleb is prepared to do what he needs to in order to keep these titles and I know that I know what I need to do to keep them too. Between the two of us, we ain’t going to let these titles go without a fight.

Sam pushes herself back up the wall as Pussy stands too. Before Pussy can say anything else, Sam’s attention is caught by the sound of her name being called out from across the gym where the pair can see Vixen motioning for Sam to join her. Patting Pussy on the shoulder, Sam smiles and motions with her head towards Vixen.

Sam Marlowe: Guess it is back to work Pussy. See you at Violent Conduct.

Sam leaves her friend and walks towards Vixen who begins to speak in a low voice as she guides Sam towards the ring where Spike can be seen. The last image seen is Sam rolling under the bottom rope of the ring as Vixen climbs the ring stairs to slide between the ropes.

The back of a University of Nevada varsity jersey can be seen. Dressed in a pair of navy hightops and a dark pair of denim capris that are molded to her legs, Sam turns to slowly face the camera that is pointed at her, the red recording light flashing as the redhead brushes the windblown curls that frame her face behind her ear. Around her waist rests the mixed tag title belt with her name emblazoned on it.

Sam Marlowe: It is getting close..as matter of fact, forty eight hours from now will see me and Caleb Storms defending these titles in a triple threat match that will see us facing the first two teams to hold these belts, London Underground, the first team to hold these titles and Mercedes Vargas and Kain who beat them to take the titles. Now you would think that right about now I should be gettin’ very nervous about the match and be talking my usual good luck messages and the like and trust me I do wish them good luck.

Sam offers a thumbs up to the camera as she smiles.

Sam Marlowe: Now Mackenzie and Charlotte, I hope the two of you have flipped that coin or whatever it is you two do to decide who it is that is going to be getting in the ring and Mercedes, I hope you got whatever you need to prepare for this match. Seein’ as I am coming to the ring with all of the fans behind me I sincerely hope that there will be no hard feelings when I bring the fight to you to keep my title after all, that is what you would do in my shoes right?

Nodding slowly, Sam moves closer to the camera while still remaining in focus.

Sam Marlowe: I am not going to be cocky enough to think that I have what it takes to totally dominate in that ring and I know that there are men that are going to be facing off as well in that match so it is not up to just you and I for the titles. But when it is time for the bombshells to be in the ring, that is when it is going to come down to who wants it more. Is it you London Underground? I don’t really think so because you see to just not really care much anymore given what I have heard. Could it be Kain and Mercedes Vargas because she needs to be a champion to somehow justify her career in Sin City Wrestling? Will this match give her title number eleven? I don’t think so because there is one team who wants these titles more than the two of you and that is Caleb and I. And the fact that we want to keep them means we are going to be one heck of a team to overcome because we won’t be making it easy to pry these titles off our waists.

Sam lets a hand rub softly against the plate of the title in a caress.

Sam Marlowe: Good luck London Underground and Mercedes and Kain, you are going to need it.

Sam walks away with a smile and whistle, her hand resting on the belt as the view goes to black.

Lancaster, California
Marriot Hotel
6:30 PM

In a large, yet dark room, we see ourselves staring at a long, rounded table. On the one side, we see Rocky Mountains. who is looking directly at the camera. It's night time in Lancaster, California, where Violent Conduct V is scheduled to take place. She nods to the camera, indicating that's ready to begin.

Hi! I'm Rocky Mountains and I'm here tonight with one of the members of the Grand Slam Champions, who are scheduled to take on two other teams for the Mixed-Tag Team championship belts. He's also a NH-Times best-seller with his book "Destiny: How I Became The King," selling more than 20 million copies and is now a best-selling musician, as his album "Kings" skyrocketed to #1 on all the charts and has been hitting the top charts in nearly all the countries in the world, selling more than 30 million copies to date. Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you....KAIN!

The camera shifts over to Kain, who is dressed professionally, donning a red blazer, white shirt with a blue tie, along with black dress pants and shoes. He nods to the camera before facing Rocky, who starts her first question.

