SCW makes its return to Tucson for the first time since High Stakes VIII back in November 2018 (Tucson Expo Center) and on Climax Control after nearly two years Sunday with CC 239. The event takes place at Tucson Convention Center with a seven-match card. This will be the fourth different venue and the fifth time the city has hosted Climax Control since June 2014 (CC 87 on 29 June, Tucson High Gymnasium). Tucson last hosted Climax Control on 26 November 2017 (CC 197, University of Arizona Convocation Center) as well as on two other occasions in March and October 2016 at CC 142 and CC 160 respectively (both times at Rialto Theater) Advertised for this weekend: Lachlan Kane takes on Blade Alexander; Alex Jones takes on Travis Levitt,; Culture Shock make their tag team debut against Santino and Vinnie; Seleana Zdunich and Cat Riley return for round two; Caleb Storms takes on Jake Raab; Griffin Hawkins faces Blast From the Past Tournament winner Kale Smith; and in the main event, rivals collide. Mercedes teams with Alicia Lukas as they face Sam Marlowe and Crystal Zdunich. The latter of which continues a rivalry that has lasted beyond a decade.

LACHLAN KANE vs BLADE ALEXANDER

STREAKS, STATS AND NOTES

This is the first meeting between these Superstars.

Ahead of CC 239, Kane is coming off a singles win over Jack Asher two weeks ago following a title loss with Sierra Williams as they were defeated by Gamers Inc, who ended their reign with the World Mixed Tag Team Championship at a record-breaking 175 days and three successful defenses in their fourth defense of the titles since winning them at High Stakes VIII on 11 November 2018. It was Kane and Williams' first loss as a team in six matches (5-0) and Kane's fourth overall loss in SCW. Kane is 7-4 in SCW and 3-1 in singles, with wins also over Jake Raab at CC 221 and Kadar Hasheem at CC 223.

Alexander suffered a submission singles loss to Goth last week, that after falling short in a triple threat match at London Brawling II to determine the number one contender to the Roulette Championship, won by Jack Asher who pinned Joshua Acquin. Asher lost his contendership to Lachlan Kane at CC 237.

ALEX JONES vs TRAVIS LEVITT

STREAKS, STATS AND NOTES

This is the third meeting between these two and their second singles meeting. They shared the ring at Blaze of Glory for the World Heavyweight Championship with Fenris and Jake Raab. Fenris pinned Levitt to retain. Jones defeated Levitt by pinfall to win his SCW singles debut at CC 228, his only singles match to date.

Ahead of Sunday's clash, Jones is coming off his second straight defeat, a main event tag loss with Austin James Mercer against Ty West and Fenris at CC 236, where Fenris pinned Jones. The loss also ended Jones' undefeated streak on Climax Control after winning his first five matches. Following a 3-0 start, Jones has split his previous six matches (3-3). "The Black Dragon" is 6-3 in SCW, 5-1 on Climax Control.

Levitt lost to Ben Jordan last week. BOMBSHELL CLASH OF THE CHAMPIONS: WORLD BOMBSHELL CHAMPION ALICIA LUKAS and MERCEDES VARGAS vs BOMBSHELL ROULETTE CHAMPION SAMANTHA MARLOWE and CRYSTAL ZDUNICH

Prior to coming to SCW, Lukas and Vargas were rivals in Honor Wrestling where they met four times. Vargas and Lukas was part of the company's inaugural Mayhem Survival match in July 2017 which Vargas won at number four lasting forty-five minutes with five eliminations while Lukas entered ninth and was eliminated fourth in the match; lastly eliminated Lukas in an eight-woman tag team elimination match and was the sole survivor; and won a mixed tag match by disqualification due to outside interference. Lukas' lone win against Vargas in Honor happened at the Turmoil pay-per-view back on 5 May 2018 where Lukas won a triple threat to end Vargas' six-plus month Hinor Championship title reign at 202 days in her sixth defense, though Vargas was not pinned in the decision. Lukas defeated Vargas by pinfall in their first match on the SCW roster at CC 222 on 2 December 2018.

