Wrestler Information:

Name: Catherine "Cat" Riley

Nickname: Cardiac

Gimmick: Aside from being a legitimate catch wrestler Cat is a tomboy. She prefers jeans, tee shirts, sneakers and baseball caps to more traditional attire. She's more at home at a rugby tournament than a fashion show. She is not very polished as far as feminine behavior is concerned. Cat is however, a bit of a character. She enjoys having fun and is known for her sarcastic sense of humor.

Weight: 115 lbs. (8.21 stones or 52.16 kg)

Party Up

Common Entrance:

JUSTIN: Introducing at this time, he is a former SCW champion and the self-proclaimed greatest of great, the baddest of the bad, the coolest of the cool and holier than thou! He hails from Las Vegas, Nevada. Here is the one, the only, the legend himself and if you don’t believe it, just ask him, Goldenboy Gene Banton Junior!

The opening chords of ‘The King’s Motorcade” from the Coming to America soundtrack heralds a burst of multi-colored pyrotechnics at the head of the ramp. Curious faces bustle towards the railing lining the aisle their collective gaze drawn to the curtains bearing the SCW logo. Trembling briefly the satin grey drapery is parted forcibly by a pair of hands belonging to the Goldenboy Gene Banton Jr. He pauses succinctly, standing between the vibrant illuminations bringing his hands to his hips allowing the crowd to take in the display. Overhead a giant LCD screen dubbed the ‘jumbotron’ flashes images of the young man performing in the ring, speaking into a microphone and posing with a bevy of bikini clad beauties. Finally, he breaks into a stride, confidently swaggering his way to the ring ignoring the thrusting of outstretched hands, his lips curled into a confident smirk as his gleaming cobalt lenses dial into their destination, the squared circle where his business will be conducted in earnest. Climbing the iron steps and stepping between the ropes, the youngster extends his arms in presentation acknowledging the vociferous reception of the mob where he snatches the microphone from Justin.

JASON: Where did we get the pyro?

BELINDA: He brought his own I believe.

GENE: I know, I know. You’re all wondering what you could have possibly done in a previous life to deserve this. It’s true that I am more than you could possibly hope for but believe it or not I am here to right a wrong.

He pauses as a wry grin slithers stealthily across his beaming façade.

GENE: You see I am here to bring balance to this chaos that is SCW, to the chaos that is the United States of America and to the sheer, unbridled chaos that is the planet Earth! I am here to offset a tremendous tragedy that is about to befall each and every one of you. It is a tragedy that none of you asked for and none of you deserve.., well, except maybe for our elected officials. Behind that curtain is a mutant, the likes of which this chunk of floating rock has never before seen a mutant so hideous and so dastardly that I was forced to appear here tonight to offset such an unfortunate calamity by injecting a bit.., a whole lot of sex appeal. Yes, behind that curtain is my horribly mutated sister Cassie and that little English muffin that we have been appointed by the idiots that be to co-manage; she hails from the land of tea, crumpets and a 10,000 year old queen, Limey England, she is uhh, whatsherface!

JASON: Oh my God, it’s whatsherface! I heard she’s pretty good!

He waves his hand dismissively as the arena lights shine once more on the entrance, looking on with a smug satisfaction.

Plumes of smoke billow forth into the arena as the opening guitar riff of “Back in the game” by Airbourne slices through opposing speakers. The jumbotron flickers to life with hazy images of a pair of grapplers facing off in the ring, spectators shrieking and gesturing in excitement. The silhouettes onscreen continue to grapple for position, the pair slowly coming into focus revealing the duo as two women locked in gladiatorial embrace. One takes a step back on the mat, strands of long blonde hair draping over sinewy shoulders as the fair skinned vituperator signals her opponent to come after her with a single finger. The other woman quickly obliges by rushing in to attempt a side kick but her leg is caught mid-flight at the ankle by the blonde who twists her body forcing the aggressor to fall chest first to the canvass and allowing her to spin over onto the victim’s back securing a dazzling heel hook. The hireling is forced to surrender during which the screen closes in on the perspiry face of the victor.