Kain, you're about to step into the ring with two other teams. Knowing that you lost the titles to Storm and Sam, how confident are you feeling as you confront these two teams?

Confidence has NEVER been my problem. My confidence has always stayed with me since I was born and it's something that NO ONE can take away from me! Now, I'll tell you this; it's to be expected that every now and then, you'll lose matches and maybe even titles. This has happened to me before MULTIPLE times, so I'm used to it. What Caleb and Sam did was a minor accomplishment a few weeks back; they won't be holding the titles. Mercedes and I know EXACTLY what we have to do. That's complete dominance over the two teams. We will have our revenge against Storm and Sam and we will humiliate London Underground one more time, putting them in their place. This isn't personal; it's just business. And when it comes down to both business and execution, I take pride in knowing that I can emerge from a setback and come out swinging. Those tag belts, as far as I'm concerned, will be ours for the taking. Violent Conduct V is going to be a LONG night for those pack of fools!

While that's great to hear, both of those teams won't just lay down and hand those titles to you.

Nor do I expect them to, but they know how tough and dangerous I am. What happened last time was nothing more then LUCK that allowed Caleb and Sam to win. This time, they're going to need a lot more than LUCK to win the war.

Don't you think that you're a little cocky?

Kain laughs abruptly at the question, then nods and smiles.

In this game, you're gonna have to be. When you deal with two teams who want the same prize, you gotta become the bigger man in it all. But I'm no rookie either; I used to be one of those guys that thought he had all the answers in the palm of his hand. Where did it take me? Far, Rocky, but not as far as I really wanted to go. It lead me to some disastrous results in my career. That being said, you have to place those under your belt, make them a part of your resume, and show the world that is you in your strongest and weakest forms. Cocky I can allow myself to be, Rocky, but you gotta maintain it like cooling down a dog that's just too excited for its own good and trying to get it calm again. My ego, for example, needs to stay calm and focused. Once that bell rings, all it takes is determination and effort to see it done. London Underground and now Caleb and Sam will have NO IDEA what Mercedes and I have planned for them. They are about to find out, once and for all, why the Grand Slam Champions are destined for greatness and have ALWAYS been destined for greatness. Mercedes and I know the stakes all too well and we won't be denied the belts this time. Cocky? Yes, Rocky. But confident? Yes. You don't walk into a match feeling overconfident and too cocky. That's going to be your downfall in the end.

Kain looks away for a second, thinking, then turns back to Rocky.

It doesn't matter what my opponents decide to say or do after this. None of that matters. It's nothing but a lot of horseshit out of their mouths, especially from the mouths of the London Underground. History is not going to repeat itself, as Caleb claims it will. What we do in our life echoes in eternity, Rocky. Violent Conduct V is going to be one hell of a ride for every individual involved, no matter where they are placed on the card. That's where you make your mark EVERY TIME at EVERY SHOW, especially at a PPV like this. Kain, The King Of Kings? He's not just a God, he's not just a Legend. He's a man who has immortalized himself and will NEVER be forgotten, because he created special moments for the entire world to see, no matter if he was in the underground or in professional wrestling. Violent Conduct V is going to be MY stepping stone into eternal greatness yet again, Rocky. London Underground and the soon to be former champions are about to realize that when you cross swords with legends like Mercedes and I, the game is pretty much over for them. I'm going to enjoy this; I'm going to enjoy the blood spilling from their mouths, the suffering they will earn at our hands, and the immortal knowing that they NEVER stood a chance against us. Mercedes and I will handle the conflict with swift retribution in mind and we WILL walk away with the titles. That's a fact. I'm ready for the battle...

The question is...

Kain looks at the camera with a serious expression.

Are they?

The camera shifts over to Rocky Mountains, who nods at the camera.

Ladies and gentlemen, you heard it first from Kain, who is going to stop at NOTHING to win back the Mixed Tag-Team championship at ANY cost. Stay tuned for Sunday! I'm Rocky Mountains! Have a great night everybody!

