SCW makes its return to Fort Defiance with Climax Control 240, the go-home show to Into the Void VIII. The event takes place at BeeHoldzil Fighting Scouts Events Center in Fort Defiance, Arizona with a seven-match card. This is the fifth visit to Fort Defiance and the BeeHoldzil Fighting Scouts Events Center since March 2016 (CC 143). Two other visits happened at CC 182 and CC 195 on 11 June and 12 November 2017. Climax Control last visited Fort Defiance for CC 217 on 7 November 2018. At CC 217, Senor Vinnie, Todd Williams, and Ty West defeated Joshua Acquin, Jake Raab and Casey Williams respectively in the first round of the Gold Rush Tournament; Amy Santino fought Apple Coren to a draw via double countout; and Ben Jordan successfully defended the Roulette Championship against Caleb Storms in a Roulette Rules 20 Minute Iron Man match 3 falls to two to retain the title in his second defense. Of the ten wrestlers who wrestled at CC 217, only Acquin returns for this weekend's show, his third overall, including CC 195. Crystal Zdunich (CC 143); Bobbie Dahl and Kate Steele (both CC 182); and Trinity Jones and Mercedes Vargas (CC 195) have also been in Fort Defiance. Storms has been there twice (CC 195, CC 217).

Advertised for this weekend: Malachi hopes his second SCW match is better than his first as he goes one-on-one with the former Roulette and Tag Champion Acquin; Jessie Salco looks to add her second victory of 2019 against Bobbie Dahl, who competes in her second match since her in-ring return; Blade Alexander looks to get back to winning ways against Teddy Warren-Steele; Amanda Cortez battles Sierra Williams Travis Levitt looks to snap a long losing skid against former World Heavyweight Champion Fenris. And the Clash of Champions continues when Austin James Mercer takes on Griffin Hawkins in the main event.

JOSHUA ACQUIN vs MALACHI

STREAKS, STATS AND NOTES

This is the first meeting between Acquin and Malachi and the second SCW match for the latter.

At London Brawling last month, Acquin was pinned by Jack Asher in a triple threat to determine the number one contender for the Roulette Championship that also involved Blade Alexander. Malachi was unsuccessful in his SCW debut against Fenris at CC 238.

Acquin is 2-6 in 2019, 10-35-1 in singles and 19-67-3 ahead of his 90th career match on Climax Control. He becomes just the third man to reach 90 career matches after Despayre and Casey Williams and the sixth wrestler in SCW history, when also including Jessie Salco, Mercedes Vargas and Amy Santino. Acquin's last singles match was on 14 April at CC 234 against Jack Asher, who he lost to by pinfall.

JESSIE SALCO vs BOBBIE DAHL

STREAKS, STATS AND NOTES

This is the first meeting between Salco and Dahl.

Entering CC 239, Salco had her title ban lifted by Christian Underwood three weeks ago. Salco, however, still lost to Amanda Cortez who defeated her in singles for the second time, then to Sierra Williams recently at CC 238. Dahl defeated Cortez by pinfall for her first win ever on Climax Control, ending a four-match slide in her in-ring return in more than two years.

Dahl made her debut back at CC 181 on 4 June 2017, where she lost to Amy Santino by pinfall. The Illinois native competed in just four other matches that year, winning just once. She lost to Cadence Carter by pinfall at CC 182, defeated Carter and Otaki at Summer XXXtreme, lost to Trinity Jones by submission at CC 185 and lost to Mercedes Vargas by pinfall at CC 187 in her final match in the company.

Salco is 1-8 in 2019 and 38-98-2 in SCW, including 25-71-2 in ahead of her 99th match on Climax Control. The former Honor Legacy Champion is two losses from becoming the first wrestler in history to reach 100 career losses. No other wrestler has more than 80 (Amy Santino). Salco is 18-38-1 in singles and has lost six straight dating back to a submission loss to Apple Coren at CC 221 on 25 November 2018.