Lukas is coming off her second defense of the World Bombshell Championship defeating Seleana Zdunich by pinfall in the main event of CC 237. Sunday will be Lukas' seventh career main event and third in a row following London Brawling II where she successfully defended against Kate Steele and CC 237. After dropping her first three at CC 223, Inception III and CC 230 respectively, "The Strong Style Southern Belle" has won three straight main events at Blaze of Glory VII, London Brawling II and the aforementioned CC 237. Vargas won her second straight match following London Brawling II with a singles win over Trinity Jones at CC 236. Zdunich won a tag match with Seleana Zdunich against the Metal and Punk Connection at London Brawling II when with by Crystal Zdunich's pinfall on Salco. Marlowe had her seven-month unbeaten streak ended by Cat Riley at CC 237. The ten-match win streak included eight straight in singles to match a career-high from mid-September 2015 to mid-May 2016, dating back to a fatal four-way on 21 October 2018 at CC 219 where Marlowe pinned Trinity Jones in a Roulette Rules Black Friday Brawl to become number one contender to the Bombshell Roulette Championship that also included Amy Santino and Seleana Zdunich. Marlowe's last defeat happened at Into the Void last year where Brittany Williams ended her second Bombshell Roulette Championship reign in a Roulette Rules Ladder match. Her last decisive loss happened at CC 202 on 22 April 2018 when she was pinned by Courtney Pierce in the quarterfinals of last year's Blast From the Past Tournament as eventual tournament winners Pierce and Fenris defeated Marlowe and Caleb Storms to advance. Marlowe's last singles defeat was to Mercedes Vargas at CC 197 on 26 November 2017. The defeat was her first loss of 2019 after six matches, now 6-1. Marlowe is 43-27-2 in SCW, 32-18-2 on Climax Control and 12-8 in tag winning her previous two at CC 223 and CC 225 in 2018.

Lukas lost her tag team debut with Jessie Salco against Dani Weston and Marlowe when Marlowe submitted Salco. Lukas defeated Crystal and Seleana Zdunich and Dani Weston at Blaze of Glory to retain the World Bombshell Championship.

Marlowe and Zdunich are 3-3 against each other, having split their first six meetings. Marlowe won the previous two, a singles win at CC 183 on 18 June 2017 and a tag win with Dani Weston against Zdunich and Mercedes Lewis CC 225 on 24 December 2018 respectively. This will be their third tag match and are tied 1-1 in tag. Zdunich won the first tag match on 22 May 2016 at CC 149 with J2H against Despayre and Marlowe. They are tied 1-1 in singles (Zdunich defeated Marlowe by submission for the World Bombshell Championship at CC 150 in 2016; Marlowe defeated then-World Bombshell Champion Zdunich at CC 183 in 2017), Zdunich defeated Marlowe last in the Chamber of Fate match at Summer XXXtreme 2016 to retain the title in her first defense. Marlowe pinned Zdunich in a triple threat that also included then-champion Mercedes Vargas to win her second World Bombshell Championship at Into the Void V 2016.

Vargas and Marlowe meet for the first time in 2019 in what will be their 12th overall match. The head-to-head series belongs to Marlowe 5-3-3, including 3-1 in tag. Marlowe won the first three tag matches at CC 153, CC 179 and CC 214 respectively while Vargas won the most recent at Violent Conduct against Marlowe and Caleb Storms last year to regain the World Mixed Tag Team Championship with Kain.

This is the 51st career match between Vargas and Zdunich and 19th tag match in a rivalry that has lasted close to a decade; In 42 head-to-head meetings, the overall series is 15-13-14, in Vargas' favor, including 8-1-2 in tag. They turned pro within four years of each other, Zdunich in 2005 and Vargas in 2009.

Zdunich last met Vargas in the main event of CC 203 on 29 April 2018 in a triple threat where Zdunich pinned Diamond to retain the Bombshell Internet Championship. Zdunich is 6-1-2 all-time against Vargas in SCW, including 3-0 in main events (CC 161, SXT, CC 203). Zdunich's only defeat to Vargas was during a non-title Pumpkin on a Pole match at CC 163 in 2016.

Vargas is 4-3-1 in 2019, 58-71-2 in her career, 42-50-2 on Climax Control and 17-20 in tag. Vargas competes in her 20th career main event in SCW with a 10-9 record. Her last main event tag happened on 30 September 2018 with a win with Cat Riley against Kate Steele and Jessie Salco. Zdunich is 37-38-2 and 23-27-1 (51) on Climax Control.

The last time Marlowe and Zdunich were in a tag match was the main event of CC 225 back on 23 December 2018. Marlowe and Cat Riley defeated Zdunich and Mercedes Lewis in a tag match when Marlowe submitted Lewis.