Both reporter and wrestler continue their heavy discussion as the scene slowly fades to black inside the hotel room.

* * * *[/i]

I deal in facts. Not bullshit. That should be MY tagline, shouldn't it?

Indeed., what happened two weeks ago was NOTHING MORE but a blemish on my career. I had somehow slipped and allowed them to get away with the win.

This time, Caleb Storm and Sam Marlowe will regret their actions at Violent Conduct V. And so will London Underground, a team who want a shot at revenge, but that too will be denied to them.

I'm ready for the storm one more time. I'm ready for these pack of mob-gangster wannabes that think they are King Shit around here. I'm ready to show these clowns that what I have in store for them will surprise the hell out of them. Ever since I got back, I've been feeling revitalized, rejuvenated. Mercedes is the best female partner I could ever ask for, because we finally click like two peas in a pod and we both know what's at stake. I trust her in that ring as she trusts me and NOTHING IN THE WORLD can break that unbreakable trust. When you see a team in action like how we do, nothing can stop us. I know what you're going to say..."Well, if that's true, why lose?" Why? Because we underestimated the opposition. This time, we are going to keep that factor in check as we completely decimate the competition at Violent Conduct V. London Underground will be quaking in their boots one more time. They didn't expect us and they didn't see us coming. For the second time, they won't see us coming again either. We have a few new tricks up our sleeves and they simply can't and/or won't be able to anticipate our brutal assault. Neither will Caleb Storm or Sam Marlowe.

As far as I'm concerned, those tag-team belts are coming home to us, the Grand Slam Champions. Mercedes and I are ready for whatever you try to dish out at us. You can throw everything at us physically, mentally, spiritually, it won't matter. We will take your ridiculous punishment and throw it back at you ten fold! What motivates us is winning back something that was stolen from us, that was taken from us! We wish to ascend ourselves back to the throne, thank you very fucking much! We will stop at NOTHING to get our titles back. Hell, it doesn't even matter if you threw us in a more dangerous situation, like Hell In A Cell or a Last Man/Woman Standing Match, whatever the case may be, WE ARE PREPARED to receive what you idiotic dipshits want to try against us. No matter how many finishing moves you have, no matter how you try to dazzle us with your strength, speed, power, intelligence, and so on, we are BETTER equipped to handle the situation. Do you really think you're going to pull a fast one on US? I don't think so! Wrong. None of you are capable enough to slow or even stop us for that matter.

London Underground. Sam Marlowe and Caleb Storm.

Let me perfectly clear on something.

I'm not afraid of either team. I'm not intimidated by you. Fact is. I'm not scared of any single human being on the planet.

You can stay within the shadows and talk al the gutless, cowardly trash all you want. But none of that talk is going to save you. None of that bullshit is going to help you in defeating either Mercedes and I. The Mixed-Tag Team Championship belts are coming home. The Grand-Slam Champions will once again rule with an iron fist and if you try to challenge us again and again, I PROMISE YOU, you will be put down AGAIN....AND AGAIN....AND AGAIN. That being said, I'm well aware of how bad, tough, and dangerous you punks are. I get that you're made of iron will and courage and all that crap, but really? In the end, why even bother dueling with the likes of Mercedes and I? Admit the fact now and let our jobs be much easier, because if you don't, then things will be UNPLEASANT for Violent Conduct V. We certainly won't be conducting ourselves as polite folks that want to have an intelligent discussion. If any conversation is happening in the ring, it's going to be with our bodies. It's going to be about carnage and destruction. It's about who is going to cause the loudest noise on the battlefield and seeing which team stands out the most and I'll be damned if Mercedes and I are last in the fight.

Nothing will stop us from pursuing the belts and coming out victorious.

Sam? You can take that luck and shove it up the ass where the sun don't shine, because luck is for losers. We are winners, The Grand Slam Champions.