Cat Riley, flanked by Gene’s sister Cassie emerges through the smoke at the top of the entrance ramp, Cat’s steely blue eyes focused on the ring ahead while stepping into the aisle and her lips twisted into a menacing snarl to match the one sported by her red head co-manager. The simple black, logo-less ball cap facing backwards atop her head is reached for by an overzealous fan that is thwarted by security. Upon reaching the ringside area Cat stops at the base of the steps, her dark eyebrows fluted while she peers between the ropes towards her snickering manager who busies himself pandering to the fans lining the railing. With a deep breath, Cat reaches up to pull off her hat followed by the tattered black and white over shirt revealing a black sports bra with a white puma logo commanding the center. Dropping the shirt and hat into Cassie’s outstretched hands she then steps underneath the middle rope entering the ring. The onslaught of the overhead lights prompts the arrival to wipe the sweat from her brow and rub her hands against the fabric of tight grey leggings before bending over to adjust the laces of her black and white sneakers and then raising her right arm in acknowledgement to the crowd.

Alignment: Neutral

Common Moves:
1. Front chancery
2. Hammer lock
3. Single/Double wrist lock
4. Toe hold (Spinning/Stationary)
5. Collar tie up
6. Over/Under hook
7. Pinch grip tie up
8. Nelson (quarter, half, three-quarter, full, double and further)
9. Anaconda choke (similar to the triangle choke)
10. Knee bar
11. Head and arm harness (Like a side headlock only Cat is sprawled)
12. Shoulder twist (From a standing position)
13. Headlock
14. Body scissors
15. Fireman’s carry takedown

NOTE: Cat is strictly a mat based wrestler. She abhors aerial wrestling maneuvers and will not leave her feet. As she likes to say “High spots are for birds”. Her striking is effective but rather limited and something she continues to work on, but don’t expect to see any hurricanranas out of her.

NOTE: This list is by no means complete as Cat has been training for years learning holds and maneuvers and even devising her own. Many of these holds and moves can also be effective methods to score a pin fall provided Cat has her opponent on their back. This list is merely meant to illustrate a small sampling of her arsenal and to inspire match writers.

Trademark Moves:
1. The Mousetrap. Cat hoists her opponent into the air as if attempting a suplex but does not pivot. Instead she jumps with her opponent and traps their arm between her legs on the way down for an arm bar submission.

2. This is known as the Keylock and as the Americana in MMA. From a side mount Cat pins her opponent’s arm by the wrist (She uses the same arm of her own that she is attacking on her opponent ie; right for right or left arm for left arm). She pins the arm down with the wrist facing up making sure that her thumb is facing inward towards her and not away. She next positions herself so that her other elbow is very close to her opponent’s ear and then slides that free arm under her opponent’s bicep and grabs her opposite wrist, locking it in. She slides her opponent’s wrist towards their lower body and at the same time raising her elbow putting incredible pressure on their joints.

3. The Rolling chancery. This is a variation of the front chancery as used by George Hackenscmidt. Cat learned early on that many are prone to shooting in on her hoping to score a double leg take down. Cat will bait them in by exposing her mid-section to them and as they shoot in she leans forward and wraps her arm around her opponent’s neck thus securing a chancery. With the chancery secure she will roll with her opponent’s momentum back onto her butt and trap her opponent’s forward most leg with her own as they land on the mat. This ends with the opponent in a choke and quite often a pinning position if she leans back far enough.

4. The Calf Slicer. This is a compression lock that presses the muscle against the bone. While on her back Cat will have one of her opponent’s legs tied up between her own with the other kept at bay by her hands. She moves her shin underneath the opponent’s calf at the point where the calf ends near the knee. With her leg in this position Cat grabs the ankle of the leg that she Is attacking and pulls it towards the back of the same leg’s thigh thereby compressing their calf muscle against her shin.

5. Short arm scissors. This is also known as the Biceps slicer and is another in an expansive list of compression locks in Cat’s repertoire. With her opponent on their back Cat sits up beside her grabbing the nearest arm. She bends the arm and reaches through with one of her own and then places one of her legs across the wrist grabbing her own ankle to lock the hold and pulls up with her arm while forcing her opponent’s wrist down with her leg and applying pressure to the elbow.

Finisher: As a classically trained catch wrestler with literally hundreds of “hooks” in her repertoire Cat does not have a single, preferred finisher. She will instead look for the first available hold or move to finish the contest, be it an arm bar, a leg lock, chokehold or anything else that may present itself. This is not to say that she does not have a few crowd pleasers in her arsenal (See Trademark moves).