TEDDY WARREN-STEELE vs BLADE ALEXANDER

STREAKS, STATS AND NOTES

Warren-Steele was pinned in a mixed tag match at CC 238 as he and Kate Steele were defeated by Anthrax and Twisted Sister of thr Metal Maniacs. Warren-Steele, who made his debut at this year's Blast From the Past Tournament and spent time in Sin City Underground prior, is 1-2 in SCW. His lone win was over Goth by disqualification. Blade Alexanderruling. Alexander lost to Goth at CC 238 and also fell short in a triple threat match at London Brawling II to determine the number one contender to the Roulette Championship, won by Jack Asher who pinned Joshua Acquin. Asher lost his contendership to Lachlan Kane at CC 237.

AMANDA CORTEZ vs SIERRA WILLIAMS

STREAKS, STATS AND NOTES

This is the first meeting between these Bombshells.

Cortez lost to Bobbie Dahl two weeks ago at CC 238. Prior to Sunday's loss, "The Tattooed Biker Chick" defeated Jessie Salco by pinfall for her second singles win over the "Heavy Metal Queen" and first win since being on the winning side of a ten-woman elimination tag match at CC 200 on 17 December 2017 with Zuri Chastain, Alexis Mercer and Odette Stevens against Vixen, Delia Darling and Keira Fisher-Johnson and Roxi Johnson. Williams defeated Salco by submission.

Cortez is 25-21-1 in SCW in her 48th career match. Williams is 7-2 ahead of her 10th career match.

FENRIS vs TRAVIS LEVITT

STREAKS, STATS AND NOTES

This is the second meeting between Fenris and Levitt but their first time meeting in singles. At Blaze of Glory earlier this year, Fenris pinned Levitt in a fatal four-way that also included Alex Jones and Jake Raab to successfully retain the World Heavyweight Championship in his ninth defense.

Fenris was the surprise opponent for Malachi, who he defeated by pinfall at CC 238. Levitt lost to Alex Jones last week.

Fenris has won two in a row and is 6-3 in 2019, 21-3-0-1 in SCW, 15-2-0-1 on Climax Control and 14-1 in singles, including 10-1 on Climax Control. Levitt has lost four straight. He's 3-9 in 2019, 4-9 overall in SCW, 2-5 in singles and 4-6 on Climax Control. His last win was at CC 232 back on 31 March.

CLASH OF THE CHAMPIONS - NON-TITLE: WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION AUSTIN JAMES MERCER vs ROULETTE CHAMPION GRIFFIN HAWKINS

STREAKS, STATS AND NOTES

This is the first meeting between the men's singles champions.

This is Hawkins' third career main event and first since CC 200 on 17 December 2017, also the last time he was in a Clash of Champions match. That night, then-World Heavyweight Champion Calvin Harris defeated Hawkins by pinfall. Earlier that year on 15 October at CC 194, Hawkins won his first career main event teaming up with Harris against the Unholy Alliance (Dmitri and James Tuscini), which they won when Harris pinned Tuscini. Mercer competes in his sixth main event, winning three of five. He's main evented at CC 227, CC 231, CC 235, CC 236 and CC 238.

Entering CC 240, Mercer is coming off a singles pinfall win over Ty West in his second successful defense of the World Heavyweight Championship two weeks ago at CC 238. Mercer is 9-4 in SCW and 4-1 in singles, including wins over Mickey Carroll at High Stakes VIII on 11 November 2018 where he won the Honor Championship, Vanu Naufau at Inception III earlier this year on 13 January and Fenris at CC 231 for the World Heavyweight Championship, ending his reign at 245 days Fenris defeated Mercer three shows earlier to retain the title at CC 227. Hawkins handed Kale Smith his first loss of 2019 last week. "The Rock Soldier" is 5-1 in 2019, 12-5 overall in SCW, 9-4 on Climax Control winning three in a row and 11-5 in singles winning four straight.

Mercer will be 84 days in as World Heavyweight Champion since winning the title at CC 231 back on 24 March while Hawkins will be 42 days in with the Roulette Championship since winning the title at London Brawling II on 5 May.