Mercedes and I are your biggest nightmares, LU and soon-to-be former champions. We will exit through the underground without much of a scar on our bodies, we will withstand the storm this time.

We will conquer...and we will win.

For I am Kain.....THE KING OF KINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I........HAVE SPOKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I N G L E W O O D • C A L I F O R N I A

We open our scene with a view of a cardboard target attached from a hanger. Bullets riddle through the target.

“I love the smell of ammunition in the morning.”

With a satisfied smile, Mercedes Vargas stands blowing the smoke off the tip of her gun. Carmen pops her head over to her stall. She nods her head in approval at her cousin’s performance.

Mercedes: So, how did I do?

Carmen: Well, if you want an honest opinion, you’re getting pretty good at this.

Mercedes: Really?

Carmen: Oh, yeah. Who taught you how to shoot – Stevie Wonder? Your aim is way off.

Mercedes rolls her eyes as she yanks off her earmuffs and walks past Carmen on her way to the front desk.

Mercedes: I'm just not feeling like myself today. The pay-per-view is this weekend, and I don't know if I'll even walk out champion.

Carmen: You've been going on about that all week, Mercedes. So what if you don't walk out with the titles? You've been champion enough times as is. Don't you think it's someone else's turn?

The clerk stops what he’s doing and turns to her.

Clerk: Will that be all, ladies?

Mercedes: That’s it. *turning in her gun and magazines* Can I ask you a question?

Clerk: Sure.

Carmen briefly looks up and realize what may happen next. The clerk looks up at her as she briefly does pantomime. He misinterprets her facial expressions at first, but his slight nod assured her that her message got across. Mercedes stops in mid sentence.

Mercedes: What's wrong?

Clerk: Uh, nothing.

Carmen: Mercedes, we've got to go. Your flight is an hour.

They leave before Carmen turns back around to the clerk, mouthing "thank you" as we fade to black.

Blog: Almighty Fire: Redefined, the Second
semana del 9 al 16 de septiembre de 2018

Start late in tennis and you might end up with broken dreams and a sore shoulder. Start late in MMA and you might end up a bloodied piece of meat splayed on a hospital emergency room table. Start late in wrestling and you might end up with regrets and a short career. It's a huge gamble and a big money risk and, yes, the stakes are in fact very high. So to be successful, start young. I mean, that's how it works, right? Tiger Woods, LeBron, and Serena Williams were naturals when they were toddlers.

And it's not only about starting young, it's also about excelling early. Tori Amos taught herself the piano at the age of two - two! - and got a full scholarship to John Hopkins University by the age of five at their music school. Mozart was writing his own music by five and gave performances in front of royalty. Who wouldn't want to have that kind of life?

Nott racking up championships at a clip? Failing to live up to the potential everyone expects you to? You're this amount of years in the business and still haven't won a world title, much less any title? Guess you shouldn't have quit that day job or you're a wannabe, over-hyped or overrated, or a complete loser.

Most people in their late 20s are either still paying off student loans or credit cards, are already married, or having babies. Me? I took that gamble. I started late in the game. I'm a late bloomer, and I'm not ashamed or afraid to admit it. Often you here about wrestlers getting their training right out of high school. Some are fortunate to get their training in before 25. And then there's me. I was 28 when I had my first professional wrestling match; two years before hitting the BIG 3-0, ten years where the typical wrestler reaches their prime. (Granted, I was 23 when I started training, toured the independent circuit for the next two years after that, put my career on hold to take up modelling and acting full time for three years, then picked up wrestling again).

Conventional wisdom says that if you're 30 - and not only that but 30 and a woman - then you should be winding down your career, a great jumping off point for planning retirement. When I hit 30, I was holding four championships at once across three different promotions, becoming a marginal name in the wrestling scene, and already visited Canada, Mexico, Japan, and Australia. If you're still wrestling after five years, you deserve a medal. That's the average for a woman in this sport. Seven years and you have defied expectations. I came to SCW in my fifth year, but I don't think the top brass expected to have a 32-year-old rookie three weeks shy of her birthday on their roster. Three years later, I became the oldest World Bombshell Champion in history. The rest, as they say, is history. Not only have I put the ''Age is nothing but a number’ remark to shame but I've gone on to set numerous records over the years.

Wrestling was supposed to be something fun on the side. Turns out I made a career out of it. Today, I'm a ten-time champion in SCW, a Grand Slam Champion, and a future Hall of Famer. I've circled the globe as a professional wrestler - some 200 cities in over 40 countries across six continents. Not bad for someone who haven't reached 40. So maybe age-shaming isn't that much a big deal as fat-shaming or slut-shaming, but I find it funny that most of my distractors have moved on while I'm still here. I can never understood the envious glances my way, still don't.

Long after they said I should've quit, this late bloomer has blossomed at the right time. People sense that. It's been quiet, peaceful even, ever since most of those detractors either walked from this company, were fired, or disappeared into obscurity, and maybe I never had a choice, but that isn't necessarily true. There was a choice.

There was always a choice.

Leave early a hero, or stay late and become a villian.

And honestly?

I wouldn't have it any other way.

"Pucho?"

"No gracias. I'm appalled at you! You know I don't like cigarettes!"

"Sorry, I forgot.

"Don't mention it."

"That I forgot or that you don't like cigarettes?

"Pick one."

(A stretch of road under sunny skies. A black Ford F150 speeds by on the freeway. As it shrinks before us, we track the vehicle going towards the Los Angeles International Airport)

Mercedes:

Jorge:

Mercedes: Are we there yet?

Jorge: Not even close.

(We cut to inside the moving truck. Mercedes Vargas is in the passenger side listlessly turning the pages of a magazine as Jorge, her brother, is behind the wheel.)

Jorge: You got over that headache pretty quick, huh?

Mercedes: I guess so. It must have been something I caught up in that forsaken wilderness they call South Dakota.

Jorge: So, how did your last match go?

Mercedes: Not as I would have liked. Obviously, I didn't win, but I am on the pre-show for the pay-per-view. When are we going to be there?

Jorge: We've got a long way to go. So, is that supposed to be good or bad?

Mercedes: Not being on the main card? Well, let's see here. (counting on her fingers) I'm in an inter-gender tag team match against two other teams, the match itself will be on the internet, and there's a very good I could be trending. Hey, Jorge?

Jorge: What?

Mercedes: Are we there yet?

Jorge: No. You know, whoever has you as their partner must be lucky.

Mercedes: That's open to interpretation. If anything, I'm the lucky one. It's not everyday that I get to have a male tag partner, let alone lock up with one in the ring, knowing full well the danger I could put myself in. How much further?

Jorge: Not far off now.

Mercedes: Now?

Jorge: Yes.

Mercedes: Really?

Jorge: No.

Mercedes: We've got to be th-

Jorge: Don't make me turn this truck around.

Mercedes: Fine. Keep driving...

Jorge: Did you hear about the guy who started a house fire while baking cookies on a George Foreman grill?

Mercedes: You're kidding!

Jorge:  I wish I was, but it really happened.

Mercedes shakes her head.

Jorge: Only in Florida.

Mercedes: Hey! This isn't the way back.

Jorge: There's construction going on so we gotta take an alternate. The only thing I like about driving down Highway 80 is seeing what the Waltreak Church sign says.

Mercedes: Almost makes up for how crappy the road is.

[REC]

"Some things are better left unsaid, but you can bet I'm going to say it anyway. I can't help being who I am."

The scenes on Mercedes Vargas approaching to the camera and wearing her authentic t-shirt.

"Just days before our triple threat Mixed Tag Team Championship showdown at Violent Conduct V, and Kain and I have the champions and the co-challengers who we beat to end their reign. There's just something about Violent Conduct. This nice little Mexican stand-off can only end with one winner. And the fact that Kain and I are Grand Slam Champions in SCW should tell both of our opponents all they need to know; that we have a knack for dethroning champions.

There's something to be said for me and Sam Marlowe at this event. She's entering as champion for the second time and in her third title match at this pay-per-view. Sunday will be my fourth match at the event and my third title match. That's pretty impressive, if I say so myself.

Danny, as he is wont to do, reminded everyone that he doesn't deal in BS, he deals in facts. Here's a fact: every graduate of Odette and Gabriel's school has gone on to become a champion in SCW. Devona, champion; Fenris, champion; Osborne, champion, Daniel, champion: Charlotte, champion; Mackenzie, champion; Evie, champion, Triple Crown winner, made the Hilton-Williams clan her prison bitch at Summer XXXtreme two years in a row, Dani Weston, future champion. Kenzi and Charlotte is just another success story Odette and Gabriel will no doubt be proud of, and they should. I had a standout career even before I signed with SCW, but I started from nothing and had to work my ass off just to get looked at.

With 51 wins to my credit, I've won 10 championships, already am a Triple Crown Champion, a Grand Slam Champion, still own the longest unpinned streak in the Bombshells Division, has held a championship at least once six years in a row, and hasn't missed a pay-per-view match in five years, among other things..

And I'm 38 years old. And still an active fighter.

Started from the bottom, now I'm here.

London Underground can talk all they want about how tight their locker room is, how much they love their business endeavor and their new lease on life.

It's all talk.

London Underground, at Violent Conduct, the talking stops. The intimidation ENDS."

"I may not be holding the world title, I may not be holding a championship right now, but I'm still above all of you. I'm still the one at the mountain top, I'm still the one you have to beat, I'm still the new standard to what it means to be a Bombshell. Not only did I change the game, but I'm ahead of the game. No matter if you look behind or ahead, you'll always be chasing greatness. And Kenzi maybe you don't care about my accolades and accomplishments, but at least...at least you and Charlotte have something to strive for, at least the Bombshells and Superstars have a goal to reach, or else what good are you being in SCW? Beating people up is great, being a paycheck bitch is not.

"You like beating people up? That's great. Beat me up, I'm a glutton for punishment. Most of the girls you've beat, once they're down, they stay down. But just know Mackenzie that each time you knock me down, I will get back up, and I always get back up. I've been doing this for nine years. I've seen the best and I've beaten the best. And there's nothing..."

Mercedes shakes her head.

"There's nothing either you or Charlotte can do to me."

"Now out of respect, you never, ever, ask a woman their weight, but, I have noticed Sam's gained a few pounds lately, and that's due to carrying your ass." “You ever had one of those days where you just don't feel like coming to work? Sunday is going to be another one of those days. That you think you're walking out of the main event with a victory at our expense? Not going to happen. What we promise will happen is that the hits will keep on coming.

"So, Caleb Storms, bring your A-game. Throw up the horns..."

Mercedes mockingly does so, even going as far as sticking out her tongue.

“Pray to the gods..."

She points two fingers to the sky while barely looking up, then back to the camera.

“And sharpen up those guitar skills."

Mercedes starts an air guitar solo, complete with windmill action.

"Hope is real, but so is disappointment. But, hey, don’t be too hard on yourself, it’s not the end of the world. You tried at least. Look at it this way Caleb and Sam, at the end of the day there's always, well, “hope.” So keep hope alive, at this point it may not be warranted, but keep having hope, I’ll just crush it for you. Keep having faith; I’ll just break it for you. Dream big, I’ll just end those for you."

Mercedes laces her fingers together dropping them below her chin while adding a small smile for the first time. Maybe her mood was getting considerably better, or she did this unconsciously.

"Estar preparado para lo peor, esperar lo mejor."
"Prepare for the worst, hope for the best."

She pauses for effect, lowering her voice just above a whisper.

"Y que la suerte está siempre en su favor.”
"And may the odds be ever in your favor."
